In July of 2014, Dan, Eddie, and Govs sat at a bar talking shit about making beer. Two years later, they’d opened their own brewery on the Gold Coast in Australia called Black Hops. It’s been an epic journey, from “the little situation” in China, to a collaboration with the biggest entertainment franchise on earth, and finally—launching a brewery. Operation Brewery tells their story and gives you every last detail on how to build your own brewery on a budget. Most brewing books focus on how to make a good beer. To start a brewery in 2016 and beyond, it's no longer enough to make good beer. Any business is as much about planning and marketing as it is about the product you make. Great summary of how they built the basics of a brewery. A bit detailed on some aspects and too quick on others. Useful information overall. I consumed this book through the audiobook version and the recording was really bad... One of the writters decided to record himself, and when that happens the result is not always interesting. While I'm not used to the Australian accent, the real issue is that he speaks too fast and I had to slow down the audio to about 80% to better understand. There are also many mispronounced words that are corrected on the fly, with no edits whatsoever. This matches with the spirit of the story when it comes to "we did it ourselves to reduce costs", but the fact is that I actually paid for the audibook and would appreciate an actual professional reading it. Other than that, this is indeed a great book and a must-read for anyone interested on such business.

What a great story about the journey of getting a brewery from a cool idea over a few drinks to a functioning business. And dealing with the myriad of issues that arise. The BlackHops team surely earned their success.

Цікавий в цілому щоденник побудови крафтового бізнесу. Є місцеві особливості звісно, але загальні кроки згодяться всім, хто думає про власну пивоварню.
