This is 8 book in the Seals of Honor series but it can be read as a stand alone.  Quite frankly it was my first book that was written by Dale Mayer. And I enjoyed it. Military operations are not the subject which interest me. But in combination with second chance romance and the story line becomes more fascinating for me. The main plot is based on the attempt to discover who is responsible for all the trouble that Megan was linked with. And it was filed with action and suspense wich I like very much.
And here is BUT.
It was not enough romance for me. What can I say, I'm a romance junkie, so I need a lot of my drug. I need passion deep feelings and emotions, and in this area there was a long line of death with individual weak beats.
Overall, this was quick and quite interesting book with a little bit of second chance romance but where the plot is focus on a captivating military action. If you like this kind of book I would definitely recommend it for you.

This is the 9th book in the SEALs of Honor series. While it technically can be read as a stand alone, it definitely is better to see how each member of the team has become a "Keeper." In this second chance romance, Megan and Evan find themselves on the same mission just a few years after their own relationship ended. However, Evan is determined not to let Megan get away this time. But, first things first, the safety of the SEAL team and the country come before romance. This was a great mix of action, suspense and romance with just enough of a teaser about what is in store for Ice and Levi.

ARC - Received from the author for an honest review.

You can read it as a standalone even if i think it's better to read the other ones before, to know all the other guys appearing in the book with Evan.

Evan is a seal, and a great one with that. He longs for a woman he had an affair with 3 years ago, and he had the opportunity to be saved by her when on a perilous mission abroad.
Megan is a great helicopter pilot with some serious emotional problems. She was in a relationship for more than one year with a man wanting to marry her. She left him thinking something was off with her.

After several attempts to her life,i can say i don't really know and understand why there was so much attacks on her, and that's the think that's trouble me the most.
It's just not that logical, and it's for that i gave 4 stars.

But this story was great anyway and i'd like to know more about the other caracters in this book, like Ice.

**ARC RECEIVED IN EXCHANGE FOR AN HONEST REVIEW**

This wasn't bad, kept me engaged with all of the mysterious attempts on Megan's life, but here's the thing, while I enjoyed Evan and Megan's characters to a certain point, both of them had very annoying tendicies.

Megan was a trained helicopter pilot and martial artist, yet at the first sign of danger she regressed back to a barbie doll like female depending on Evan and the other men to keep her safe, I don't understand that. Why go into such a male dominated field and act well, like a little girl? I'm not expecting her to act all butch but she sure did go from one extreme to another. She was either stubborn as hell or wanting Evan to coddle her, WTH?

Evan on the other hand went all stupid alpha male, I just feel that had he been put in charge of a man that was found in the same situation as Megan, he would not have treated said man like a fragile piece of glass. I understand that he cares a great deal for Megan but the way he treated her, like she couldn't make her own decisions and carrying her around like she was a child is very insulting, bummed ankle or not.

What I did like about him was his honesty when it came to his feelings for her, but unfortunately Megan is the type to play too many fucking games with a man. You either like him or you don't. You either get with him or you don't,  but stop fucking about making up all kinds of stupid ass excuses, fishing for compliments, that's probably why he treats her like a helpless female.

FYI: Not for nothing but the villains in this series are pretty incompetent,  not that I want anything to happen to any of the good guys/gals but man these villains really know how to botch a job several times over...

I struggled with this one...it was slow building and I felt like I just wanted the story to get on. I found myself more interested in Ice and Levi, but I could not get with Megan. I felt like she was so indecisive and not real confident and when the heroine of a story isn't really likable, I struggle with the rest of the story. Evan kind of shoved his way back into her life and while it could of been cute, I was annoyed. I found myself skimming some parts and I found myself trying to get to the action, because when there was action is was good action. I'm struggling with giving this a real review, because in comparison to the other book, I did not really care for it, but I also don't feel like it was all bad or that I would never read another one of Mayer stories, because I'm really really interested in what is going on with Levi and Ice. About chapter 19 on...I think those were some of the best parts of the book, I'm not sure if it was because we finally got a real interaction between Levi and Ice or was it because something actually took place between Megan and Evan, which was sweet. For a minute I thought she was going to ruin it with her insecurity, but she pulled out for me. Like I said, overall I didn't really care for it, but it wasn't the worst. I normally love stories about SEAL men, but this one didn't cut it for me. I'm giving it 3 Stars, it didn't totally suck.

A voluntarily received a copy of Seals of Honor: Evan for an honest review.

The first thing I asked since it is book 8 in a series, is does it read as a stand alone? to which I was told yes. I will agree that the overall book does read as a standalone. However, there are a lot of characters that appear, that obviously had previous books.  So that drove my OCD butt a little wonky, not knowing their back stories.

This story revolves around Evan, a seal (of course) and Megan a helicopter pilot.  I really liked that Megan. She wasn’t your ordinary damsel in distress.  She was very resourceful and able to take care of herself and even sometimes Evan.  I can always appreciate when an author writes a strong woman.   There was a lot of action once the story got rolling and it really didn’t stop.  I just never really understood why they were after Megan, it didn’t make sense to me.  The explanation didn’t fit “real life”.  I know, I know.  This isn’t real life.  However, I have the type of mind that picks apart stories so if I can’t get them to be someone logical in the scope of the story I have issues accepting it.

Overall, I really enjoyed the story and I will be going back and reading the series from the start.  I really want to know what is going on with Ice.

Another member falls pray to the "Keeper" fate and joins the lucky ones who have found "The One". This seal member had a history with his "one" which is making her kind of skittish. Reunited after a mission went wrong the bad guys seemed to be focused on taking her out bringing out the protective instincts of one love sick seal and giving him a second chance at the one that got away. Lots of action, a traitor in the military house and a romance on the run keep you entertained and on the edge of your seat. Great characters, fast paced storyline and a group of bonded brothers who have a knack for keeping the damsel in distress make for some fun reading from this great author. I love this series and look forward to the next hunky seal who falls to the fate of the "keeper" curse.

I volunteered to review this advanced reader copy

This book brings back find memories of Mason's book., December 14, 2016

Evan was a good time guy until he met Megan, then things changed. He never forgot her or the weekend they spent together. Now she was back and he wanted to find out if he could have forever with her.

Megan was a helicopter pilot learning emergency evacuation procedues. Megan and her partner, Ice, rescued Evan and the other Seals from a mission gone bad. Returning to base she sees something off but doesn't think about it until after the mission review.

Now the four Seals from the original mission are being hunted and Megan has joined the list. Can Evan and the other Seals keep her safe until they can figure out who is after them or will she become just another statistic?

I have read now read three of the 11 books in Dale Mayer’s series Seals of Honor and I must say that I have been intrigued by all three. I am hoping to be able to read them all soon. I love to read and though paranormal romance and sci-fi romance are my favorite, there is nothing to compare to a contemporary romance about the boys/men who fight to keep us and our country safe. I am glad for the opportunity to review her books because they are well written and though they are fiction, they could be real. One never knows what our military is up against in the world today. Her books are very good reading material and not to mention we get to dream about the fabulously built Seals in these books. So, I salute Dale and her Seals!!!!!

Evan and Megan had one weekend of wild sex and anything else they wanted to do, then Megan went her way and Evan went his. Little did they know that their lives would collide once again. Megan is transferred to the West Coast to join a new helicopter division. She had no idea that this transfer would lead her right to Evan. Megan is sent out with another female helicopter pilot, Ice to rescue a team of Seals under fire and to her surprise is one of the Seals that they rescue. Ice is a crack pot pilot and Megan is riding with her. Evan is shooting off snipers giving his team mates time to rescue the four Seals that are injured. They rescue the 4 men that have been shot and the 4 men and Evan’s team are on the chopper. Megan is on the rebound from a break up after two years, and she is shocked when Evan tells her that he intends to win her back after they land. That he realized he messed up when he let her leave without trying to stop her. Megan and Evan are trying to piece together what happened and how the enemy could get on base without being noticed and what exactly happened to their 4 friends. So now Megan is a target of the attackers and time is crucial or she and Evan could become the latest victims. Will Evan be able to keep Megan and his friends safe? Will Evan win Megan over or lose her forever?

No Spoilers. Advanced Reader Copy read voluntarily.

SEALs of Honor- Evan

This is another amazing action packed book in the SEALs of Honor series with one of the Keeper SEALs finding love with someone he could never forget from his past but was ready to lock her down forever this time. Megan felt the same way before but she could not move on from him and even found love again but could not marry Peter her ex fiance because he was not Evan. Hopefully this time they could make it work because they were both ready but just had to survive long enough for this to happen. She was sent on a extraction mission with Ice in their helicopter to pick up the injured SEALs in Mexico. They barely made it out alive and four SEALs were in bad shape after their mission had gone bad with Levi and Stone seriously injured. Evan was on the mission but came away unhurt helping extract the rest of the injured unit teammates and reconnected with Megan after landing safely. Megan noticed a four man Mexican crew pass her when it only warranted to work on the HVAC with two men. It raised a red flag since they just came from Mexico and Levi's SEAL unit was ambushed by the Mexican cartel. She told Evan and he relayed the information to Mason after checking camera footage which proved she was right. This was the beginning of the exciting action packed story as they kept killing these drug gang members and evading capture by them as well. At one point Megan had to jump out of her bedroom second story window when being held at gunpoint and escaped capture by him but spraining her ankle and getting shot by him. In the midst of all this Evan and Megan fell in love and stayed alive after several attempts at their lives and those of Levi's unit as well. It was such a fantastic suspenseful military romance as another member of the Keepers SEAL unit, Evan finds true love with Megan. I am looking forward to more releases in this series hopefully as every story has been amazing and I highly recommend these books.

Evan and Megan have a history - although it was several years ago and only a weekend fling. Neither one of them could get the other off of their mind. Megan tried to move on with her life, even going so far as getting engaged. She calls off the wedding and moves back West when offered the position. Evan finds out she has come back to town and sets about trying to win her back. Megan and Evan see each other for the first time when she is a co-pilot on an extraction mission Evan is on. When they get back home, Evan makes his intentions clear. Megan is resistant because she doesn't trust that Evan wants more than a fling. An enemy makes its presence known and both of them have to rely upon his team and their finely honed instincts and training to stay alive. Megan was resilient and didn't let multiple attempts on her life get her down. Evan uses the opportunity presented to him to let Megan know how true his intentions towards her are. It was quite a gripping tale, had a good plot and was nicely done. I received an ARC of this book by the author for which I am grateful.

I love stong heroines and Dale Mayer definitely delivers. In this book we get a closer look at Ice and meet her new partner Megan. The book starts as Ice and Megan pick Levi's team out of a mission gone wrong. An ambush that will change all their lives.

Evan was part of the team that went in to get them out, he and Megan have a bit of history and now he wants to see if there is more for them. Megan is a bit more skeptical, although she does have feelings for him as well.

As this investigation opens, things are really tense on base, and Megan thinks she may have seen something.

Things heat up rapidly in more way than one as Megan finds herself in the middle of an investigation she really wants nothing to do with.

Plenty of hold your breath action, tears, some laughter and simmering to sizzling heat as Evan works to convince Megan he's the one for her.

Evan is considered a wildcard by everyone - including Megan. However unknown to her he is definitely carrying a torch for her and when she transfers to the West Coast their paths cross again when rescuing another SEAL unit who appears to be under attack in an apparent betrayal. Back at base Megan is the one under attack and so Megan and Evan need to stick together as they fight to keep her safe as well as work out who set them up. Can Evan keep her heart safe while Evan fights to keep her safe?

This is a charming story of how sometimes attraction cannot be denied especially when it is so right. Dramatic and with a mystery too it was a great light read that was very enjoyable. Well written, it is a light fun read with an added dose of drama, danger and mystery.

'SEALs of Honor: Evan' was another explosive story surrounding the Seals. Full of action, mystery and humor. The characters are amazing. Evan finally joined the 'Keeper' club. Evan, like many of his brothers, was a wild one once. But then you throw in Megan and the tables turned. She's strong willed, brave and truly compassionate when it comes to others. I loved Ice as well. She's quite the strong, smart and secretive one. The story as a whole was amazing. I've loved this series from book one. A great add to your tbr list.

Evan

WOW! Talk about second chances having a tumultuous drama on the way to happiness. Evan knew his heart was with Meagan even after she left him. Now these years later they get a second chance at love but first they have to get rid of the bad guys trying to kill Meagan and Levi. Meagan was getting really tired of the situation and took matters into her own hands to kill at least 2 of the bad guys. Now that the threat is over, Evan can claim his woman and I am happy these two found their happily ever after. FANTASTIC job Dale! I would recommend this book.

I bought this book in a bundle years ago and am now reading it.
Evan and Megan have a past. She walked away. Now she is back as Ice's co-pilot in a helicopter. Evan is with a team that rescued Levi and his team from a botched mission. But when it is noted that the enemy has come to the base to finish off the job, all hands on deck. Between them and his team they race against the clock to protect those injured. Will this time between them make up for lost time?

What a ride!!

An excellent story in this series of SEALs of Honor - interesting characters, believable oh-so-dangerous situations, falling in love at such a wrong time... I was hooked on Evan & Megan's relationship right from the start!! And I really loved the members of their team - they added to the importance of their work as SEALs! Highly recommended!

Evan has found out Megan is back. Her and Ice have just come and flown them and the injured out. Megan is still reeling from breaking off her engagement. She is sure that Evan is a playboy and just looking for a weekend hookup. Evan has his work cut out for him to convince her. Oh yeah, they have to stay alive first to find out.

Another excellent story in this series of SEALs of Honor

The characters are interesting, believable and get into oh-so-dangerous situations, falling in love at such a wrong time...

The two main characters are powerful characters in their own right and perfect together! Running from bad guys or fighting them, the couple is great!

Helicopter flying into pick up the injured Seal’s a mission that had gone bad and leaving under gunfire. Ice calm and in control and with Megan as co pilot. Returning to base Megan feels like she spotted something unusual. at the hanger. Which leads her to jumping out of the second story apartment and run for safety. A love Megan & Evan had before and more mature of what they had. Good action.

Just to unbelievable. Two inept wannabe gun runners constantly getting past a full team of Navy Seals and Military Police is essentially saying that their training is worthless. I hope that the author dumps the formula she is using in which the h is captured or nearly captured a minimum of three times.

I listened to the audiobook narrated by Nick J. Russo. He has an excellent voice for these characters! What I love about the female characters in this series is that Dale Mayer has written them as strong, capable, women who can join with their man to handle what needs to be handled.

Second chance

Everyone has the memory of the one who got away. Rarely is there a chance to find that attraction, even rarer to found it was better than remembered. These two alphas are hilarious in the way they tried to avoid their second chance. Love wins in the end.
