The Catch is the second book in The Eastern Shore Swingers Series by Phoebe Alexander. This book is a wonderful contemporary romance that takes us on a journey into the world of swinging, so if you don’t like sexy, steamy, and erotic- then this probably isn’t the book for you!
But, having said that, don’t let the ‘swinging’ part of the story put you off reading this really great story, because if you go into it with an open mind you will be surprised by what you’ll find under the cover of this superb story, there is much more to the story than the erotic elements. There is depth and substance.
Paisley Parker is new to town and has been hired as a manager for the Factory (Private Swingers Club). She’s the definition of sex-bomb: a curvy burlesque dancer from New York. She doesn’t do relationships, only indulging in casual hook-ups. But is there more to her story? Is her confidence masking a deeper vulnerability?
In an effort to develop a website for the Factory, Paisley hires someone with the expertise to get the job done right. Enter Calvin Mitchell. He’s immediately drawn to her and would like to see where their mutual attraction may lead. So, what happens when this one-woman-man meets this wild and sexy woman? What happens when he learns about the club and the ‘lifestyle’? What about their age difference? And what happens when the past returns to haunt her?
This story is really well written, DUH- it’s Phoebe Alexander! There’s drama, emotion, passion, erotica, some suspense, surprises, friendship, connections, and lots of steam. The characters were wonderful and went through some development and growth over the course of the story. Once again Ms. Alexander has produced a enticing and sex-positive story, that drew me in right from the get-go.

When you first start this book, you are introduced to Paisley as she is starting her new job in the town she has just recently moved to. Now you will come to find that Paisley has quite a few personal issues that she is going to have to work through in this book before she can ever truly be happy. She is a truly wonderful person who doesn't realize it because of how she was done in the past and while she has a ton of people around her who try to convince her otherwise, it doesn't really sink in until later on in the book. A couple of chapters in she meets Calvin, who is a web designer. She tells him that she doesn't date, but that doesn't stop him from trying to win her over. He is an amazing man who would do anything for Paisley. Watching as this couple hits hurdle after hurdle is somewhat heartbreaking, but it is also heartwarming because it shows you that no matter what love can overcome all odds. Please know that this book does not end of a cliffhanger and that the couple is a wonderful couple who falls in love in their own way. I absolutely loved this book and now have a new author to read from.

This is a heroine I really can relate to - at least when it comes to her womanly figure and her sass and how she rocks the body she has without shame. Not quite when it comes to what she did in her past, but she is very ashamed (and rightfully so) about it and it comes back to haunt her just when she thinks she has the life she always dreamed of, friends, a very good and interesting job and that special someone who might or not be more than a friend... The hot scenes are smokingly so and there is romance and laughter too, but quite some suspense, chilling and dramatic, nailbitingly so. I'd love to read more about Casey, she really grew on me in this book and it was nice to hear more about Leah and her Captn from the first book, how they live their HEA, I really liked that.

Her back and forth with Calvin is the stuff of great romance movies. Even when you think you know what going to happen, Pheobe throws a twist into the story that you don't see coming

The story The Catch (Eastern Shore Swingers Book 2) by Phoebe Alexander is a suspense/romance book. This is a story that draws you in from the very beginning and I didn’t want to put it down until I had read the final page. The book includes a secret club for those who live a certain lifestyle. It does a good job of providing details on how the club looks and also has scenes about what goes on there. I enjoyed reading about the characters of Paisley Parker and Calvin Mitchell. Paisley helps manage the club. She is new to Ocean City and to her job. She finds that it is different in the way that those that own the club include her in their personal life. She is smart and independent. People are drawn to her as she shows confidence in herself and the way she looks. Paisley doesn’t do relationships. She does hook-ups or friends with benefits. What happens when she meets a man who wants to pursue a relationship with her? Calvin is smart, kind, and owns his own business. He is quite clear about his feelings for Paisley. He is drawn to her. He wants not only her body but her heart, mind, and soul as well. While Paisley can’t deny the attraction that she has for Calvin and that he invades her thoughts she has always relied on herself. Then her past comes back to haunt her and she finds herself turning to Calvin for help. He is protective of her. What does the future hold for the two of them? Will he be able to convince Paisley to start a relationship with him? Read this story to find out. I like that Paisley and Calvin both care about and want to protect each other. They are characters that you want to find happiness. There are parts of this story that are suspenseful and had me wondering what was going to happen next. There are also some very steamy scenes included throughout the book. I enjoyed reading about the other characters that are introduced in the story as well. This is the second book in a series and can be read as a standalone. It is a wonderful read and a book I would highly recommend.

The Catch by Phoebe Alexander is the 2nd book in The Eastern Shore Swingers Series. It follows on from Fisher of Men but can be read as a stand-alone. Fisher of Men totally blew me away as it was nothing like anything I’d ever read before and The Catch is no different. Set around a swinger club you would expect a lot of sex in the book, but the sex scenes are totally of the charts HOT. My eyes have been totally opened by this series of books. There is so much more to the swinger lifestyle than I even knew possible.
This story centres around Assistant Manager of the club (The Factory) Paisley Parker and Calvin Mitchell who she hires to design a website for the club. Paisley is a larger than life character in many ways. She is a larger lady who is so comfortable in her own body. I have to say that I admire Paisley so much for her attitude towards her larger body. She’s very much ‘if you’ve got it, flaunt it’. Paisley has a troubled past and has moved away from home and changed her name to start her life afresh.
Calvin is very much the opposite to Paisley. Son of an African American father and white mother, Calvin had a fantastic childhood, brought up in a loving family. Calvin is very much a gentleman with impeccable manners and has no interest in being involved in the lifestyle.
When someone from Paisley’s past contacts her to blackmail her through the website that Calvin created, the 2 are forced together. Both are attracted to each other but whereas Calvin is looking for a monogamous relationship, Paisley doesn’t do relationships and is actively involved in the lifestyle and enjoys having several sexual partners with no strings attached.
This is an amazing story filled with drama and intrigue as they try to get to the bottom of who is blackmailing Paisley and threatening the club. The growing relationship between Paisley and Calvin is filled with so much angst. Although they are so different you can’t help but pray that they can resolve their differences and have a happily ever after.
I loved this book as much as the first book in the series and I’m now looking forward to diving into book 3, Siren Call.

First, What can I say about this author that I haven't already said or that hasn't already been said about her to stress just how much I appreciate her and absolutely love reading her words? She is amazing, awesome, brilliant, and every other positive descriptive word there is and one of the reasons for this is...this series deals with a lifestyle and lifestyles that I truly have no interest in knowing more about, I have no problem with any of them it's just not for me and some of the subjects that Phoebe writes about normally do not keep my interest and I find my mind wandering instead of focussing on the reading..So with that said, in answer to what can I say about this author it is simple...She's a flipping genius because I open these book full of these stories and i'm lost in her world till the very last word is read. How she does this I have no clue but my appreciation for her goes way way beyond words..
So now on to this story...I loved and completely understood and could relate with Paisley in this book to a point. I wish in my past I could have had half her strength and just a touch of her self esteem...She is awesome and has become one of my favorite leading ladies. Then there's Calvin, sigh…… Again...another reason I loved this and most of this authors books is because you could actually see yourself being friends with the characters she writes because they are so so real, with real emotions and real struggles and I love this.
I loved the mystery and suspense in this story and some scenes were off the charts holy moly give me a bucket of ice water stat moments and I loved seeing Leah and Cap and check in on their continuing story…
I have so completely read these books out of order and that's something I just have to work on but it in no way got in the way of each individual book...I love them all but I think down deep this one might just be my favorite of this series so far.

The Catch by Phoebe Alexander is the second book in her Eastern Shore Swingers Series and it just keeps getting better and better. Following the story of the secret club for those who like a taste of darkness with their nightlife, and this is where we find our main characters Paisley Parker and Calvin Mitchell. Paisley is new to Ocean City and loves working for the club, but didn’t realize just how much the club awakes something inside of her. There is a confidence booster that comes when she walks into the club, and the stares that she gets from the male patrons just makes her feel even sexier. When Paisley meets a man that is going to want everything from her, her heart and her history, will she be able to resist the temptation to lean on someone other than herself? Calvin is an all-around good guy, business owner, smart and hot as all get out. When he starts to pursue Paisley he isn’t shy about his intensions or about his ability to win over her body to get to her heart. The more that Paisley attempts to push him away the more that he stays with her, determined to get the girl that took his breathe away. When Paisley’s past comes back to get to her, she finds that he turns to Calvin for help and he is willing to risk it all to keep her safe. Is there a future in the cards for these two wounded lovers? Will Calvin be able to prove to Paisley that he is in this for the long haul? Can she trust him enough to fall for him? Alexander really knows how to pack a punch with this book! Her characters and storyline will pull you in from the very beginning and you will find yourself unable to get over these two long after the book ends. While this book can be read as a standalone I totally recommend reading the book in series order, as characters from other books do make cameo appearances. Plus you can never have too many books! I can’t wait to see how this series continues to grow!

Paisley has moved from New York to be the Assistant Manager of "The Factory" in Ocean City but will her past stay there or will it follow her to this new start. Calvin is a 26 year old computer geek and is asked to create a website for "The Factory" but he is not prepared for the whirlwind that is Paisley Parker.
Paisley has had a not so great childhood, so she ran away to New York and ended up with a job as an Event Planner, she then interviewed for the job she now is in but her past has caught up with her but life has its own way of putting things in the way as she is looking for a person to set up the new website she runs into Calvin who is the total package and is handsome to boot.
Calvin falls for Paisley as soon as she walks into his office, the only thing is he has to try and convince her that he is the right person for her. After breaking through the will power he succeeds but something happens which has them afraid to go any further.
I loved the twist and turn of the story and the chemistry between the two main characters jumped off the page. I especially enjoyed the sassy nature of Paisley and felt that this character was so relate able that I fell in love with the character from the first couple of chapters. The story is well written and this is not the first book I have read by this author, Phoebe still keeps the stories fresh and real.
This book can be read as a stand alone but it would be good to read the other novels in this series to get to know there stories to. I can't wait to read more books in this series.

The Catch, Book 2 in the Eastern Shore Swingers Series by Phoebe Alexander

This author never ceases to amaze. This second book in the Eastern Shore Swingers series is just a sizzling as the first. This book can be read as a standalone, however, I do highly recommend you read Book One at some point, because it is fantastic in its own right.
Paisley is a strong independent woman who don’t need to man, or at least she doesn’t need a relationship. The physical aspect of the man, she can get jiggy with, the emotional side of it, she can deal without. She is a flawed character and I loved that Ms Alexander wrote a character that has curves for days. Paisley is not the typical flat tummy, long legged runner who you would normally see in the Ocean City landscape around Maryland and when she is hired as a manager at a hotel, her first priority is to hire someone to design the hotel’s website.
Enter Calvin…the not so geeky..but I am a tall drink of water..Calvin. He challenges everything she knows. He pushes her boundaries and her comfort levels. When the steam starts to rise between them, the sheets start to smoke. When a blast from Paisley’s past come barreling back and threatens her, Calvin risks his own well-being to protect her and she starts to believe that he just maybe the very thing that she has been waiting for.
This book is super hot. 18+ audience for super mature theme and some steamy between the sheets scenes. Smooth easy read with passages and paragraphs flow from one thought to the next. As a reader you do not feel rushed through the story and the story line progresses at a pace that is both relevant and applicable to the story.

The Catch is technically the second book in the Fisher of Men series from Phoebe Alexander. It could be read as a standalone without confusion, but I promise that you won’t want to miss the first one! The books are fabulous. In fact, I may be a bit partial in the consideration that Phoebe is a one-click for me. I don’t ever question, I just buy when it comes to her novels, but she has never ever let me down, and this was no exception to the rule.
As with most of Alexander’s works there is a strong tie to body positivity among her lead female character, Paisley. Something we all could use a little more of in our lives. I loved Paisley, and learned a thing or two from her myself. I too am a curvy and vivacious woman, and I too have my own demons. I appreciated how Paisley handled hers and could relate to her on a very personal level.
Paisley has been on the run from her past for a long time now. Her current situation finds her helping out at “The Factory”, a local swingers club in a small Maryland town. Yes, I said swingers club, so if some spicy romance scenes are not your thing heads up, but really it is done with the utmost class and absolute realistic approach. Something rarely found in fiction related to alternative lifestyles
It is at this club that she meets Calvin. Where Paisley finds a comfort and release in the lifestyle Calvin does not. It is not something he disapproves of, he just doesn’t want to live the lifestyle. This is all well and good and leads to a good friendship between the two instead. At least until the twist you don’t see coming is thrown in their path. What will happen when these two are thrust together to protect Paisley from her past?
As with most of Alexander’s works there is a strong tie to body positivity among her lead female character, Paisley. Something we all could use a little more of in our lives. I loved Paisley, and learned a thing or two from her myself. I too am a curvy and vivacious woman, and I too have my own demons. I appreciated how Paisley handled hers and could relate to her on a very personal level.
Paisley has been on the run from her past for a long time now. Her current situation finds her helping out at “The Factory”, a local swingers club in a small Maryland town. Yes, I said swingers club, so if some spicy romance scenes are not your thing heads up, but really it is done with the utmost class and absolute realistic approach. Something rarely found in fiction related to alternative lifestyles
It is at this club that she meets Calvin. Where Paisley finds a comfort and release in the lifestyle Calvin does not. It is not something he disapproves of, he just doesn’t want to live the lifestyle. This is all well and good and leads to a good friendship between the two instead. At least until the twist you don’t see coming is thrown in their path. What will happen when these two are thrust together to protect Paisley from her past?

When Calvin and Paisley meet it’s because she hires him to design a website for The Factory. Not only is Paisley being groomed to be the manager but, she’s 100% in the lifestyle. When Calvin makes it known that he is interested in a relationship, she says no because she is not a relationship kind of person.
When Paisley gets an email from the website demanding money and calling her by her old name, she knows her past has caught up to her. She’s afraid The Factory will be found out if she doesn’t adhere to the demands. Things get much worse as time goes on. Their website is hacked and Paisley has no choice but to have Calvin take the website down. Paisley never cared much about anyone but now when her new friends business is threatened, she needs to deter whoever is after her.

The Catch by Phoebe Alexander is book two of the Eastern Shore Swingers Series. This book can be read as a standalone. This book is really intended for readers 18+ due to subject content. I was pleasantly surprised to find out when I started reading that this book is pretty suspenseful. It definitely adds some layers to the book that really keeps you on the edge of your seat waiting to find out what happens.
As with book one, this book invites you to join the characters at a very specific type of club and the book really does a great job detailing the club and it’s activities so you feel like you’re right there. Paisley is very self-assured. She draws people in with that trait. She manages to draw Calvin in and it’s truly the last thing she wants. Relationships aren’t for her and she stands pretty firm on that. Will Paisley be able to rely on someone other than herself when he past comes back when she least expects it? Anyways, like the other books in this series, its full of fun, sassy witty humor, some kick in the feels drama and of course, hot sexy smut.

I have to tell you that, I really like Paisley as the lead MC. She's a mature woman that has some immature tendencies. Strong, smart and not seeing the great storm that she is, we get to witness her ups, downs, and of course, putting a, to her, a shameful past to rest. Calvin was the perfect match for her. Age is but a number, (over 18 that is), I get her worrying about the age difference, but sometimes, it isn't the age that's the problem, and Calvin was out to prove that to Paisley. I loved them, and they got all the good feels going, and then there was the... smut.. fan please!
Overall this book was a great read and, like the other is this series, the writing was smooth, transitions were clean and, the story flowed in a easy cohesive way. I highly recommend you get your hands on not only on this book, but this, fan-freaking-tastic series.

The Catch (Eastern Shore Swingers Book 2) by Phoebe Alexander is the second book in her Eastern Shore Series.Although this can be read as a standalone I do recommend reading the first book in this series as well. I was hooked from the beginning and had a hard time putting it down once I started reading. I've read several other books by this Author and this is on the top of my favorites list. This is the story of Paisley and Calvin. Paisley works at the club,it a secret club for those who live a certain lifestyle. She's new to the area and her job.Shes very smart yet independent and people seem to be drawn to her and her confidence and also the way she looks.She doesn't do relationships but she does do hook-ups,or friends with benefits..What will happen when she meets a man who wants a relationship with her? Calvin is a smart and kind man and owns his own business. He's very clear about his feelings for Paisley, he's drawn to her. He wants the whole package,her body,heart,and her soul as well. What happens when her past comes back to haunt her? Will she turn to Calvin for help and comfort? Can he convince her to have a relationship with him? This book has some pretty hot and steamy scenes .Some parts had me sitting on the edge trying to figure out what happens next. I highly recommend this book. I look forward to reading more from this Author.

One thing I’ve come to really appreciate in this series is Phoebe Alexander’s use of applicable quotes at the beginning of each of her chapters. I’ve always been a fan of a good quote and the effort put into this aspect of the series hasn’t been lost on me.
I mentioned in a previous review that I had read the third book of this series first, they read really well as stand alone stories. Once again it was cool to see the familiar faces I knew in book 3 and more of their background, Casey, Leah, Cap.
Paisley’s character is my favorite thus far, her story has a little bit of everything sex, danger, her character is fun and charismatic despite her colorful, mysterious past.
I was roped in from beginning to end and I felt that Calvin and Paisley really worked well together. Honestly, such a well rounded story with a sexy, strong, confident leading lady, I would certainly recommend!

This book was a little less "fun" than the first in the series. Don't get me wrong, it still had plenty of moments, but in addition there was this aura of suspense mingled in, giving this story a little more depth.
I really loved the main character, Paisley. She was fun and real. It is nice to see a character that isn't some perfect specimen. She has some flaws, and she does work to try and fix them. But what she doesn't change is who she is, a bigger but still beautiful woman with a great personality who deserves love. She defies the stereotype that only model-thin women are beautiful and sexy, and it's refreshing!
I also really enjoyed the fact that although this book is primarily about new main characters, Paisley and Calvin, we still see Leah and Cap and other characters from the first story.

The Catch (Eastern Shore Swingers Book 2) by Phoebe Alexander. While this is book two you can read it as a standalone without any questions or confusion. I knew by who wrote this book and the description that I’d like this book, but in all honesty that’s not where it stops. I absolutely loved this book and the amazing characters in it. From page one the main character Paisley drags you into her world. This story is definitely steamy but it’s also a bit suspenseful and I love that in a book. The author does a wonderful job of keeping all aspects of the story equal and well written. The characters are complex and flawed making them both believable and relatable to readers. The author is amazing at writing a story that can come alive before your eyes and make you forget you’re just reading a book. I’m giving this book a five star review and can’t wait to read more!

Paisley Parker is a modern woman who has become successful in BBW Burlesque dancer but is now a Manager of a Premier Lifestyle Club called The Factory. She is taking over the club from Cap & Leah Sheldon whose story is told in the first book. Taking over the club she has to hire a Web Development team and that's where she meets Calvin Mitchell, a tall, dark, handsome geek??? What??? Sparks fly but Paisley is not into relationships but Calvin is determined. As they get closer and Paisley's past comes back to haunt her will she let Calvin take care of her and start to develop feelings for him. This is a sexy, fun book. I've really enjoyed this series!

The Catch (Eastern Shore Swingers Book 2) by Phoebe Alexander is a story that is as enticing as it is sexy. I have not read on thing from Phoebe that I have not liked and this one makes you fall in love with our protagonist and relate to her on a personal level. Right from the start you are drawn in and Phoebe has done a great job in keeping the chills and drama, suspense and thrills flowing and emotions high. We find ourselves reading about a woman who is happy in her own skin and wears it well but deep down there is more going on but will she be able to face the truth and move on? There are hot and steamy scenes that will curl your toes and romance and laughter. It was also nice to check in on old friends, Leah, Cap and Casey from the first book. All of this makes for a good follow on and enjoyable read.

Yet another journey into the lives of the swingers! I have to say that I wasn't disappointed. I quite admire the way that the author deals with her subject matter. The characters are very relateable. I find her writing style to be very refreshing.
The chemistry between Paisley and Calvin is very unique. I could feel the turmoil Paisley felt as she battled her doubts if she was good enough for him or not. I quite like how I could relate to some of the emotions and feelings that she had even though my experiences have been different. The author has really brought an alternative lifestyle to life in her books and in a manner that even though it isn't your lifestyle choice you can still enjoy reading about the characters that portray it. I will definitely read more by this author in the future.

The Catch by Phoebe Alexander is the second book in the Eastern Shore Swingers series. I went on a huge binge reading this series and it's amazing.
The story between Paisley and Calvin started off slow with lots of flirting between the two of them. But when they finally got together I wanted to cheer. They were just so good together and I wanted to see the happy.
Paisley was old enough to know that you have to communicate with people but she just wouldn't do it. I wanted to shake her to try and get her to wake up. Her back story is shocking and sad but she managed to make something of herself in spite of it all.
Calvin is a good guy who was brought up by amazing parents. He was very open and honest with Paisley about who he was but he couldn't get her to open up.
This was another hot and steamy read by Ms. Alexander. I cannot recommend this book and series enough.

I just finished this and I'm a mess of emotions right now! I love the story of Paisley and Calvin and the continuation of Leah and Cap's story. This book focuses more on Paisley who is a feisty, curvier lady. There was so much about Paisley I could identify with regarding her size. The preacher at the end perfectly summed her up. There was a good bit of tension with the plot twists and man does it make you really want to throat punch a couple people! I found myself chanting, "get 'em Paisley!" on one or two occasions. And you see what Paisley sees and feel what Paisley feels and it's pretty stinkin' cool to go on that ride with her. Phoebe has a gift for descriptions, what I call "word painting" because you can see the scenery in a lot of the scenes like a painting.

This is the 2nd book in this series however could be read as a standalone.... but really why would you just read 1. Once you discover Ocean City, The Factory and the diverse beautiful people you will not want to leave.

Calvin is hired to build The Factory website which is how Paisley and Calvin meet. Calvin comes from a traditional family and is taken by Paisley right away.
Pheobe does a beautiful job weaving love and suspense into a story you can not put down. I always think the story is heading one way and then bam she surprises me. I can not put down this series.

The Catch is the second book in the Eastern Shore Swingers series. It can be read as a standalone. It does reference characters from the first book, so if you want to know more about them I recommend going back and reading the first book as well.
The Catch has a different feel than the first book (which is also good). This story is filled with suspense and a bit of mystery. It also has a different feel in the way the relationship plays out. I enjoyed the development of Paisley’s character and the contrast between the way she shaped herself as an adult and what she dealt with as a child. I also loved that this book is body positive!

The Catch started off as a stimulating, romantic book two in the Eastern Shore Swingers series but eventually morphed a bit into a suspenseful mystery. There is someone targeting one of the members, Paisley, and making threats, and it escalates! Paisley may be sensually adventurous, but she’s pretty alone. She definitely thinks her bosses and Calvin can’t really want to be close to her for who she really is. What I like about Calvin is that he’s open-minded but won’t compromise on what he feels he deserves in a relationship. We also get to see how Leah, Cap, and Casey are doing. I enjoyed this, this series is really unlike others I’ve read.

Super hot read!!!!
Wow, talk about a steamy read. I truly loved Calvin and Paisley's story from their love at first site, to their happily ever after. They came from such different backgrounds and lived their lives so differently, but their hearts nevertheless couldn't separate them for long. All my emotions were on overload, their story amazed me. Wow, talk about a steamy read. I truly loved Calvin and Paisley's story from their love at first site, to their happily ever after.
