I'm D. Camille and I am an avid reader and author. I started reading romance books when I was thirteen and since then I've read hundreds. I wanted to write a series that contained the culture and history of the African and African American people.

I like to utilize historical information, science and ancient beliefs. I write for people to enjoy, think, analyze and learn; not only about the characters but hopefully also about themselves. I love to hear from my readers. Write me and tell me about your favorite characters and what you love about them. Me, I love all of them...they came from my heart.

Ase! (so let it be)

Great

I love to here stories of where an existing generation came to be and how the future generation reinvents the love, the hardship and lessons to make a beautiful history. I love this story because it also shows that it doesn't matter sometimes how and where you come from but you are the maker of your destiny. Great Read🙏

Ms. D. Camille writes tales that cause you to savor every morsel that she spoon feeds you. I absolutely love this young lady's pen!! She is a superbly amazing writer and I know each time I crack open her book that I'm going to walk away wiser and better for having read what she took the time to painstakingly write. Getting the opportunity to walk through the annals of time with Millie and Henry Patterson was almost like looking in the glass of time at the courtship that I can imagine my grandparents taking. Henry's patience, dedication, and overall single-minded focus on ensuring that Mille aka Honey was happy in this life brought tears to my eyes several times. Millie was everything that every woman who truly loves their man would want to aspire to be. She was smart, feisty, devoted to her family, but above all she loved her some Henry. To witness history unfold through their eyes was such a wonderful feeling. I felt as if I was living through all of the various decades that were described in the story. I cried when they talked of Brother Malcolm and his ideology. I became embroiled with anger when Henry described the atrocities he left behind in Meridian, Mississippi; and I just about went into convulsions when they embarked on the long journey to Atlanta to pay homage to one of our greatest civil rights leaders, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Everything was so real, live, vivid, and in technicolor. I am a historical fiction FREAK but Ms. D. Camille is able to weave together tales that just have me sitting long after the story is over reminiscing and commiserating with the characters as if they are truly a part of my life. I literally cried when I got to the end yes because the story was over but the pang that I felt in my heart knowing that I no longer had a grandmother or grandfather like Millie and Henry to hug and declare my overtures of love to was so heavy a mantle for me to carry that it took me a while to gather myself together and remember that these are characters not people intertwined with my everyday life. This is nothing but a testament to the prowess that is Ms. D. Camille, my siSTAR!! Young lady I've told you this numerous times and I must tell you again, I will follow you until I'm old and grey and will shout to the rooftops to any and everyone that is willing to listen that I ADORE you and the priceless gems that you bestow upon the literary community. Please don't ever stop!! I assure you that this little old country girl will follow you to the ends of the earth and hopefully well beyond!!! Thank you for sharing your gift to the world. I can't wait to see what is next on the horizon for you!!! FOREVER A GRATEFUL AND INDEBTED AVID FAN OF YOUR WORK!!!

A love for all time

Beautifully written, and all encompassing! I truly loved the back story of Tauri. Henry was a "Man's Man" and he set the template for what Tauri would eventually need. Henry and Millie's story was sweet and romantic. Following them through the decades gives a glimpse of love in its simplest and rarest form. One-click and enjoy!

A great read

A good read with plenty of emotions. The history was an added twist. The softball was a nice touch. The power of these men can be felt leaping off the pages. The love was soooo refreshing.

Honey Gaines is a fabulous player of softball. Henry Patterson is from Mississippi but loves baseball. Henry is dragged to a game by a coworker from his job at Ford. Little he know his life would forever change at this game. Honey knew she had a stalker who had been at every game but who was the handsome man sitting right beside him?
This is a wonderful story of the grandparents of Tauri Patterson Shaw from the Negus saga. Her Grandparents have a wonderful story of love and togetherness that I would love in my own life. They had struggles but they were determined in all aspects to remain together. Their story is one of strength and intense love and respect. They weather the storm of segregation and of intricate jealousy plans. Determination to succeed is a great prescription for their success. They are passing on these traits to Tauri. However, heartbreak does find this couple and they are determined that it or who will never touch Tauri.

Loved this story..

Wonderful, just wonderful

I love reading D. Camille's work, they ate always heartwarming, thought provoking and full of love. When I was first introduced to Millie and Henry in The Lion (Orion's and Tauri's story) I knew these two were something special and I am delighted to find out my hunch was right and to read just how special they were. I highly recommend ANYTHING written by D. Camille and am looking forward to what is up next for her.

The best of black love

Loved, loved, loved reading Henry and Millie's story. There is nothing more beautiful than black love. True love, commitment and trust. I loved that way Henry courted Millie. I even loved how Henry fought for her hand in marriage. True chivalry. Southern China a email at its best.
