The Fast Girls, Hot Boys series became my Gossip Girl I could care less about what was going on in the book lives of Manhattans Elite I wanted to know who wouldn't be accepting a diploma at the Miami Academy for Creative and Performing Arts. Bling Addiction picks up shortly after the first book in the series Cruel Summer left off. Scandals, sex tapes, lies and secrets all are active parts in this coming of age novel. It's a real page turner with characters that you can't help but relate to at least one of them.

In CRUEL SUMMER, the first novel of the new teen series, FAST GIRLS, HOT BOYS, we were introduced to five friends, all living in South Beach, Miami.
There's Max, the son of a Hollywood movie star who gets anything and anyone he wants; Dante, the hot hip-hop artist who would do anything possible to get into the business; Pippa, the moocher, who is anything but rich; Christina, the anime artist who is unable to "find herself" due to a political mother who is anti-gay; and Vanity, the daughter of a very successful music executive who can't seem to find the right guy, one who isn't going out with her just because of the connections she has with her father.
Now, in BLING ADDICTION, we are one step closer to the end and one step closer to finding out which one of the five did not make it to graduation. It's hotter than ever in South Beach and more secrets and lies are unfurling.
Vanity's ex-boyfriend is making it hard for her to forget about him, what with a tape that could ruin her life and image. Max is trying to be the opposite of his father, but the more he pushes, the closer he gets to becoming more like him. Dante is still trying to get Vanity to hook him up and to hopefully make it big as an artist. Pippa is getting an offer that someone in her position just can't seem to refuse, and Christina is just as confused as ever, making her even lonelier. With things kept so deep down inside of them, what could possible go wrong?
Kylie Adams makes sure that all those crazy parties and everything wild that goes on in South Beach is featured in BLING ADDICTION. Even though these characters seem so far out there, everyone is definitely able to relate to them, in more ways then one.
In this book; Bling Addiction, Vanity gets dumped by her boyfriend Dante while on a cruise. She gets upset and pushes him of the boat. In other words, Vanity hated to be single so she distracted her self with Dante's "friend" Jay. The truth is, the distraction got so far that Vanity made an inappropriate tape with Jay. It got spreaded even over the news.
My text-to-self connection was that when I was in fourth grade and there was a rumor about me being left back to third grade. Now this rumor was actually spreaded through out the whole school. Every time I walked through those halls everyone would look at me as if I were to stupid to be in fourth grade with the others. I think that this was how Vanity felt like as if she was to stupid to think that Jay was just using her for his own purposes. So basically, me and Vanity both felt pretty stupid about our selves.
I really liked the book. I gave the book 4 stars. And the reason why I gave this book 4 stars is because well the beginning really hooked me in the book. The second reason is because I like books that start off really good. I don't like books that start boring and by the end gets juicy. The third reason is because I didn't feel reading this book. In other words, knowing that this book was inappropriate to write about I felt as if it's just to much for a 13 year old girl like me. And finally, the fourth reason is because the ending didn't really make sense. The person who I would recommend this book to is a person who likes fresh books that are inappropriate.
This is the second book in the Fast Girls, Hot Boys series. The first one in the series was called Cruel Summer.
At the beginning of both books, there is a hinting that one of the Fab Five won't make it to graduation, which is what propels the rest of the book forward and holds most of my interest.
Let me back up a little and introduce the cast. Vanity is beautiful and has social power, but she's got a lot of problems only her psychiatrist knows about. Max is the son of a movie star a bit too obsessed with sex and very protective of his younger sister. Cristina is obsessed with anime and has secret feelings for Vanity. Dante comes from a working-class background but dreams of being the next greatest thing to come to hip-hop. And then there's Pippa, the gorgeous British girl who will do anything to get money, including stripping.
This series is a fast read. There is an overuse of the word "bling" as there is an overuse of the word "cruel" in the first book in the series. There are a lot of mentions of sex, drinking, and drugs, and many of the characters' problems have already been addressed in other books. A lot of the book, including the characters' problems, seems cliché.
I would not recommend it if you are looking for a deep and meaningful read, as this isn't one. However, if you are looking for light summer read that's interesting, this series should be your choice.
This is the second book from the series Fast Girls and Hot Boys. I've read the first book, Cruel Summer, and it was one of the reasons why I chose to continue with this series. In the first book, the five popular students: Vanity, Dante, Max, Christina, and Pippa, were living the rich and famous lifestyle. All they cared about was popularity, sex, money, etc. What made me want to read the second book is because I wanted to find out who didn't make it into graduation, which was mentioned a little in the first book. Throughout this series though, the characters continue to face their problems and it is continuted to be told in the different perspectives. I liked this book because it kept me wanting to know more and kept me thinking of how the characters connected to each other. I feel like this book could be related by other readers because of the way the author puts different point of views from the characters.
Bling addiction is about a group of five friends who one of them is going to die before graduation but the reader doesn't know who it is until the next book. Vanity is a pretty girl who kicks Dante off the boat ans she is going through a lot of drama because a guy video taped her in bed and he broad casted it out and everyone knows. Her friend Max cares for her but can't reach her. He worries about her sister who randomly sees guys. Pippa is a stripper who has a affair with her friend Max's dad but Max doesn't know and she doesn't want him to hate her. Christina is a lesbien and her mom forces her to go to a camp that she doesn't want to go to. All these five teens have different problems and they show how some kids are now a days. They are what we should not be like. Being like them only lead to more problems that can't be solved adn the more problems there are, the harder to solve.
The 2nd novel in the series definitely its dark side with an ominous shadow over the glitzy proceedings that slyly foreshadows what happens in the final chapter of the series.
