This is a book I wish I had written. In an easygoing style, this well-researched expository nonfiction book for around 8-12 is extensive and interesting. It makes what could be a dauntingly complex topic simple and fun. Fact boxes with definitions and Did You Know snippets cover the complications in bite-sized chunks. Contents include chapters on what is evolution, Darwin, the evidence, the mechanism, examples in real life, artificial selection and more. Fun and funny drawn illustrations keep the content light-hearted. Back matter includes a quiz, glossary and further learning references. Recommended.
