1. Laid Bear (#1) by Marina Maddix *1 Star
Bethany is constantly told by all of her friends that she's gorgeous but she "knows" they're just being nice. They have to be lying because all the drunken jerks that she picks up at bars are, well, jerks. Now, her new neighbor Max seems to be flirting with her but nah he is way out of her league. And he's also a bear who's uncle hates her and who may or may not be able to have kids with her. So instead of talking to Max about her concerns about their relationship she listens to a third party that wants to break them up. Bethany was a stuck up teenager trapped in an insecure adult. She felt that everything she thought was right and no one else could possibly have a clue about anything and her incessant whining that nothing ever goes right just got on my nerves.

2. Badgering the Bear (Mate in a Minute #1) by Flora Dare ***3 Stars
Jolie loses a bet and has to go to a speed dating event to check out potential mates. Seems like this is a waste until she meets Gabe. They see each other again and things are going swell until Jolie finds out that Gabe has been dishonest about some things. They both want each other but have to get over their own past hurts to make things work. This was very cute, I thought Gabe and Jolie were great characters who had reasonable and believable reactions to things despite that they aren't fully human.

3. My Curse to Bear (Everson Brothers #1) *1 Star
Merrie is a witch, but she's not very good at it so she moves away from her disappointed family and opens a magic shop. Craig is a bear shifter who was cursed by a witch because he hurt her feelings. This book started out ok and then just spun out of control. The whole reincarnation bit just didn't work for me and I didn't have any nice feelings for Merrie by the end. Also, all of the siblings really need to get a life or least stop being a bunch of condescending know it alls.

4. Bear Prince (Royal Bears #1) by Emma Alisyn *1 Star
Hannah is a struggling dancer on scholarship, Andrei is a prince ho recognizes Hannah as his mate. They form a connection withouth Hanna even knowing his real name let alone that he is a prince. They mate, she eventually finds out that she is now a princess and then has to deal with all of that. This was close to being a 4...then I read the second to last chapter. I though Hannah was a good character, was hard working, and didn't take anyone's crap but I thought it was idiotic that she didn't want to know who Andrei was. Andrei was an ok character but how can you let someone you care about be that idiotic and not prepare them for how much their life is going to change. And finally when Hannah throws a hissy fit and runs home to her parents I was just over it. I felt this was the true Hannah and not the one who was pretending to be a strong willed independent woman.

5. Releasing Her Dragon (Dragon Blood #1) by Elianne Adams **2 Stars
Stella has found her mate and just in time, she is close to shifting to her dragon form never to be human again (No real explanation for that). Brycen is her mate and senses her looking for him but he's working as some sort of bodyguard to some woman and has to wait till the job is over (there are other men that work with him, no stated legitimate reason that he can't be with Stella). And there's hunters and lost families and all sorts of things that are there and never explained. This probably would have been more enjoyable without all of the extras because all they did was confuse you with minimum information.

6. Coercion by Chloe Cole ****4 Stars (PR)
After Willa is dumped by her long time friend and alpha her parents decide to give her to Drake, a dragon shifter, to form an alliance. Willa is unaware this agreement has been made and doesn't take too kindly to the meddling. Eventually she softens to Drake and even wants to stay but a lack of communication between the newlyweds leads to some painful misunderstandings. This was a sale book from Barnes and Noble and was exactly what I was looking for. It was light, sexy and you definitely felt for Drake and Willa. I may even go on to read Etienne's story next.

7. Andre (Rocked by the Bear #1) by V. Vaughn *1 Star
Nessa wants to get married, have babies and lead a life similar to her mother's country club style. When her sister informs her that they have werebear blood and now that she found her mate she can shift... And when Nessa and the other triplet find their true mates they will shift too. Nessa is horrified and fights her attraction for band mate Andre. This just wasn't for me. Nessa was crushing on TA Eric, who seemed fine and then all of a sudden he's a drunken mess? She doesn't want to commit to Andre for forever and in the next breath she tells him she loves him. But overall I think that two people singing to each other is just super awkward and not something that I find romantic at all.

8. For Shift's Sake by Mina Carter ***3 Stars
On his way to a life of retirement in Las Vegas bear shifter Reese stops to check on the sister of one of his army buddies. He quickly discovers that Bobbi is his mate and there are a few shady characters in town who have been giving her a hard time. This was pretty cute. Big bad bear trying not to freak out his human mate whilst going all alpha on everyone who has been messing with her. It does get a little tiresome though when the females in these stories assume that any bit of information that has been omitted is because the male in question couldn't actually want someone like them.

9. Lonely Bear (Bear Bluff Clan #6) *1 Star
Chloe discovers her finace cheating on her and takes a hike (literally) to clear her head a bit. She falls and cannot make her way home before it gets dark. Nate, a bear shifter, who retrested to the woods after seeing Chloe at her engagement party. She is his destined mate and he didn't want to break up her relationship so he left. He rescues her from hypothermia and when he hears of her broken engagement has to figure out a way to get her to be with him now. This was not my cup of tea. Chloe's dad was a jerk to her for a really long time...you lose the excuse of it being a coping mechanism after a few months, then you're just a bad person. And what's up with him sending 3 creepy hunter guys to rescue her? Oh and one second she sleeps with Nate and then accusing him of just being after her money.

10. He Ain't Lion (Ridgeville #1) by Celia Kyle ***3 Stars (PR)
Maya is in a rut and decides to take part in the shifters night of debauchery. Of course, she doesn't have all the details about this night and she ends up mated to the alpha with a lioness of her own. I really liked the first half...it was cute, sexy and funny. The second half...not as much. Maya's reaction got a little obnoxious and so did her need to say "what-evah"...that was not endearing.

TITLE - 4.5 stars. Great value for money with some very good stories in it.
MARINA MADDIX - LAID BEAR
Bethany was just way too negative about her body image, I was getting fed up with it. Her friend Paul at least gave her a good slap upside the head.
Bethany and Max are new neighbours and start a friendship/relationship. Max tells Bethany he is a werebear and she takes it fairly well as she had already seen Max shift.
But then Max's Uncle Chet, who is also their ratbag landlord, shows up and tells Bethany a load of crap about how they cannot be together or have children and she believes a guy who has been a total ratfink to her and instead of talking to Max she decides to leave.
As Bethany takes a last walk in the woods she is attacked by a female werebear who wants Max as her mate.
Whilst this was not bad it was not great either. Bethany's body image loathing and her believing Chet instead of talking to Max was just too silly for me.
I did laugh at the ending. Very good.
FLORA DARE - BADGERING THE BEAR
A good short read, but this means it is light on build-up and not enough background on either character.
I like to get to know who I am reading about. If Jolie is his fated mate why was he married previously?
I know he said he was led by his man bits but that does not mean marriage to shifters.
Loved Jolie and her BFF Zane. Also liked Des, Gabe’s sister, great bunch of women.
Gabe was also a likeable hero.
Hope both Des and Zane are going to get their own stories as was hinted at.
OLIVIA ARRAN - MY CURSE TO BEAR (Everson Brothers 1)
I have read most of this authors books and especially wanted this one as I have not read this series yet.
Well I was not disappointed. A very enjoyable read that kept me wondering what can happen next with these two. Love the storyline, very twisty and interesting.
Cannot wait to see what happens with the other brothers.
EMMA ALISYN - BEAR PRINCE
Have skimmed this book before and did not get into it. I did not relate to them at all and had to force myself to finish it. I wasn't sure what time frame we were in, modern or old. The Queen was just mean and unlikeable.
I have read the other books in this series and still do not like this series. Other people will love it.
ELIANNE ADAMS - RELEASING HER DRAGON
A good dragon story but could have been better.
I can’t believe I am saying this but just too much sex and not enough talking and explaining. I understand the sex part for the mating but Brycen just seemed to go about everything wrong.
Whilst I enjoyed this book very much and loved what story there was it was just missing too much information.
How long was Brycen running and hiding from Stella, why could he not just talk to her and explain he was working? Why let Alexandra taunt and hurt Stella like she did?
Why were they protecting Alexandra and was she a set up for the hunters to kill the dragons?
Why did he leave their mating half done and put Stella at risk, she had told him her time was running out?
Stella had not learnt much about her dragon heritage so how did she know to sing the release song?
A few holes that could have been patched up so easily.
To be truthful I think Stella deserved someone much better than Brycen and I hope in future books he is still grovelling. (YES HE IS) Have read more in this series and enjoyed them.
CHLOE COLE - COERCION - (AKA CHRISTINE BELL)
I have not read anything by this author before.
Whilst I felt really sorry for Willa for what her parents had done and for finding herself married to a stranger, her childish behaviour nearly all the way through was annoying. She took her anger out on Drake instead of her parents who were the real culprits. Drake had been duped as much as she had but he was willing to be reasonable, he was just not willing to let Willa go.
All her plotting to run away was stupid, what was she going to do, run back to her shite parents so they could sell her for the third time. I thought it was funny when she thought about going to Manhattan to live, no money, no job, no training for anything. She had been raised to be the Alphas mate and nothing else.
Willa starts to fall for Drake and then her ex fiancé comes to save her. Drake thinks she was running away again and has had enough of her behaviour and turns mean.
I didn’t like the way they treated each other and although it all turned out well I did not have a feel good factor after reading this.
Drake was a good man until he felt betrayed by Willa and then acted horrible but he still looked out for her by dealing with her rotten parents and by letting her go.
I think the problem with this story was it was written in 3 parts so the story was dragged out with tense situations. As one book it needs to be tidied up, re-edited and it would be a great book without Willa’s immaturity taking up so much of the story.
V VAUGHN – ANDRE
I find this authors books are either good or very overdone. I know this ties in with one of her series.
I sort of enjoyed this but it just had a bit too much will she won’t she for my taste. I hate stories with dithering females.
MINA CARTER – FOR SHIFTS SAKE
Asked to do a favour for a friend from his forces days, Reece stops off to give some protection to his friend’s sister who is being harassed.
Bobbi's adopted family are werebears but she never found out. Her adopted parents were killed in an accident leaving her with a very protective big brother. Bobbie's town is being taken over by thugs of which the head guy wants Bobbi for his own.
Reece turns up just in time to kick some butt with his special forces training and save his mate.
Loved Bobbi, she was feisty and smart, two things I love in a heroine.
HARMONY RAINES - LONELY BEAR (Bear Bluff Clan 6)
A good read and one of the better books in the Bear Bluff Clan series. More of a storyline that was interesting to read.
Really enjoyed how this played out but not too sure why the hunters were brought in to the story.
Two good people that found each other in time. Felt sorry for Nate knowing he was losing his mate for over a year, no wonder he lived up on the mountain.
Olivia had her head screwed on but should have stood up to her father earlier. Luckily she did not marry the jerk.
CELIA KYLE - HE AIN’T LION (Ridgeville 1)
We meet Maya, a woman who knows her mind and takes crap from nobody. She is turned into a Lion without her knowing it. I laughed out loud in some places, especially when she first sees Alex after turning into a lioness.
If you want a fun read with sassy, smart ladies and uber hot alpha men and vice versa, plus lots of hot sex and silliness with a good background story, this book is for you.
This is book 1 in the Ridgeville series. I have them all and reread them often.

The back stories are fascinating and the characters come alive with the fabulous dialogue, breathtaking scene descriptions, and a most intriguing plot. The chemistry between Nessa and Andre is magical, and their romance sizzles to a slow passionate burn. I relished this story, a most exciting read. If you treasure shifter romance this is a terrific book for your library. {I was gifted this book and this is my completely honest review}. Bear Prince - Emma Alisyn:
This was truly a great read. This is actually the first book I have read of Emma Alisyn and Danae Ashe.

Hannah was a beautiful curvy woman. She was from a simple, strict, religious life. Her family were famers and had very strict views. The thing Hannah loved more was dance. She put her heart and soul into her dance. She was happy her parents allowed her to go to school to study dance and Hannah was not about to allow anything get in her way.

Prince Andrei Sahakian was a handsome bear shifter. His mother was pressuring him to find a mate. It was his duty to mate with another bear shifter and produce a heir. Andrei could not take his eyes of this america girl. He could see she was truly talented.

Things get hot and heavy between Hannah and Andrei. Andrei had told her his name was Andrew and kept the fact that he was a prince from her. His bear was determined that they had found their mate. Andrei wanted so badly to court her and win her heart.

Andrei and Hannah are faced with a battle. The council of Andrei country do not want to accept Hannah as a mate. Will they be forced apart? Will Andrei be forced to produce and heir with another woman that is a bear shifter?


Andre - V. Vaughn:
I am glad to see a separate series brought out that has something to do with Tori’s sisters.

Vanessa finds out that her sister Tori is now a werebear and that she herself is half werebear. This is something that Vanessa is not sure she wants. It is sort of freaking her out.
Andre who is a polar bear shifter knows the moment he meets Vanessa that she is his true mate. He is one that does not really talk much and I am not certain he truly knows how to put in words of what he if feeling.

I just loved Ginny the other sister of Tori and Vanessa. Ginny is so open minded and so accepting of what is going on around her. Fate pretty much used her to make sure that Vanessa and Andre got more time together.

Seems that Andre has his work cut out for him. Will he win Vanessa’s heart?

I love boxed sets. Here are brand new authors to temp and old friends who we know will always provide a good read. Such is the latter in this set. V. Vaughn's Andre, just one of the greats shorts in this set.

Sasha is one of the Hunters that have been after the werebears from the clans for some time. She failed to take out the couple on her hit list and lost her partner in the battle. Now she has been kidnapped by one of her targets. He actually is rescuing her—for a very good reason. Jax knows that Sasha is his true mate.

How does she feel being told she is part of what she has been taught to hate? You've heard of playing hard to get? How about hard to comprehend. When you've been taught one thing all your life, but when you meet it in real time things just aren't what you've been told. How can you feel for this—monster?

Jax and Sasha have a lot to contend with and overcome if they are to complete their mate bond. First of all is convincing her who and what she is. Can she change her way of thinking? Will the hunters find her and if so—how much danger is she in? If she doesn't change her way of thinking, what will the clans do to her? Is there any way out for her?

While this is a short read, there is so much happening, action, emotions, steam, and insight into our next excursion into the World According to V Vaughn. Thank you for letting me sharing your wonderful imagination.

I'm sure everyone remembers Keith and Tori from the last book. Tori is one of triplets,
with her sister's going Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Tori went to asked the girls if they are still having sex dreams and a bear, since they've all three have been dreaming for two years now. Trying to explain to her sisters about her dreams and bears, of course neither Harrison girl's Ginny or Nessa short for Vanessa, believed her. So Tori showed them. Denial was easy instead of truth.
Andre Lindquist and his four brothers,  were polar bears. They were sent by the LeRoux Clan to do surveillance at the college cause of a rogue clan of Werebears causing  trouble. Andre had two jobs, singing in Ginny's band and security guard for the college. As a guard Andre walked Nessa to her dorm, it was then that he knew.... Mate.

Badger shifter Jolie is happier playing in the dirt than dressing up in nice dresses, but after loosing a bet with her best friend she has to go to a shifter speed dating night. The night seems like a dud until she meets dangerously sexy bear shifter Gabe. But one small lie may ruin their chances of happiness, can Jolie forgive Gabe and give him another chance, or will she refuse?

Andre: Rocked by the Bear, V Vaughn
This story is about finding true love when and where you least expect it. Nessa gets the shock of her life when she finds out that her father was a werebear and that her and her triplets could be too. She freaks and swears to steer clear of all things werebear. When she meets singer Andre she feels an unearthly connection but he is a werebear so she decides not to pursue a relationship. Can Andre convince her they are true mates and not a freak, or will an outside source divide them?

He Ain't Lion, Celia Kyle:
Maya is in for a big surprise when she decides to get wild with Alex after a bad breakup. This hot as hell man is not ordinary hunk, but a lion shifter and she is in for the ride of her life.

This set has some really good stories. One of my favorites features a rock band that is comprised of bear shifters.

Rocked by the Bear - V Vaughn

I love her bear shifters and it is interesting to meet two of the triplets we heard about in the earlier series when Tori was identified as a shifter. You don't have to have read the other books to jump in as it is a standalone story.

Nessa is surprised by her attraction and connection to Andre from their first meeting. He may not speak much but he makes a big impression. She always thought she wanted a more normal kind of life like her mom but her sister's news means there is something different about her too. Andre is a polar bear shifter and her life with him would never be ordinary.He knows she is his mate and has to give her time to accept the major change to her life and plans.

I enjoyed the story and it is a pretty quick read. I do also recommend the other stories in the series. The author is very good at crafting new characters in a short story and you end the story with a real understanding of the characters and their motivations.

Violet Vaughn does not disappoint with any of her books and this new first issue of the series Mating Fever ( Rocked by the Bear), Andre is an awesome character with a lot of heat and emotion. The plot delivers a sweet and charming romance between Andre a sexy bass guitar player that is also a powerful werebear and Nessa, a sassy, smart pretty college student that is part of a set of triplets with Ginny, and Tori. Tori keeps a big secret from their father, Nessa and Ginny are college roommates and they got to sing together in Ginny's band, were Nessa mets Andre. That's when it turns out that Andre and Nessa are true mates. Can Andre win Nessa? No more, buy the book it's worth it!! If you are fan of Bear shifters stories this book is for you.

Very good boxed set by some really good Authors Badgering the Bear - Flora Dare - Laid Bear - Marina Maddix - Releasing Her Dragon - Elianne Adams Coercion - Chloe Cole (AKA Christine Bell) and of course Andre - V. Story is mainly about Nessa Harrison and her two sisters Ginny who is going to the same college and rooming with her and the third triplet Tori who goes to a different college. What Tori comes to tell Nessa and Ginny will change their lives. Ginny’s lead singer leaves so she asks Nessa to fill in, that is where Nessa meets bass player Andre Linquist, they sing together , and there is a connection When Nessa finds he is a bear shifter she is not to sure about it especially after what Tori showed and told them. Will they get a happy ending?

Ms. Vaughn never ceases to amaze me with the stories she weaves. Andre: Mating Fever is a great start to what looks like will be an equally amazing series. We met Andre briefly at the end of the Tempted by the Bear books. Nessa is a triplet sibling to Tori, who we also know from pervious series and Ginny. Andre and Nessa have an instant attraction to one another until she finds out he isn't human. Nessa doesn't want to embrace her bear nature like her sister Tori did, so she tells Andre that they could never be. But the true mate bond is strong and the pull to be together can't be denied. Great characters and storyline.

Badgering the Bear - this was a sweet short story about speed dating. It was cute and had good chemistry. Would have liked an epilogue. 4 stars.

My Curse To Bear - I really liked the concept of this story. The twist took the relationship to a whole new level. Good characters. 4 stars.

Bear Prince - this was a different kind of shifter story. Most are insta-love but in this the relationship developed gradually without sex yet the connection was still clear. It was a good story but the ending was so abrupt it spoiled it a bit for me. 3.5 stars.

"My Curse to Bear" - Olivia Arran
This was a cute little read. I really enjoyed the characters in this story and they storyline itself. This book is about a bear shifter trying to find his true mate.

"Badgering the Bear" - Flora Dare
This is a cute short read, About a lonely shy badger and an equally lonely sexy hot bear. This was a fun little read. Great for an afternoon at the beach or by your pool. I can't wait to read the next book in this series.

Anyone who loves a good shifter book i recommend this set. They are all great reads with strong characters and good plots behind them. There wasnt one book i didnt like but Willa and Drake were my favourite
