Yes I know I rated this 5 stars. Not because it is a literary masterpiece but rather because the three serialized stories contained in the omnibus perfectly capture the essence of all that was good about the original Battlestar Galactica TV series and tremendously improved on the 1980 show. The first two stories are a little Starbuck heavy, but not a bad thing. Lots of action, good humor and Vipers. What more could anyone ask for? Well worth the read.

Going to do something I have never done, but because this book does not have a summary listed here on Goodreads, I am pulling one straight from Amazon:
This massive Omnibus edition collects the complete Classic Battlestar Galactica miniseries (2006), plus BSG: Cylon Apocalypse (2007) and Galactica 1980 (2009).

Felt that was important, because this is really 3 books/graphic novels of content that has been assembled into this large omnibus. I absolutely loved the first two books and would have given this five stars based on those stories. The last story, Galactica 1980, let be down big time. The writers took a direction the commander would have never done and made what should have been an excellent end-game story unbelievable.

Now, the first two stories were truly amazing. For viewers of the original 1978 BG they really brought the series back home in a great way that seemed like they could have been really fantastic episodes (really mini-series) of the original show. They were really fun and had plausible plot lines. I am looking forward to tackling more BG Classic stories soon, and I hope they are all as fun as these to stories. Good read.

While some of the characterizations were off (Commander Adama would never have signed off on a genocide against cylons)and the Galactica: 1980 reimagining was pretty dark, overall I enjoyed this collection of classic BSG tales.
