There was something about watching your best friend die in front of you that changed a man. However, when that friend also had a child on the way by a woman who knew nothing of his true nature, it presented a whole new set of problems.
Now Luke had to find this woman and explain to her that the father of her child was not only dead, but was also a shifter. How hard could it be?

Ashe had always considered herself to be a strong woman, so when her baby’s father disappears she does the only thing she can…she carries on.
With her parents having passed, she’s now back in her childhood home, ready to raise her own child there as well. If only her uncle wasn’t such a nuisance, things would be perfect.
Things start to look up when a new guy in town grabs her attention. It’s just too bad he comes bearing the worst news…her daughter’s father has died, and her baby girl is so much more than she appears.

Luke did his job. He delivered the news of his friend’s death. However, he didn’t count on Ashe being the one sassy, strong-willed woman his wolf would never allow him to walk away from.
Now he not only needs to figure out how to go about wooing a single mom into taking a chance on a lone wolf, but he also has to find out who the strange shifter in town is, and why he’s coming after Ashe.

With a crazy witch, and his old military buddy to help him out, Luke should have no problems...right?

Hello, all! I am a mother of two and am enjoying the pursuit of a writing career. I work full-time in the medical field and spend my down time with family and friends, reading or, (of course) writing. I am currently writing paranormal romance and hope to branch out to Contemporary soon.. The paranormal element allows me to give reality a new depth by integrating paranormal creatures into my everyday world. I mean, come on, who wouldn't want a little excitement added into their everyday life? The Southern/Gulf Coast culture that I have grown up in plays a big part in my writing, forming not only the cultural traits of the characters, but also the ambiance of the geography in many of my stories.
I am new to the writing world, and who knows where it will take me? But I'm having fun nevertheless, and if people enjoy reading my work, then it's all been worth it. HAPPY READING!!

Family and honor

This story loosely touches on one of the horrible side effects of war, the loss of someone, friend or parent. The good part of the story is how a friend, especially a shifter friend, would honor his friend by looking after the mother of his child. The bad part of the story revolves around a less than honorable family member.

I choose to give this book five stars because it had a great story. I liked how he came to tell her something and fell in love. There was drama, laughter, sadness, craziness . Also loved Benson and his mother.

Ashe found herself pregnant and alone after some brief time with a soldier. She thought he just wasn't interested in being a dad and accepted it but was sad for their child. Luke is on a mission to find her and make sure his friend's child is okay. He has to tell her the bad news. He doesn't expect to feel so attracted and connected to her. It becomes very personal to take care of her.

I really enjoyed the story. The author develops the relationship and doesn't rush it. I admired both the characters. They were quick to help others and not place blame. They make a great couple. While there is sadness, there is joy in the thought of the future to come.

I am voluntarily reviewing a copy I received.

This is the first book I have read by Serena Pettus and I have Sassy Ever After: Kindle World (Milly Taiden's world) to thank for this. I really enjoyed this world and especially this book. I love the fact that not only was it about shifters it also talks about real time events like the war. This quote was used several times and really grabbed my attention...
"Some people come into your life, not to stay, but to bring you to the path you were meant to be on."

Ash a human is traveling across the USA and makes extra money as a bartender. She meets Matt and after a little bit of hankie pankie and a broke condom ends up pregnant. Matt and her were only "ships that passed in the night" and while they did talk via text and she let him know about the baby she stopped hearing from him. WhY? She doesn't know.

Matt and Luke are best friends and serve together in the war. Luke was the only person Matt told about Ash and the baby and he trusted him to look after them if anything happened to him. Matt and Luke grew up as pack together. Benson their commanding officer is also a shifter of a different variety and later Luke teams up with him to help out with Ash.

I highly suggest reading this book and this Kindle World for great read.

Serena Pettus spun a amazing story that i couldn't put this one down. Wasn't expecting the twist ans turns that happen through out the book. I was truly wanting more. I loved the quirky personality she gave her Character Ashe. And the sweet caring military guys (shifters). She made it a great book to read and i will be trying more from her

“Some people come into your life, not to stay, but to bring you to the path you were meant to be on. Ashe”

Luke Knew he had to find Ashe Matt would want that and he needed to make sure she was safe and protected. What he never expected was to find his home a place for him to belong because he knew he couldn't go back were he was.

Ashe never thought her life would end up like this a baby and all and she hasn't heard from matt the babies father. While shopping she runs into a hot sexy guy and his friend while some one try's to rob her and and it goes on form there.

“Sweetheart, my mother would beat my head to mush if I ever disrespected a woman.” “Mine too,” Luke agreed. “Besides, I like a woman with a little spunk,” he winked. Was he flirting? “Well, I have sass and ass in spades,” she retorted. “Not a thing wrong with that.”

I received a copy of this story in return for an honest review.

Ashe has found herself pregnant and alone. Luke has lost his best friend. The last thing he asked was that he take care of his child. But first he needs to find her. I enjoyed Ashe and Luke together. In trying to help a friend he found more than he ever expected. How is he going to tell Ashe that shifters exist? And how can he tell the mother of his best friends child that her child is a shifter and she is his mate? Even though her world has been changed I love just how well Ashe handled the knowledge. She handled it much better than most would but that fit her personality. I thought this story was sweet. Ms. Pettus gave us a story that was well written and the characters were well developed. The relationship grew slowly but the story did not drag. I thoroughly enjoyed seeing Luke and Ashe find there way to a happily ever after. This story fit the series and was full of laughter. I enjoyed the secondary characters. They added to the overall story and I hope that Ms. Pettus will give us their story in the future.

Kiss My Sass is a little different than the others in this series of novellas that I have read. There is a lot less sex. This is not a bad thing as Serena Pettus focus’ more on the friendships and relationships. Don’t get me wrong, there is sex and it is the best kind. It is all hot, steamy, and so good it will make your toes curl. But I felt like the friendships were the focus. The friendship of Matt and Luke, the friendship of Luke and Brent, and certainly the friendship of Luke and Ashe are all dominate.

I love that this novella is a standalone. Pick it up in the morning and devour the short story in a few hours (or less if you read fast.) The story has a great cast of characters, an amazing storyline, and a definite ending. There is no cliffhanger, no what ifs, and no waiting for a second book to be released. It was also nice to see Aunt B make an appearance; she’s been appearing in the other Sassy Ever After Kindle World book I have read.

I recommend picking up your copy from Amazon and checking out what this series is all about.

Very Nice ;)

I always feel a lil weird, when I wanna leave a good review for a book that I didn't love but I didn't hate,a book/story that while good didn't really leave w/any strong impact or emotions.... I adore Ms. Pettus's work but this just didn't really do anything for me... Nice story, I really like both Luke and Ashe, the guy on the cover is beyond delicious and I've enjoyed him on many books, but while the story was nice and kinda simple it just never hooked me,I loved how Ashe seemed kinda realistic about things and yet was very reasonable about all she came to learn but he nestle the story was kinda boring and all things considered the uncles reaction was a bit over the top,I mean he could have broken in all those months while Ashe wasn't there with the house was sitting empty and looked for what he wanted and taken off while Ashe was away and Never bothered her...
Not a bad story, just not a lot there...

Loved it..

What do yo do when your best friend dies in your arms and asks that you take care of his baby mama and the child she's about to have..oh yeah..and tell her about being a shifter..tall order.

But Luke can do it. He has a plan, tell, her the truth gradually and then make sure her and the bay are ok, but who knew, he'd find that she was his mate. Fate has a way of keeping a part of his friend forever and finding his HEA in the process. Once they get rid of the threat over Ashe and baby Lily are under, he can proceed with operation, get a family.

This was a great read. The dying friend part had me choked up. I lived Luke's friend Benson and his quirky mom, too funny.

Please Serena, Benson needs a book of his own.

People come into your life for a reason....

This is part of the Sassy World collaboration. Each story is it's own style and tone, but all have the common thread of Blue Creek pack. This "world" has been amazing! Lots of great new to me authors and stories that just blew me away!

Luke was a soldier who made a promise to a friend who made the ultimate sacrifice. Luke promised to look out for his friend's child. So he set out cross country to find the woman who had his friend's cub.

Ashe didn't expect a quick fling to change her life so much. She knew Matt wasn't looking for a relationship, and neither was she. When she got pregnant she wasn't sure what to expect. She told Matt and she never heard from him again.

Lots of feels! Lots of fun! Lots of sass.

Shifter sweetness and magic makes this story of Luke & Ashe so enjoyable. Luke's best friend is dying from his wounds on the battlefield and his last breath makes Luke promise to take care of his girl and child. With the end of service, he finds Ashe and discovers she is his fated mate. Ashe is unaware of the existence of shifters and is in for a shocker, not only of the shifter world but of the nature of her own daughter. An uncle with an air of danger and mystery about him threatens Ashe. Exciting story. Loved the sassy mouth on Ashe and the loving, protective way of Luke. Great cast of characters, interesting and entertaining. I  voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book. Five stars.

Well kiss my sass.

OMG another one of my favorites. This is Luke and Ashe's story. Ashe is a human who had a fling with a wolf shifter. Luke lost his best friend but not before promising to look after the girl he got pregnant. When Luke meets Ashe he knows immediately she's his mate. How will she take hearing not only is Matt gone but he was a shifter and so is her daughter if that's not enough oh yea your also my mate. Lol poor Luke has his work cut out for him. But with some one after Ashe will Luke get a chance for his happily ever after or will it be snatched away.
