The Durango Affair

"I'M HAVING YOUR BABY."

Savannah Claiborne's simple statement set off an avalanche in Montana ranger Durango Westmoreland's carefully ordered life. Suddenly, an unforgettable night of passion with the hazel-eyed beauty had turned into a lifetime of obligation for the confirmed bachelor.

But Westmoreland men always honored their responsibilities, and leaving Savannah to raise his baby on her own was not an option. So he proposed and she accepted...with one condition: Theirs would be an in-name-only marriage.

Durango agreed. For now.

Savannah and Durango meet at Chase and Dana's wedding and hit off. Their one night stand leads to an unexpected pregnancy, and the book starts with the couple trying to deal with it by marrying in "name only".
As these books usually go, love intervenes and the couple fall for each other.
This book mostly revolved around the couple dealing with their feelings and nothing much happening around them.
A sweet read.

Good book. Durango Westmoreland and Savannah Claiborne met at the wedding of his cousin Chase to her sister Jessica. Their attraction was instant and intense, and they snuck away from the reception to enjoy it. Two months later, Savannah shows up at his Montana ranch to let him know she's pregnant.

Durango was stunned at the news and reacted like a complete jerk. Years earlier, he'd fallen for a city woman who had used and manipulated him, destroying his trust in women. With that at the back of his mind, his suspicious and dismissive comments made his opinion clear. Savannah was hurt and furious. She came to tell him in person because it was the right thing to do, but she didn't need him. I loved seeing her push back and walk away.

But it isn't over. Durango quickly realizes that the baby is his, he acted like a jerk, and as a Westmoreland, he has to step up and take responsibility. He immediately goes after Savannah and catches up with her at the airport, where she's just learned all flights are canceled because of an impending blizzard. Durango offers the use of his guest room and says it will give them a chance to talk.

Durango wants to be involved in Savannah's pregnancy and their baby's life. He proposes that they marry now and plan to divorce when the baby is six months old. Savannah is wary. She doesn't believe in love and marriage thanks to her father and doesn't see the need to marry Durango. He eventually wins her over when he agrees that it will be a marriage in name only. This made me laugh because it's clear that he wants her back in his bed.

The sparks of attraction between Durango and Savannah are just as intense as before. Durango accepts it and plans to use the attraction to get her back in his bed while she's living there. Savannah also feels the sparks but believes that she can resist them. It was fun to watch her try to fight the battle against Durango's campaign of sexy kisses. Eventually, they give in to the power of the attraction, both believing that it's just for fun while they are together. With their time together and getting to know each other, the attraction deepens into stronger feelings. Both fight hard against admitting those feelings until forced to do so in conversations with others. I loved those conversations - Durango and Jared, and Savannah and Jessica - who brought the voice of experience to the situation.

Thanks to a document Savannah received in the mail, there's a bit of a hiccup in the prospect of a future together. Believing Durango doesn't share her feelings sends her fleeing into the teeth of a blizzard. I loved Durango's big moment and the emotional confession of his feelings. The epilogue was fantastic. I loved the big family get-together and Durango's meeting with the other Westmoreland men. I especially enjoyed the tagline, "Which one of you will be next?"

Sweet story! Durango and Savannah met when his cousin, Chase, married Jessica, Savannah's sister. Durango is a die-hard bachelor because a sleazy gold-digger once stomped on his heart. However, when an unplanned pregnancy brings Savannah from Philadelphia to Durango's Montana home, things just got real! I just love the way all of the Westmoreland's come together and support one another.

Very formulaic, but it works for Brenda Jackson, so why change? Recommended for those who desire a slow and easy read. No major drama, just Hallmark Channel type romance. No muss, no fuss.

Buy it, read it and enjoy.👍🏾🔥👍🏾🔥👍🏾🔥👍🏾🔥

I thought the Madaris made my blood simmer, but these Westmorelands are working it too, especially Durango! Well another confirmed bachelor bites the dust! I've learned when Ms Jackson labels them bachelor for life, watch out because the label will evaporate when the right woman materializes.

For Durango, the right woman is Savannah Claiborne, the biracial half sister of his cousin Chase's new wife, Dana. An impromptu trist on Chase's wedding day, brings a pregnant Savannah to Montana to deliver the news in person.

Needless to say womanizer Durango does not take the news well. Savannah, not feeling the love, hastily leaves to return to Philadephia only to be "temporarily" detained by the unpredictable Montana weather.

Well, the blizzard, coupled with raging hormones and that fine specimin of a man, Montana begins to look pretty good to Savannah. Likewise, Durango's honor as a Westmoreland kicks in and he too is overcome by the living conditions and soon realizes there is more between them than just a baby.

Not much of a second story line in this novel. Just a solid love story that really kept your interest. After reading Chase's tale, I needed a good Westmoreland love story to bring me back in the fold.

This was ok. It was nice to be back in this world. I just found it to be a bit rushed. Durango and Savannah got together and her sister's wedding to Durango's cousin and she became pregnant after missing one birth control pill. Two months later, she decides to go and tell him to his face, but didn't want any help or anything from him, just thought he should know. He didn't take kindly to this and proposed marriage until after the baby is born, so that the child is not illegitimate. She reluctantly agrees, and it goes from there.

I see the lust, I just didn't see the love. Stuff happens outside of the words and from things he does for her (that you aren't really told about or it's vague) she falls head over heels in love with Durango. Within less than a month. A bit too rushed.

4 stars. This one was so good. These books just get better and better. I loved this so much. Forced proximity due to a snowstorm, unplanned pregnancy (which I can take or leave most of the time, but it definitely worked here) and a marriage of convenience this had a lot going for it. The characters were fantastic. I loved Durango and Savannah and they are both such great characters and I loved their relationship and chemistry. They tried so hard to fight the mutual attraction so when they finally gave in it was very rewarding. I adore this series and I look forward to reading the next one.

An excellent read!

Brenda S. Jackson keeps my group Dare To Dream on it's toes. They are going to love this book as they have all of the many others from this series as well as the other books that she has written. Durango is my kind of man, all of them are. You will enjoy this book.

While this book is good, I have come to realize that the Westmoreland series is very typical of what people think of when they think about romance novels. Most of the book happens within a span of two week and while I love a love story, I want it to be a bit more realistic.

It was good but books in this series are really feeling very formulaic. The heros and heroines are feeling like the same character book after book, they all seem to have same hangup of an ex that hurt them and both hero and heroine don't want to marry. P.

Another one down

The author's works are just what I need. She can write scenarios about the staunchest bachelors in different situations and have the bachelor give up his card that melted in the love.

The Durango Affair is another great story that adds to The Westmoreland Series. Savannah and Durango have a fierce attraction to one another when they meet at Chase & Jessica's wedding. Months later, Savannah makes the trip to Montana to tell Durango that she's pregnant. You can always count on The Westmoreland men to take responsibility for their actions. They agree to a marriage in name only. It was extremely entertaining watching Durango and Savannah try to keep their attraction at bay. Everyone knows, there is no resisting a Westmoreland! Another fantastic read by Brenda Jackson.

Another Westmoreland bachelor bites the "wedded-bliss" dust. Durango Westmoreland vowed to never give his heart to another woman after a smooth city slicker chewed him up and spit him out all in the name of manipulation and her feeling that he was beneath her social class. However, when ranger Durango met Savannah at his cousin Chase and Jessica's wedding all bets were off even though neither one of the knew. A must read to discover how this sexy vixen captured his heart 'till death do them part! Awesome love story.

It was an average story, and quite frankly I'm used to better from this author.....while I haven't read many at this point, and I am reading them out of order, all have been above average. Also, I don't know if reading them out of order is affecting the impact of the characters on my investment in the story either.

Savannah was not backing down from Durango no matter how much he tried to force her. She made the sexy lawman stand down and take it like a man on his own turf. These Westmoreland's are killing me with their proposal's or terms. By the time they realize what's going on their already in too deep. Great read.

The Durango Affair. I enjoyed this book! The characters were enjoyable. Durango gets a visit from Savannah letting his know that the one night stand they had turned into more than a one night stand. She came to Montana to let him know he is going to be a father. He accepted but decided to marry her in name only for the baby's sake. Can it stay that way?

Another fun read from the Westmorelands. What I really liked about this one was that it was not insta-love. It took these two a second to figure out that they were in love. Usually someone figures it out in the first two chapters but this one had a lot of build up which I enjoyed.
