Love this series!

Book 1: Fatal Truth is the first book in the spin-off series to Ms. Evans' Deadly SCVC Taskforce series, and it's a doozy! Savanna and Trace share a common enemy--and unfortunately for them, it just happens to be a guy with seemingly unlimited resources--the most powerful man in the world, the president of the United States.

I loved watching Savanna and Trace grow closer (totally against Trace's will--the poor guy was so determined to hate her for being the reason he'd been languishing in prison yet was totallt committed to fulfilling his duties to Rock Star Security, which meant keeping Van safe) all the while they were desperately trying to find Van's sister and find a way to bring the president down. Ms. Evans kept the tension taut throughout the book; the parts where Van and Trace just missed connecting with Van's sister Parker were particularly stressful!

Throughout the book I was anxious for Trace to finally come clean and reveal to Van who he really was, but at the same time I totally understood why he was so hesitant to. Naturally you know it's all going to bite him in the butt at some point, and you're just keeping your fingers crossed that he'll be able to emerge from the fallout on the other side and somehow convince Van to not hate him forever. (Warning: when he finally does manage to work up to an apology, it's a doozy! ;) )

It was darn near impossibly to put down Fatal Truth once the story really got started. I can't wait to read more from this series--bring it on, Ms. Evans! :)

Rating: 4 stars / A-

Book 2: The second book in the Shadow Force International series (spin-off of the Southern California Violent Crimes Taskforce series) proves that this series is everything that a romantic suspense series should be! Plenty of romance, well-written suspense, and fantastic heroes and heroines will keep you turning the pages...plus, in book two, Harry Potter books play a role. How can you not love that? ;)

Charlotte and Miles have a history--though neither knows the whole truth about the other, and there are secrets galore between them--secrets that could not only keep them apart, but that could get them killed. Clearly not your typical second chance romance story, but the perfect recipe for a romantic suspense that will keep you turning the pages just to make sure that the two of them will come out on the other side (and, even more importantly, come out together). I enjoyed their story so much that I had a hard time putting the book down to do anything/ Sleep? Pshaw. Eat? Well, I can do that while reading, right? And if I pick something easy enough, I don't even have to put the book down for a full minute to do so...

Miles and Charlotte's story takes us from the mountains of Romania to California and back to Romania again. Charlotte's got and impressive list of people after her--MI6 (the Queen apparently would really like her captured and imprisoned) and a Romanian crime lord are hot on her heels, as is one of the last people she ever expected to betray her. She's forced to find Miles not so much because she wants to rekindle what they started almost a year ago (though she does of course, she doesn't think a relationship can ever be in the cards for her) but because he's literally holding the key to proving her innocent of betraying her country. Miles hasn't been able to forget Charlotte, but at the same time has always known that she's been wanted by her former employers. He doesn't want to believe that she's a traitor, but is her word enough, especially when he finds out that she knew more about the death of his entire SEAL team than she'd originally admitted?

Gah! You'll just have to read it to find out :)

Even though it is the second in the series (and most closely connected to #3 in the SCVCT series, Deadly Force, since Beatrice and Cal play a big role in SFI) Fatal Honor would work well as a standalone. Even if you haven't read Beatrice and Cal or Savannah and Trace's stories, the easy way the team members all work together will still make you feel like you're meeting up with old friends again. Which will then probably inspire you to increase your TBR by at least 2--which can only be a good thing, right? ;)

I wasn't quite ready to say goodbye to Charlotte and Miles by the end of the book, but I trust that Ms. Evans will bring them back for Jax's story (Fatal Courage, up next) which made it all much easier to deal with.

Rating: 4 stars / A-

Book 3: Favorite of the series so far! So many twists and turns and layers of truth and lies--not to mention an off-the-charts romance--I just didn't want to put this one down.

I absolutely loved Jax and Ruby. They have a past (including a history of taking time out of their regularly-scheduled saving of the world to do [ahem] *other* things, which they continue here--it was hot, though neither terribly responsible nor believable...but did I mention it was hot? ;)) and at the beginning of the book are very much at odds. She's still on probation because of their last encounter, and he's been sent to find her former partner at the CIA and bring him in--they're not exactly enemies, but there's not exactly a lot of love floating around between them.

But oh, there is a heck of a lot of lust...

As Jax and Ruby get further drawn into the plot, trust begins to develop and lust turns into something more. Ruby is introduced to a lot of the rest of the SFI crew (OMG, I love the dynamics in this group! Absolutely fabulous; even if you haven't read the previous stories, you'd be hard pressed not to love the way they all interact with each other), especially Beatrice (heroine of Deadly Force ), who's a few days past when she was due to give birth to her and Cal's first child and just as scary as ever. Seriously. I love these people.

The last 20% of the book has to be some of the most on-the-edge-of-my-seat reading I've ever experienced--honestly, I don't think even a tornado could have made me put my ereader down once I passed the 80% mark. I mean, I was pretty sure Ruby and Jax were going to make it through, but why tempt fate by letting them out of my sight, right?

Colton's story's next, and we're left up in the air (ha! okay, so maybe *we're* not up in the air, but someone is, LOL) about Beatrice and Cal's baby...now I'm more anxious than ever for the next book in the series to come out... (Fatal Love)

SEALs of Shadow Force Romantic Suspense Series Box Set by Misty Evans, Books 1-3
Misty Evans has created an outstanding set of characters with the Shadow Force International series. Behind the walls of Rock Star Security Services Emit Petit has developed SFI to help people who have nowhere else to turn. Beatrice and her "family" of ex-SEAL or retired SEAL consultants create a world that I wouldn't want to live in but sure loving visiting. The outstanding primary and secondary characters keep the pacing racing forward while capturing the reader's heart. I love the fact that her main characters are up front and strong; they don't play games with one another about their relationship.
In the first book of the series, Fatal Truth, Trace Hunter has been imprisoned for 18 months falsely accused of treason by the one man from whom he cannot protect himself, the President of the United States. When he is released from prison without the knowledge of the justice system his choice is to work for Petit or manage on his own with no money, no other resources and a price on his head. The elements of this complex tale will have you at the edge of your seat and, the zing and sizzle between Trace and his first client heat up the pages as much as the action around them.
Fatal Honor is as thrilling as any book Misty Evans has written and that is a big compliment considering how much I love her writing. When the MI6 agent comes back into his life Miles refuses to allow Charlotte to return to danger alone and hires himself as her bodyguard. Charlotte isn't used to working with anyone else but she can't resist spending time with him even though she wants to protect him from the soulless men she will be tracking. Twists, turns on constant dangers kept me hanging on to my Kindle.
In Fatal Courage, Jax has been assigned to find an imprisoned CIA agent who has escaped. The man's ex-partner Ruby McKellen is his best place to start but Ruby still believes that her long-time partner is innocent and isn't too happy with Jax who turned him in. With different objectives the two work together to locate the missing agent and maybe to prove him innocent. Nature and man seem to block their every effort in their race to discover man and truth.

I read each of the books separately as they came out.

Misty Evans is a USA TODAY Bestselling Author and SEALs of Shadow Force is a bodyguard romantic suspense series. This set includes books 1-3 and introduces Rock Star Security (RSS), and it's covert counterpart Shadow Force International (SFI), each story is a standalone and you do not have to read them in order. These three stories contain well-developed plots, with in-depth strong male and female characters along with a side dish of steamy romance.

Rock Star Security (RSS) is the public image for a special ops team known as Shadow Force International (SFI), while RSS is successful on its own by offering security to mainly rock stars and high profile celebrities. SFI specializes in helping those the government no longer protects. Each book is about one of the RSS bodyguards who boast a rock star code name to protect their identity from the public. The first book, Fatal Truth, is about Coldplay (aka Navy SEAL Lieutenant Trace Hunter ), who RSS breaks out of prison only to offer him a job protecting the very person who ruined his career. However, he did refuse a direct order from the president thus branding him a traitor. Now the sexy reporter, Savanna Bunkett, who turned Trace into a national headline has stumbled upon a government cover-up about a group of super soldiers and needs the type of protection only Trace can provide. Fatal Truth (SEALs of Shadow Force #1) was my favorite of the three books.

The second thrilling novel is Fatal Honor and focuses on RSS security agent Poison (aka former Navy SEAL Miles Duncan). To stop a Romanian crime lord and clear her name, British Intelligence officer Charlotte Carstons has no choice but to track Miles down and ask for his help.

The third book in this box set is Fatal Courage about Navy SEAL Jaxon (Megadeath) Sloan who left the Navy after a mission in Morocco - involving CIA golden girl Ruby McKellen - went south. Now working for Shadow Force International, his new assignment has brought him full circle—the CIA operative that Jax’s testimony sent to prison has escaped and Jax has been ordered to hunt him down. Just like in Morocco, the one thing standing in his way is Ruby.

I have just finished book one , FATAL TRUTH, of this box set, and absolutely loved it. If the others are like it, I will be a fan of Ms Evans forever.
The author grasps your attention from page one, when we are introduced to Trace Hunter. A man that is in a high Federal Security prison convicted for life because he stuck to his principles and then was wrongly accused and marked as a traitor by a tv reporter. Now someone has gotten him out and offers him a job with a prestigious security company.
Trace’s first mission is to act as bodyguard to TV investigative reporter, Savannah Bunkett. The same woman who was instrumental in his imprisonment. She is now being targeted when she starts digging into a top secret program about enhanced soldiers.
Trace keeps his identity hidden, and the more time they spend together, the deeper her falls for her.
This story keeps you on the edge of your seat. The action is constant, the bad guys are everywhere, as are the good guys, and no one is to be trusted. Will Savannah and Trace survive and live to fall in love and have their HEA or will the evil in the government take them down?
I can’t wait to find out what the author has in store in Fatal Honor and Fatal Courage.
I received this ARC copy. The opinions expressed are solely my own.

OMG Times Three!

OMG what a great series of books. I'm seriously addicted to these guys but I think Beatrice might just be my favorite character. Talk about a strong woman but all of her guys are pretty good too. Now to see if I can find the next ones in the series, like I said I'm addicted.

SEALs of Shadow Force 1-3

Three complete standalone stories in one book. Each story has its own happily ever after. Reading the SCVC books is not necessary but is recommended to better understand the stories.
