Waiting on Love is part of a Christmas collection I found on good ol' Kindle Unlimited. While it took place around the holidays, it really lacked the holiday glow and warmth that is a "must" in any book labeled as a Christmas read. For me, it was just an okay story--really nothing too special but not a bad read either. While I didn't particularly care for the details surrounding the "romance" here, there wasn't anything significantly unlikable about it, I just wasn't feeling it. *shrugs*
This is by far my favorite out of this set so far. This one seemed to end fast, but I don't know if it's because I just loved it that much or if it is because it was a little shorter. Books that grab my heart strings are always my favorite and this book did just that!! <3 I highly recommend this book to any reader, because this set of book is worth the read!
Will she still love him, as he loves her? Scott returns to the town where he had to leave during high school, hoping to reconnect to his past girlfriend, with the intent of possibly making it work. Tanya is reluctant, but feels she owes him the time to listen. It is a wonderfully written, easily read novel, with Christian emphasis. I really enjoyed reading it and am confident you will, too!
Forgiveness is such a tough lesson and no easy task when real damage has happened. Life can be so messy at times. Thanks for a great, heartfelt encounter that can touch hearts everywhere.
A great story of loss, forgiveness, and love. And love does cover a multitude of sins. Impressed with the obedience to God of the couple in this story. There is a lot to be learned from this story.
Love, love, love!! ❤ Wow, and I do mean wow! This novel was excellent and thorough without becoming explicit! I love romantic novels and this one had a wonderful storyline to keep me entertained! Fabulous!
This is a sweet Novella that connects to Atwoods marriage of convenience series. He definitely want to read at least book 2 in that series before you read this. It’ll make no sense. It’s a sweet read and well worth the time.
This is a sweet Christian romance, but more importantly it is a story of redemption and forgiveness. It seemed rushed but maybe it was because it's short.
Waiting on Love; A Contemporary Christian Romance is by Leah Atwood. It is a wonderful romance. It is easy to read and great for a fall afternoon. Scott Lamar has made a decision which will change his life and hopefully the lives of two others. He made a major mistake seven years ago when he left Maryville for college and never returned. Now he hoped to correct that mistake. He wasn’t the same person he was then. He had found Christ and was determined to live his life as it should be. He was going to confront his past. First he had to furnish his house with a few staples. Eventually, the rest would be done. Then he was going to visit Tanya. Tanya Reeves had taken on an extra job at the diner as a waitress. She needed the extra money for Christmas presents. She was proud of herself for having raised Lacy for six years on her own. Times had been lean; but now except for things like specific Christmas presents, she was making it on her candle business. She hadn’t spoiled Lacy by giving her everything she wanted; but this Christmas, she was going to get her that special gift. She stopped thinking and turned to follow Birdie Tippens into the dining area to start serving. She served table one and then suddenly remembered table five. When she went over to get the order, she was stunned to see Scott Lamar sitting there. The last person she wanted to see was Scott. Scott was Lacy’s father! What was she going to do?
I have enjoyed reading this modern conveniences book series. Waiting on love dos not disappoint. The book speaks about forgiveness. It's something that's hard to do at times, but the reward is so freeing. Tanya and Scott's story is a sweet romance about a marriage of convenience with a happy ever after ending v
This novella was sweet but just didn't ring true. The hero comes back years after deserting his pregnant girlfriend, and she forgives him after one conversation and one interaction with his daughter. I'm sorry, but I don't know anyone who is that forgiving. I, if course, know that we are called to forgive one another; however, I also know that actions have consequences. One conversation cannot make seven years insignificant. One, "but I'm a Christian now" doesn't erase past hurts. What it does is help you to turn from sin and work to mend fences. It will also help those you have sinned against to accept the sincerity of your repentance. However, I don't know a single Christian who would marry the man who refused his child for seven years after one week of his return.
Scott and Tanya's story is amazing. When he comes back to his home town his life and Tanya's changed. Lacy is a very special little girl, who Scott missed seeing grow up. Gran is one of the best characters in this book. Watching Scott and Tanya's lives change is beautiful. You will feel God working throughout this whole book. I had the honor to review this book for the author. It deserves a higher rating than a five star review.
For some reason I love “marriage of convenience” stories. I guess it is because I like seeing the couple learn to love each other. This story was no exception. Even though Tanya and Scott had a history together, they still had to work through that and get to know each other again and develop that love. This was a really sweet story and I would definitely recommend it.
