I'd give this book a 3.75. it was very entertaining. I picked this book up in St Augustine on vacation. I was able to recognize many of the buildings that were discussed. I happened to go on a ghost tour and the book discussed local folklore. It was interesting. Many of these stories we're similar... Yet the names of people were not traceable. I liked it. Interested in reading the authors other book based on New Orleans.

He's an amazing writer because he combines two interesting subjects: amazing historical events and the paranormal. He doesn't bore you like history books do, he intrigues you into reading and learning more. The paranormal isn't too crazy or over-the-top but true and honest as told from locals, just like you were sitting there chatting with someone at a bar and the conversation suddenly got interesting. I personally based my first trip to New Orleans around James Caskey's haunted New Orleans book and it was incredible. I also know for a fact that the Charleston book is accurate, as my family is from Charleston and well, there's just some things you know. Looking forward to the next one, James!
