When a local heiress goes missing, Danielle discovers it’s not always possible to distinguish the living from the dead. To complicate matters, it seems Danielle is not the only one who communicates with spirits. Her new guest claims to hear Walt. But, something’s not quite right with Marlow House’s newest medium. Danielle must move quickly before her best friend joins the spirit world.
I read these books specifically for Walt and Danielle and instead I gotta deal with Joe Morelli showing up all the time to be condescending, entitled and controlling. Worst of all, every single character keeps making up excuses for him, calling him a good man and a nice guy. Give me a break. Bobbi Holmes needs to do better.
It's taking me longer than usual to get back to the series after absolutely loving the forst one but feeling Luke warm for the second. Unfortunately I did the same with this one. It's not a bad series but just don't seem to have that little extra. Might continue though as it started to get interesting by the end of this
I love this series! Danielle and Lilly are such great characters. Walt is also a favorite of mine as well. The storyline in this book had me hooked! I know when I pick up any of these books, they’re going to be good. I’m so glad there’s so many in the series. I can’t wait to start the next one.
The Ghost Who Wasn't By Bobbi Holmes This is an entertaining story about a gal that runs a B&B but also sees ghosts. She gets a pair of guests that are there to rob her. The man is partly psychic, too. Thir greed ends up getting them caught.
Surprised this book series has published so many. Sure, there are several (oddly connected) murder mysteries, however they aren't that well written or thought out. Plus, these books are incredibly misogynistic. How have so many books in this series been published? Shocking how dimissive of animal cruelty the author is, as well as portraying the police officer characters as being violent, judgemental, close-minded, misogynistic, and generally incompetent and callous.
I was on the fence with continuing this series after not loving book #2 but I’m won back over with this #3. This one has a much better story and I’m really becoming attached to some of the character and feel more invested in knowing what else happens to them! A fun read!
4.5 Stars... Lily literally finds herself having an out of body experience when she is the unfortunate victim of a brutal car jacking... Danielle races to save her best friend and finds herself in the middle of another murder mystery etched with family betrayal... With the help of Walt, Ian, and Lily, Danielle figures out the clues and avoids the inside of a prison cell once again... With a great mix of humor, mystery, and romance, Bobbi Holmes gives her readers another fun and thrilling read:)
This third book in the Haunting Danielle series had several ghostly apparitions, some vicious criminals, and a missing heiress. While I enjoyed the book, I was furious over the entire part where horrible people try to sell the dog Sadie to be used as bait in dog fights. Every person involved in watching, betting, or any part of animal fights should be stripped, thoroughly thrashed, chained up and left in the desert; I hope there's a special place in hell for them all.
Another totally delightful book in this series. A great combination of paranormal and cozy mystery. My only problem with the audiobook is that the reader only has 2 voices- one for all the male characters and one for the female, making it difficult at times to know who’s talking. However that is not going to make me stop listening.
2.75 stars (Audible). Better than the last one, but only marginally. Still irritated by some of the characters. Felt uncomfortable at the Russian typecasting. I can't believe there are 33 books in this series. Maybe the next will determine if I stay or if I go.
The Ghost Who Wasn’t by Bobbi Holmes Rating: 4.5 stars Trigger Warning: murder Things don’t stay quiet for long in Danielle Boatman’s life. A local heiress goes missing while she’s attending her cousin’s Cheryl’s funeral. Shortly after that her best friend, Lily goes missing. Questions surround both girls disappearances and Danielle gets a visit from Lily in a ghostly form. Except she’s not quite a ghost yet. Plus, throw in some unsavory house guests and Danielle racing against a clock to prove that Lily isn’t dead. I’m still in love with the paranormal aspect of this series. At this point, it’s obvious that Walt likes Danielle and even though he’s a ghost I keep waiting for some kind of romance to blossom between the pair. I also like that this story centers on Lily for a good part of it. Lily is a major character in the two previous books but I feel like we don’t get to hear from her enough in those books. The problems I found with this book aren’t necessarily with the writing. I don’t like the narrator for the audiobooks (which I picked up the audiobook instead of the ebook this time). The narrator’s voice is fine until she does a voice for any female character. She does the type of high pitch, annoying voice for the female characters that makes me want to slap them for their voice alone. Furthermore, the only issue I have with the plot of these books is that they are very predictable. You can figure out who’s quilty from a mile away. I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to continue the series. It’s an excellent continuation of a light mystery series. Again I would recommend it to anyone who likes paranormal ghost stuff like I do.
This is the 3rd installment of this series and I was a bit disappointed. Danielle truly seems to make mistakes left and right, Ian did not seem too upset about Lili’s “supposedly” passing, Joe and Bryan have gotten worse with every story. While I liked the idea of the story I felt like Danielle could’ve handled everything better. That’s just my opinion. Otherwise I still love and enjoy this series.
DNF. I am seriously getting tired of Danielle being accused of murder, everyone yelling about how much she can afford a high class lawyer yet she does not HIRE A LAWYER. Suspend logic to the point of absurd. Please, Danielle, just write a stinkin confession and get it over with! Gahhh-ahhh!
1. Danielle is gonna need extreme therapy after all of this is over 2. Walt is bae 3. Absolutely love Lilly 4. This town is wild AF 5. I’m addicted to this series
I think this is the best one yet. I did not predict the ending. It is such a cozy, spooky mystery. It’s not scary at all definitely give ghost whisperer vibes with a little more mystery.
This one Danielle got into lots of trouble one twist after another she got more into trouble. Lily her best friend was missing but suddenly she appeared and Danielle with Walt thought Lily was dead. It turns out Lily was in a coma after they broke into Isabella's rich uncle's house the other dead woman. After Danielle gets arrested because Joe is bent on thinking Danielle is mentally stressed he doesn't give her a chance to explain Omg I want to slap Joe the police officer ughhh After Isabella gets found in the Marlow Crypt Joe realized it was Lily
Joe refuses to believe Danielle had a hunch for all the events that occurred .....ugh so annoying ....
And Joe in the hospital when he thought it was the nurse lol Danielle was talking to Lily's ghost Joe listens instead and caught her talking to herself lol😂 Oh god Danielle can't catch a break with herself and Joe
Lily wakes up from her coma and continues the conversation as if she was listening Joe said incredulously she heard you And that's when Danielle said to Joe "did you think I was talking to myself " lol😂
Then later Joe finds a bracelet in the teapot, that is Isabella's and again Danielle is in trouble with Joe. Omg
In the end it all worked out, but it was one twist after another. And at least the chief understood Danielle.

Loved loved LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVED this one! I don't care what those negative reviews say, I absolutely loved this one! As for those complaining about Joe, I don't see anything wrong with him. As Adam said at some point, Joe isn't very smart at times hahaha and yet it was Joe's partner Brian I couldn't stand. Joe and the police chief are the only ones I love in the police force, but again, it's the Brian guy I can't stand ugh! I will say this much: even though I honestly would love to see Danielle and Joe hook up, I now kind of want to see her and Adam Nichols hook up instead especially since she turned to him once or twice in this book. I could totally see those two getting together.
Overall, I'm so glad I decided to pick this series up when I did and discovered these on Libby and now I'm hooked big time! The narrator is also really good and makes the characters fun, while at the same time, these are fun cozy mystery books. Although heads up: after this third book, it's best if you totally read these IN ORDER because of the side ongoing story with the main characters and whatnot. It's like the TV show 24 with Keifer Sutherland; you can't just watch a random episode of that show thinking you're going to understand it or whatnot since it's literally an ongoing story for an entire season (hence it being 24 hours and 24 episodes) and so it is with this book series. Read them in order and it'll make it a lot more fun. I can't wait until each book comes in on Libby and people better hurry it up with these books cause I'm getting antsy and wanting to jump into the next one now. Waiting sucks, but I have a feeling it'll be worth it.
This is the third book in this series I was trying to give it one more chance but how many times can the main character be accused of murder before the storyline gets old. It was almost like I already knew what the book was going to say before I read it because of the previous two books then I read the summary of book four and decided yes I am done with this series you cannot possibly be accused of murder that many times and yes in the next book She's accused again
When Danielle Boatman comes home to the B & B, she's shocked to see her best friend Lily there! Lily is supposed to be in California. She's a teacher and schools start after Labor Day, so why is Lily here? And where is Lily's car, and the rest of her stuff? But Dani's confusion, is suddenly cleared up, but that only means the problems are just starting. Can Danielle find Lily before it's too late?
If you like books that reproduce the experience of binge-watching a soap opera, have I got a series for you! Seriously, I mean that in the kindest way possible. The plot moves so slowly and information is repeated so often that there’s never any danger that you’ll miss something important. I’m finding these ghost books incredibly relaxing, bordering on hypnotic. Especially the detailed descriptions of virtually everything the characters wear, eat, and do. The bonus? There are literally dozens more after this one!
Best book in the series so far! I loved this one!!! Reminded me of the book If Only It Were True by Marc Levy. and the movie based on it called Just Like Heaven starring Reese Witherspoon and Mark Ruffalo
This one could easily be made into a star studded movie. It’s great!
4.5⭐ I loved this one because it annoyed me so much! The new characters were really making me mad too! And Joe. Ugh. Don't get me started on him. I neeeeed to keep reading this series to find out what happens next!
This is a good series but there's some times when the obvious thing is ignored or not said makes it a tad frustrating. Otherwise it's well written and has some good twists.
