If your favourite hero must be some alpha, this book isn't for you.

Different book, I'd say this book is reversed almost virgin heroine+manho hero....

Sometimes it's was difficult to understand some expressions and words, I'm not native, but it's not author's fault.

If you like awkward, shy, tender hero this story is for you. The hero was virgin till 35, then he had massive heart attack and he changed his lifestyle drastically: supervised meals, gym with personal trainer... His brother "helped" him not to die virgin- he put him with escort, she was his sex teacher. For some years he was celibate until he met our heroine.
Sometimes it bothered me that he was too shy, too good educated just to defend himself from bullies. I wish he'd had more strength.

Our heroine is a fighter, she was in marriage and her husband cheated on her. She wasn't celibate after, had some ONS. I liked her a lot!
Together they were adorable!
I'll read more books from this author, this one was my first and I liked it a lot!

This was an enjoyable story. I liked Bridget and Nolan and thought their story was good overall. This is the first book I've read by this author and I may try more of her work in the future. There are secondary characters in here from previous books and reading the earlier books probably would have allowed me to connect more with the extra characters but I think the story did alright as a standalone.

Bridget is a 32 year old woman from Boston that is trying to get back into female fighting (MMA type stuff) after an absence. Bridget was married to Kevin but he was a lazy musician that cheated on her with another fighter...after making moves that kept Bridget from making the most of her career at the time.

Nolan is a 37 year old man that used to be a chef but quit and moved to office work when he had a massive heart attack at work. He's been trying to eat right and exercise and he's lost a lot of weight but still sees himself as fat. Oh, and he has a fat cat that he walks on a leash! (I just loved that part)

Bridget normally doesn't act as a trainer but she ended up filling in for her boss for a few sessions with Nolan. They get along fine but the mutual attraction really doesn't become obvious right away and it takes a bit for things to spark between them. Bridget only helps Nolan with 2 sessions but once that's over, they run into each other at times. Nolan is attracted to Bridget and vice versa but he's shy enough to have problems asking her out and he still sees himself as fat so his confidence isn't the greatest. Bridget is interested though and with enough chance encounters/pushing from friends and family, Nolan finally asks her out.

In the mean time, Bridget is scheduled for an upcoming fight and the woman she's fighting is the woman Bridget's husband cheated on her with and left her for. Bridget is quite anxious to get a rematch (they'd fought years before), even if the situation is kind of messed up. It doesn't help that Kevin decides he misses her and starts calling Bridget (much to her chagrin) wanting to "be friends". Like she's just going to roll over and do whatever he wants...ugh! There are a number of things that seemed a bit confusing because they weren't fully explained or seemed to be brought up for no reason at all...like Nolan's family situation and the elusive past between Kevin and Bridget (to name a few). Things do work out well in the end though and Bridget and Nolan end the story starting a HEA together.

This was an enjoyable story. Bridget and Nolan were both pretty good MCs. There were some points about them both that I felt was a bit lacking but I think that's more the gaps in the story itself...like I'm still confused about the background between Kevin and Bridget and what happened during their 5 year separation. It's funny because it's like the author went into too much details in some areas (seemingly just adding clutter to the story) but didn't add enough detail in other areas (liked Bridget and Kevin's past). I ended the story with some unanswered questions (nothing that really affected the ending) but I did like the story overall. :)

Oh, did I ever enjoy this one!!!

I wasn't quite sure what to expect with a female fighter, she is a first for me as I don't normally gravitate to MMA romances (with the exception of this series of course!). Bridget was just the perfect combo of smart, sweet and kick ass!! I loved how she was strong when she needed to be, but it didn't overwhelm her personality, so she was still someone I could relate to.

And Nolan..... sigh....4% into the book and he was my new bookboyfriend. A man with a cat just does it for me ;-) He's a gentle sexy giant, and I just loved every part of his character. It was refreshing to have a hero be vulnerable like he was, and I loved his story.

I've mentioned this before on previous DS Fight Club reviews.... Don't let the MMA deter you from one clicking this series if you aren't usually into sports romances! The books really are all about the love stories, character development and happy endings... the MMA is the backdrop/context and the violence is minimal.

*although, a side effect from reading this series, you may become interested in the sport! I just watched my first boxing match last weekend and I give credit to Josie, since I actually understood some of it and enjoyed it! hehe

Nolan is a gentle giant, vulnerable and shy until he meets Bridget. Bridget is working on her career still recovering from her marriage breakup, she is strong and sassy but also empathetic. Having stepped in as cover for a training session for Nolan something sparks between them, she somehow understands something about this man and he about her. I really enjoyed this story of both characters not just getting to know each other but also finding new balance in their work and careers, regaining control and not taking nonsense from people in their pasts. It is different and great having a woman as not just the fighter but the stronger character role, Nolen steps up if needed to support her but only till she can kick butt. I read this as part of a box set that I was fortunate to win in a giveaway and my review is honest and completely voluntary, I am still reading the other books in this set but enjoyed this so much I wanted to leave a review while story is fresh in my mind.

2.5 stars. This is my first by this author, and I’m not sure if it’s because this is #6 in the series, but I couldn’t connect with the characters and the story was very disjointed. It had sweet moments and some moderate heat, but overall not my taste.

All I can say is Nolan stole my heart! It was nice to read a story about someone working to make themselves better and finding someone to fall in love with that helps lift them up. Nolan and Bridgette were a delight to read about. They were so sweet and uplifting for each other. Nolan's cakes made me want to bake in my own kitchen. Their story was a wonderful addition to the series.

I never give books five stars but this just has everything I like, a huge teddy bear male lead who blushes, strong female lead who’s a fighter. She’s literally a bad ass. And loved the smut. Good accents, relatable characters. Not too long. Obvious HEA, and a mostly fluffy story. Overall great read
