This book is fantastic. Great detail, easy to digest, well organized, and built for visual learners.
The organization of the pages made the information in this book very easy to digest. The whole book is organized by sections of similar animals or plants and then next to each of them is a map as to where in the arctic they exist. The small maps were the best part for a visual learner like myself. It made for a fast paced read and easy to photographically recall which pages I read certain information on. The facts and information provided a great jumping off point to do more research.
Not to mention, the art is great! The consistency of style and detail is strong through the book.
If you are looking for information on the terrain of the arctic -- this book is the book for you. Highly recommend.
A comprehensive guide, featuring plants and animals, many introductory paragraphs about Families (and sometimes even Genera), and a helpful introduction to the Arctic (including how it is defined). One unique feature is the variety of names listed for each species, not limited to English names.
