Plague Wars #5

Drohung im Dunkeln

Rate this book

Following the surrender of Texas the attention of the US turns to Alaska. The Union Party consolidates its power, forcing the President and Vice-President to resign; their replacements are staunch Union members. The Free Communities do what they can to aid Eden under threat.

Two plot threads intersect - Larry Nightingale on a clandestine mission in Europe is captured and Cassandra manages to get Alan denham involved in tracing him. Meanwhile Spooky becomes personally involved when members of his family are incarcerated in the US. Jill Repeth reluctantly agrees to lead her team on a rescue mission.

This might easily have become the 'mixture as before' but manages to avoid that pitfall, while advancing the personal lives of some of the regular cast.

This brings to a close the first sequence of books - the next deals with the reason the Eden virus exists in the first place... (At least judging from the new tagline.)

Another great book in the Plague War series. Jill Rapeth (Reaper) and Skull are back in action and Reapers Rangers go on a rescue mission.. More intirgue than action in this one but a great read and a good fleshing out of the universe -- the world is changing with factions for and against Edens and that is impacting relationships and loyalties.
