Landon Hamilton is no stranger to adversity. As the Diuscrucis, Purgatory's champion in the war between Heaven and Hell, he's had to deal with his unfair share:
The vampire who betrayed him, the Beast who imprisoned him, the angel who tried to kill him, and the powerful demon who almost did.
As the war between good and evil continues to escalate, it is up to Landon and his remaining allies to put an end to the threat. But when your greatest adversary is also one of the people you love the most, can there be a happy ending?

I loved this whole series. This book was a huge disappointment. There was a lot of action, but just some things came out of deep left field and made no sense like Alyx's attitude and Josette and Landons relationship. They had a brother sister kinda relationship though the series and it changed in the matter of the last chapter. I just couldnt get on board with this book. It ruined the entire series for me.
A brilliant end to the series that I wish never had to come. Anyone who is thinking of reading this book has likely read all the rest, but safely know that this book is as brilliant as all the others in the series. A fitting end for all involved.
This final book in The Divine series goes out in a blaze of glory! No spoilers but suffice it to say this series has a happy ending! Pretty much all the the loose ends are resolved - sometimes not happily, and great sacrifices are made. But it feels like a good ending. Thanks for the fun hours spent reading the series!
Wonderful series, very satisfying ending. Need an open mind. As a child, I was taught God welcomes questioning. I am no longer affiliated with a church or any specific sect as the belief seems to be conformity with no room for questions. This series touched me with a big case of what it's and why nots. Thank you M. R.Forbes.
A powerful, beautiful and bittersweet ending to a Heavenly story
This was a roller-coaster of a story that has held me over the seven novels. Wonderfully written, describing the fight between Good and Evil and the Balance maintained at a cost...
What an exceptional ending to this series!! If you are seeing this review I fully recommend starting from the beginning and never stopping till the end. There was one twist after another yet you never felt lost because of them.
I cried as everything came together.... Nothing was resolved and yet, as always seems to happen in life, all was resolved.for the moment. Life keeps spinning until the " next " time... and the nxt after that.... Brilliant series....
I have never read a series before. This was my first and did not disappoint. Excellent! I actually plan to read #7 again in order to take-in more details.
It is a well written contemporary fantasy series. I gave it 5 stars although it had some conceptual problems, like the premise that God and heaven are Christians, in our day and age we know that we are all his creatures, regardless of our religion, color , race or even sexual orientation. Other than that it's a solid story that kept our interest throughout and ended with a satisfying closure .
End of series finds Landon trying to stop the destruction of Heaven and. Hell thus destroying human existence. Deciding to save both to avoid the end has made him hunt for each characters weakness and turn if into himself. Many changes of moral decisions from everyone around him finds him ever doubtful of himself and his actions. Very good pace in series makes the reader determined to finish the story without switching to another type.
We start who book 1 and a mortal changes to immortal. Now he has balanced that world and we are back where we started. That ride was a well written and edited whirlwind you never wanted to get off. Thanks, Mr. Forbes for the ride!
