Kim Teague is a wonderful writer and this is an excellent romantic suspense novel. Superbly crafted with well-developed characters and an intriguing storyline, The Secret of Jenny's Portrait is one of the most solidly written stories in this genre I've read in a long time. I was especially impressed with the interwoven romance (sometimes in suspense novels it feels a little forced). The interaction/romance was natural and believable. I highly recommend this book to readers who love romantic suspense, and I look forward to reading more novels by Kim Teague.

To begin, I could not finish this book. The Secret of Jenny’s Portrait by Kim Teague was published in 2016, and while it starts with a bang, the story quickly fizzles. While I have no qualms reading books with spiritual or religious undertones, I think Christian fiction that weave these themes into the text subtlety are much more effective and moving.

Unfortunately, the random insertions of Christian proclamations during character dialogues remove any nuance from the scenes.

This book was a selection from our local book club and the author is local as well. Interesting story line. I enjoyed the references to the FBI and the CIA. Story seemed a little contrived in spots but it kept my interest. My favorite character was Aunt Martha. Give our local author support. Looking forward to the discussion of this book.

A traffic accident, a murder, a kidnapping, terrorists, the CIA, the FBI, theft, bombs, can we add the kitchen sink?
A local author's first book, self published. Will not read another book by this author. If this had not been a book club choice, I would not have finished it!
