The loose tooth by Mayer Mercer
Genre: adventure, comedy, humor Reading level: age 3 and up
Format: good

The loose tooth is a book about the little critter losing his tooth. He is scared and his father tells him to not worry that when his tooth falls out he will get a surprise. His father told him to wiggle his tooth that way the tooth can fall out faster. So the little critter wiggled and wiggled his tooth no matter what he was doing. Until finally his tooth fell off when he was playing softball. The book explains how the little creature felt weird after he lost his tooth and how he got a surprise at the end from his loosing tooth. And how he wanted to go to the candy store to buy candy from the money he got. This book can be used in the classroom so students can relate to the little critter. Especially since every student will lose a tooth and get a surprise one way or another.
