#readHarderchallenge2021 - task 14: A realistic YA book not set in the U.S., UK, or Canada
The book is set in Israel and it's pretty realistic - girl meets boy kinda thing.
I keep forgetting that Liat Rotner's books have too many points of view, the teacher that has too many things to say, same as the volunteer who shows only once in the book, they both have points to view to light the two main characters, there are benefits to it - you got to see all kind of angles, but the main disadvantage is that exactly, you keep ping pong between them, even in one chapter there are at least 3 of them, sharing their thoughts.
The second thing that bugged me was the so-called love story, unrealistic in my opinion and it took its time to brew, and then in the 3 last pages, it rushed into blossom, then it was all over. I know it wasn't all about the love story, it supposes to be about growing up and dealing with real issues, but if you decide to tell it, don't rush it in the last pages.
A few of the secondary characters didn't get full disclosure. To summarize, it was okay.
