Planez by Mariah James is an alluring read. Hot, spicy, and full of action. The heat spread like a wild fire. Consuming the reader whole. The plot was interesting. Mariah James created an adult fictional piece that had me riding a rollercoaster. The emotions were everywhere. Intense and exciting. New. Both Essence and Malcom kept me guessing. The pages were entertaining to keep on following the pair. Mariah James also included each protagonist's viewpoint. I think that made this book a good read. Overall, it was enjoyable to watch as the characters struggled and fell in love.

Need some hot and steamy in your life? Then you need this series. The development of Essence and Malcom's relationship will not leave you wanting. Female-centered pleasure is what I was looking for and Mariah delivered, so men if you need some tips you can find them in this book. This is a must read.

This is a self-published debut novel from a local author with some clear potential. The story structure and pacing work great, but James's prose can be stilted and awkward. I also did not like Malcolm as a character. He's supposed to be a smooth, sexy Alpha Male but .

Content warning for some sexual violence, including the assault of a child.
