Avelyn Paige is the mischief-maker behind steamy dark romance, gritty mafia love stories, and high-octane motorcycle club tales that have blazed their way onto the Wall Street Journal and USA TODAY bestseller lists. She calls Indiana home, where she lives with her husband and five furry troublemakers who think they’re her editors.

When she’s not fighting the good fight in cancer research, Avelyn trades test tubes for plot twists and dives into worlds filled with danger, devotion, and deliciously bad decisions. She writes romance because it’s the one place where chaos and love can coexist, bullets can fly, hearts can heal, and everyone still gets the kind of ending worth fighting for.

After losing her dad in 2015, she turned heartbreak into creativity and never looked back. Now, she’s on a mission to prove that even the darkest hearts can find redemption, and that love—no matter how twisted—always leaves a mark worth remembering.

This is a different read for me, its not a romance! It is an emotional story and bought tears to me eyes a few times. The book moves quickly, its only 110 pages so a lot to fit in.

Abbi is doing great, enjoying college and playing basketball when her life is turned upside down, she has cancer. Its all a bit of blur from diagnosis, treatment and feeling sorry for herself, that is until she meets Cassie.

This book is a snippet of a life journey and lesson we should all learn.

I'm not one for reading authors notes at end of books but I did this one and found it very touching.

Cassie's Court is the first book in the ( Cassie's Love Series) by Avelyn Paige ,and I must say that I thoroughly enjoyed this touching story. Avelyn Paige has given us such a emotional story ,that will have you in tears or maybe even bawling like she did me. This author has given us an amazing story ,that will grab our attention right from the start until the very end, and then will leave us wanting more from the author. This story is about two unlikely friends that form such a wonderful bond during a trying time. Abby ,who plays college basketball when something in her life suddenly takes a turn that she never expected to happen. But while she was dealing with this problem she meets sweet little Cassie ,who's only 3 years old ,and all at once the sunshine comes back into Abby's life again. And these two become best friends ,and then Abby does a wonderful thing for Cassie .I could tell you more about this amazing touching story ,but I really don't want to ruin this book for you. So I highly recommend that you read this amazing story, and find out what Abby does for Cassie ,because you won't be disappointed.

Talk about such an emotional story. This book is in no means a romance book but it was such a beautiful and touching story. I was in tears, even the author's note got me bawling like a baby. I have to say that Avelyn did such an amazing job giving us a story about two unlikely friends that form such a bond during a trying time.

Abby is playing college basketball when life suddenly takes turn she never expected. While dealing with this she meets 3 year old Cassie who brings sunshine to her life again. They become best friends and she does such a beautiful thing for Cassie.

I really don't want to give anything else to you and ruin it for you but it is so worth the read. Kind of puts life in perspective when we think of all our problems we have. I highly recommend this read, although I usually only read romance I can honestly say that I am so glad that I read this story. I don't often cry when reading and the fact that Avelyn brought me to them just goes to show how great she really did writing her story even with it being a novella. Wonderful job Avelyn!!

Cassie’s Court is an emotional little novella about college basketball player Abi, and 3 year old Cassie who she meets while they are both going through chemo.

I don’t really want to go into any more plot than that or it will be a spoiler, but I thought it was written well, I was dragged into the story and it really pulled on my emotions. Get the tissues at the ready.

I’ve enjoyed every book Avelyn Paige has released so far, and this one is no different. I plan on following the series and am looking forward to seeing what comes next. I give Cassie’s Court 4.5 stars.

This is a very poignant story about an insidious disease-cancer. Avelyn Paige handles it with sensitivity and grace, I still cried though!
A young 21 year old girl, Abigail, is living her dream at college on a basketball scholarship. Things don't quite go according to her plans however she discovers there are more lessons to be learnt.
This is quite fast paced that pulls the reader into the story from the very beginning. The roller coaster of emotions you ride throughout the story are very strong.
The storyline is so realistic you can very easily visualise each scene with incredible clarity.
This is an impressive story that touched my heart, I am so glad I read it.

Read and reviewed for 2 Girls Who Love Books. This year I decided to read a few books outside my normal zone. That led me to Cassie's Court. Avelyn Paige tells such an amazing tale of emotion and bravery of these 2 young girls on their journey to health. The story is well rounded and the characters are well believed. I cried as we followed Abby and Cassie through this devastating disease. I highly recommend reading this short but in no way lacking book. 4 stars all the way!!

The next time I get asked for an ugly cry - yeah, I'm going to think about this story.

This was a beautiful story about two strangers connecting during a time that both really needed a friend. You can not read this and not picture Cassie and it will definitely stay with me for awhile.

I'm sure my spelling is going to be atrocious through this review as my vision is blurred through the countless tears I've shed for this book. Simply put, it broke my heart into a million pieced.
I'm pretty sure this story trumps that of Me Before You, I cried harder, longer and my heart is still trying to recover.

I wasn't expecting this, I really wasn't. Sweet little Cassie who brings life and laughter to everyone around her, also brought that to me. This story goes to show that you need to hug your kids longer and harder than they wish to be, and I'll be surely doing that.

I knew the precipice of this story from the cover and the blurb, but I didn't expect it to end as it did. But the ending shaped the story into a beautiful piece of fiction that actually happens around the world.

Great read, heartbreaking story that I recommend to everyone.
