I am The Dragon, berserk indeed, of Dragon Blood and Dragon Seed. This is my story, so am I told, to pass along these Legends bold.
Darque Aalanna Grifynn, known as the Dragon, is now the Battle Commander of the Dragon Clan, home of the Warrior Brotherhood. Known as the Triad Prophesies, Corbyn the Fay sought their realization throughout the ages. The Return of the Dragon, the Return of the True King, and the Death of Life.

This is the second book in Darqie series. It was so good. I like the ideas and characters of the book very much. There are parts of the book that make me close my eyes and imagine the scenes in detail. The story progresses well and does not bore you. Reading it was a pleasant experience. Thaks to dear writer for giving me a copy of this beauty book.🤍
Death of Life by Derrien Reylea continues the saga of Darque Legends fantasy world ; a world that is full of dragons extraordinary warriors magical creatures and of course dragon clan and also has a prophesy involved The story has many layers that are nicely threaded and the characters now start to justify their presence as the savior girl grows from strength to strength and meets many people on her journey some allies and others enemies The story starts to grow on the reader with 2nd installment and makes you yearn for more though the language used takes a little time to get used to . Still a good fantasy novel
Death of Life is an amazing continuation of the Darque Legends series. It starts where the first book left off and leads you on Darque's journey as Battle Commander and tells of the trials the Dragon Clan and all living beings have to face in their fight against the Black. I especially like how the story starts where the first one ended and weaves a tale through the past and tells the tale of how life began for the Dragon Clan and the major players.
While Darque and her warriors of both the Dragon Clan and the new Dragon Warriors battle to rebuild after the destruction of their beloved Drekkin, they are met with the task of securing and helping the True King.
I am completely in love with these books. I have been reading all of my life. Jane Austen is my favorite, however, Derrien Relyea and her Darque Legends have officially become my second favorite books thus far. I am getting ready to start the third book in the series and have no doubt it will be just as amazing as the first two.
An enjoyable fantasy tale told from an intellectual point of view. The story takes you to a setting of dragons, magic creatures, other worldly forests, dark forces, and ancient civilizations. Most of it is tied to a prophecy in which we see unfold chapter after chapter. There are insect-like creatures that hunt and eat humans alive. Some humans are able to share a magical bond with their dragon counterparts. We get to see armies of dragons in battle action. Overall, it tells the life journey of several characters working into the coming of the prophesied true king. And an epic battle of warriors and dragons to save the remnants of a human civilization.
This is a well written book. It told a complete tale from beginning to end with evolution of characters. And there was intrigue and peril along the way. It’s a story that will stay in your head. If you like to read epic fantasy magic tales then you will enjoy reading this one.
This second installment of the Darque Legends series behind with some historical information about the circumstances that forced the real heir to the throne of Evantyrr to be kept in hiding and follows through to the aftermath of the war which had the Dragin Clan decimated and trying to recover. This second part is told exclusively in third poison, as there are many different threads of the characters stories intertwined. The plot is very well developed, add well as the characters, which include their internal processes which mashes the story and it's numerous threads quite harmonic. It has been a enjoyable read.
“Death of Life” continues the epic saga of Darque Aalanna Grifynn, known as the Dragon, who now leads the Warrior Brotherhood—the most elite fighting force in all of Kadoor. With the Battle for the Dragon Clan behind her, she faces a new prophecy: the Return of the True King and the Death of Life itself. As the Fates weave their threads, Darque must rebuild the Brotherhood, find the True King, and prevent the impending catastrophe.
Rich World-Building: Relyea’s vivid descriptions immerse readers in Eldoria, where magic, dragons, and destiny collide. Character Growth: Darque’s journey from Battle Commander to reluctant savior is compelling. Her internal struggles, loyalty, and determination resonate. Prophecies and Mystery: The Triad Prophecies—Return of the Dragon, Return of the True King, and Death of Life—drive the plot. The suspense keeps readers engaged.
Final Verdict: “Death of Life” weaves together destiny, sacrifice, and the inexorable march of time. Fans of epic fantasy will appreciate the intricate world-building and Darque’s unwavering determination. While not flawless, this installment sets the stage for an epic showdown in the “Darque Legends” series.
I enjoyed this sequel, maybe not as much as the first but it was definitely a good read. Her exploration of style towards the end felt like a whole new story. I could tell she was going for something different this time vs the last one and I think it paid off. Although I had some trouble following all the new characters and time lines. Her use of subtitles and breaks to switch between settings helped me follow the story better but it was still not enough at times. She uses these breaks to her advantage with increased drama. As she switches between characters to give the reader a new perspective for the same segment of time.
All the characters she built came in handy when it was time to fully describe the emotions she is wanting to portray, along with different perspectives. Although I would have preferred fewer of them just for the sake of simplicity. I am hoping the complexity of all the characters being described will pay off in the later books. On another note I am not even close to bored with the newer creatures. She brings up these bugs that were probably the coolest detail of the whole book. If they come back for book 3 I will be ecstatic.
When you want to read the rest of the story to no what will happen next,,, but author wants to give you the background of how things reached where they were in last book... And then you realise,,,, oh that was also damn important..!
New character introduced... Beautiful unraveling of the story. And I realised that author loves to write strong female characters.. something I will always root for..!
Our dragon and human romantasy is going ❤️❤️ but the warrior to leader journey of darque is 🔥🔥
I still would love more about storm... I love that girl..! And I wish I get to know shela's complete story in book 3. While I already enjoyed the mystic unraveling of Alana identity.
We have came a long way in this war... Now just prep to end this war with black in book 3...! 🚶🏃🤸
Death of Life is continuation to Darque Legends series. It starts at Darque's journey as Battle Commander and tells of the trials the Dragon Clan and their fight with the Black. This second book of Darque Legends series has some information about the situations that made real heir to the throne of Evantyrr to be kept in hidden followed by aftermath of the war by Dragin Clan. The story is narrated in third person voice too fully. A well written plot with more share of fantasies. Enjoyable read only if you can relate to this genre.
The second instalment of the Darque Legends series continues on from Book 1. Initially I had trouble navigating the story because I hadn’t read the first book and the language took a while to get used to.
Derrien Relyea has created an epic fantasy world that sucks you in from the get go. You will be introduced to magical creatures, experience epic battles, and discover the true King in hiding.
The book is well written with a very well developed plot that intensifies as the story progresses. Be prepared to loose yourself in this book.
Three words for this book exquisite painful and beautiful.
The author uses poetic prose and vivid imagery to create a deeply introspective narrative that resonates universally. Although the passive and abstract locations won't appeal to everyone, the authentic emotions and well-developed characters make this a compelling read.
A moving meditation on the passing of life, The Death of Life is perfect for lovers of thought-provoking literature.
It was slightly difficult to go through after the first book but worth it.
This is the second book in the Darque Legends series. I found myself feeling drawn to it, but I wished that I could recall the first book in more detail. I found that it didn't really matter, as the book drew me into a world entirely its own. The prose and language is elaborate but beautiful. I could appreciate the romance in the story, and it had its fair share of spice too.
It took me a few days to finish this one, so maybe not ideal if it's a quick read you're looking for. It was an awesome escape though, especially if you enjoy romantasy.
The second book in the Darque series and it gives you more to yearn for. The writer has particularly added suspense concerning the fulfilment of prophecies.
Most especially the reincarnation of darque is most exquisite. Let me not forget to hint about the 7th egg, i just love His story.
