Fall in love with this hot and hilarious romantic comedy, perfect for fans of Sophie Kinsella, Jasmine Guillory, and Christina Lauren!

What happens when you wake up in a hotel suite next to a gorgeous naked man with absolutely no memory of the past twelve hours?

I guess it's true what they say: what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas.

Or at least I hope it stays here. The Romantic Style Book convention was meant to be a weekend of raucous fun with friends, sun, and enough poolside margaritas to forget about my ex. But now, instead of meeting my fans and signing books, I'm stuck with cocky divorce lawyer Nate Wexler. He's arrogant, infuriating, and I can't keep my hands off of him. Judging by the state of our hotel room, last night was wild. I just wish I could remember it.

A pair of matching tattoos. A half empty box of glow-in-the-dark Trojans. And a... wedding veil?

What the hell just happened?

Discover the hot and hilarious world of the LUCKY IN LOVE series from Lila Monroe!

5 stars!

I am in love with Julia. She is my Spirit animal. Waking up with no memory of what happened the night before with a gloriously naked man is anyone’s idea of a wild and wonderful time. Come along with Julia and Nate while they try and seam back together the tattered pieces of their memories of the night before and find exactly what they were missing in each other. Get lucky is HILARIOUS. I loved every moment from the begining chapter to the epilogue and I have become a complete and utter fangirl for Lila Monroe’s work. The interesting job choices and the spicy supporting roles just make the plot more amazing in my book. I love love loved it. loved it.

Having never read a Lila Monroe book before I wasn’t sure what to expect when I started this one. The blurb with a fascinating setting like Vegas and of course the sexy as sin cover made me try this one out and honest to God I didn’t regret it for one moment. Why? Because 'Get Lucky' was one hell of an entertaining read! This little gem was hilarious, sexy and also sweet at times, so if you are looking for a light, delightful read, look no further. I guarantee you will get hooked from the very first chapter.

“There’s something about Julia that gets me horny and makes me relax all at once.
I think this is what bliss feels like.”

Julia is a newly divorced romance writer. She loves what she does for a living, she’s successful and she’s in Vegas for a book signing. She loves her fans, so of course she’s looking forward to a weekend in Sin City, especially since she will spend some quality time with her agent Meredith and with her best friend Shanna. Julia’s weekend becomes a little crazy when she literary runs into a male stranger.

“If Mr. Darcy was a modern man with a rolling suitcase, a stick shoved way up his ass, and no actual redeemable qualities, he might be this guy.”

Nate is a divorce attorney and he’s in Vegas for his best friend’s wedding. Right now he really isn’t in the mood for a wedding or for Vegas, but for two days he will have to suck it up. Six months ago his girlfriend left him for another man with whom she found everything she was looking for according to her, so of course Nate is angry and bitter. Needless to say he doesn’t believe in romance anymore.

Julia and Nate dislike each other from the moment they met. They figure out pretty quickly they are opposites in every way so they try to stay away from each other. Everything changes between them when they wake up naked together. The funny thing is neither of them remembers what happened the night before.

“Don’t let your dick lead you around, Wexler. So far this girl hasn’t brought you anything but migraines and a possible criminal record.”

As they spend the weekend together trying to figure out what the heck happened between them and they get to know each other better both of them realize the other is not so bad as they initially thought and before they know it the sexual tension between them becomes slowly but surely so very tick.

'Get Lucky' was gripping from the start, highly enjoyable and made me smile and laugh almost the entire time. Told in dual POV, Julia and Nate’s story is told both in the past and present. I can’t say I’m a big fan of this kind of storytelling, but here it worked. It definitely made the story more addictive. The story was fast paced and Mrs. Monroe’s storytelling was really engaging.

While the story is not very long, the characters’ backgrounds were well developed, which I really liked. Julia and Nate’s portrayals were really great and I found these two characters to be endearing and so much fun from the beginning. Sure, Nate was arrogant and rude, but I didn’t dislike him for one moment, so if you like your hero to be a little jerk, you will like him just fine. As the story progressed he was sweet, charming and attentive, so he really won me over. Julia was a very endearing character. I loved how full of life she was and of course her smart mouth. She was genuine, she had a fantastic personality, she had no filter and I had no problem connecting with her. Like at all! She was pure and simply fun and the perfect match for our hero.

The chemistry between these two was off the charts and all the sexy scenes between them were really hot and passionate. I loved how the steam aspect was done!

Overall, a fantastic read filled with humor and steam that will make you smile, laugh and fell in love with these two main characters!

“Everyone goes to Vegas hoping they’ll get lucky. More often than not, they go home disappointed. Sometimes, though, just sometimes, you get lucky beyond your wildest dreams.
What happens then? You go all in.”

Tip - Don't eat seafood in the middle of the desert

Waking up in Vegas with no memory…Oh Geez, I’m reading one of those books…AGAIN. Nooooo!!

Thankfully, I was wrong. In the first couple of chapters I was thinking – this author has put her blood sweat and tears into this…I must force myself to read on. Then, things sort of changed. I started grinning, groaning and blushing. What I thought was going to be a humdrum - What Happens in Vegas… ended up being so much more. I was busting a gut laughing with each new memory hitting the couple. I was a wee bit turned on with the steam that is produced with a little alcohol and a lot of suppressed emotions. Our main characters start their story not particularly liking each other, but as things moved along, we get to know them and their history.

Julia is a successful romance writer scheduled to attend a readers and writers conference in Vegas. With a few commitments here and there, she is really looking forward to catching up with her kooky agent Meredith, and best mate and fellow romance author, Shanna. Julia has just signed divorce papers and is ready to let her hair down and party a little. She runs into a man (literally) and then finds herself in his company and having a few drinks with him and his mates. This man (who she ran into) has a stick firmly placed where the sun doesn't shine. He is arrogant, rude and condescending. Julia doesn’t want to spend any more time than is necessary, within his company.

Nate is a divorce lawyer, the most unromantic profession in the world. With his negatives experiences stemming from his career and having lived through a nasty break up with a girlfriend who found her one true love…in someone else, I don't blame him. It broke something in him and he turned into a working robot. No emotions and cutting comments guarantee that people don’t get too close to him. Then…this woman crashes into his world and she’s romantic, fun-loving and smiles. THE HORROR!!!

At first, I struggled with the way this book was written. It’s one of those. You jump back and forth in time, putting together a puzzle. The puzzle is - WTF did I do last night? In this case, we are finding out what happened to Nate and Julia as their memories resurface. Those memories are at times hilarious and at times cringe-worthy. Who would want to find out that you may…or not, have stripped off your clothes in public? How would you feel if complete strangers asked, with a smirk on their lips, whether you remembered so and so? Did they fubar to the 100th degree by finding Elvis in a little chapel?

Honestly, this book had parts that were expected when we visit Vegas and memories are missing, but there was a lot more to it. Both Julia and Nate have scars but deep down want a love that is special and complete. Luckily we aren’t forced to believe that a two-day relationship leads to a happy ever after, but we are left with the possibility that they can make it to the end. There are scenes set in the romance convention that is familiar and real to our community and the author has got it right. We aren’t all cookie cutter readers. Romance readers are doctors, lawyers, pharmacists, and housewives. Some of us like to step back in time, some of us like to move forward in time. Some like the kink while others like a mystery. What other genre can satisfy us all? We, the romance readers, know the reality of life…but we also like stepping out of reality and finding escape in loving love.

By the way, it was Julia and Nate's poor friends who learnt the valuable lesson about seafood in the desert.

Get Lucky is an enchanting, steamy, delightful read I never wanted to end!

To say I found my first Lila Monroe book a success would be an understatement. I couldn't get enough. I DID NOT WANT IT TO END! EVER! It was SOOOO good! Actually, it was BEYOND good. Everything from the plot, to the main characters, to the supporting characters was PERFECTION. Our Hero and Heroine, Nate and Julia, were unique, charismatic, all around bewitching! They undoubtedly became two of my favorite characters. I loved everything in this from the pacing, to the way the story transitioned from past to present. I loved the structure of it, the way the pieces of the puzzle came together by the end.

It was SO MUCH FUN, every page an absolute blast! And I found it to be a brilliant take on the CRAZY Vegas story. Memorable. Addicting. Hilarious. I don't think I've laughed, smiled and swooned that much in awhile.

Nate's in Vegas for his Best Friends wedding. And Julia's there for a book conference. Both are coming off some seriously crappy break ups. Julia, a divorce and Nate, well, he was left broken by someone he loved and trusted. He doesn't believe in love anymore. He's bitter. He's a little more than angry. But Julia, she's a romance writer. Love is her bread and butter and she's ready to put the past behind her, starting with this weekend in Vegas.

Nate is a jerk. **hahaha** The sexiest, most endearing jerk around, but an ass nonetheless. Yet, even broody, sulky and utterly pissed at the world, he kept that dreamy-alpha male status locked down. I LOVED him and his filthy mouth. I loved his cocky attitude. I loved his inner monologue. I loved the way he reasoned with himself when it came to Julia. He had me laughing so hard. Even in moments when he wasn't trying to be swoony, he just was! He couldn't help himself. He's that great. And he won me over, big time. The perfect Hero, IMO!

Julia... I. CAN'T. SAY. ENOUGH. GOOD. THINGS!!!! I LOVE HER. Like LURVVVEEEEE her. Like I'd take her as my bride to be! **LMAO***

While reading, I kept thinking, "God, I want this girl as my bestie!" She's fantastic, a free spirit, sweet as sugar, sharp as a tack. Her wit and snark made her so charming. I adored her zest for life. Her aura felt pure. I loved that she didn't hold back. She said what she wanted, did what she wanted. I relished the way she laughed and smiled without restraint. Inside and out, she's beautiful. I don't think I could love her anymore than I do.

When these two meet up it doesn't go well. Get Lucky is a "hate/love" you romance. These two can't stand each other at first. When Nate and Julia wake up together, they have ZERO recollection of how they got there, or what they did the night before. They end up retracing their steps and what they find is down right hilarious! This story is bursting with twists and turns that'll have you rolling on the floor, laughing.

“Do you like remembering?” I ask, looking up at him. I place my hand on his chest, right above his heart. It’s beating faster and faster; always a good sign. What the hell? Live like your fantasies a little, Julia. I raise myself up lightly on my toes, just brushing my lips against his as I speak. “Did it turn you on?”
“It did,” he growls, and kisses me.

Lila Monroe crafted a story that brought a little of everything: humor, adventure, steamy sex, attempted kidnappings, skinny dipping, a crazy bird, and of course romance. So much romance. The laughs were priceless, the swoon as real as if it was happening to me. I loved everything about it. All the words!

EVERY SINGLE ONE.

There's nothing I would change.

I highly recommend this to the RomCom reader who wants a good time. THIS IS IT! It has everything you could want and more!

As I was reading this book, I kept thinking it read like a madcap, screwball comedy from the 1930s or 1940s but with glow-in-the-dark condoms and a parrot kidnapping. And a hero who is "Mr. Grumpy Cat transformed into a human being." God, it's so damn funny and sexy.

Julia's in Vegas for a romance writer's convention. Nate's in Vegas because his best friend is getting married. They get drunk and hook up--but can't remember what happened. So the rest of the book is spent unraveling their wild Vegas night.

I loved it.

Julia is a supernerd with verbal diarrhea, and because she's a romance writer (and Whovian) lives mostly in her imagination. Her inner monologues were so funny that as I was reading this late at night, I woke up my house from laughing out loud. She gets sidetracked and digresses and those observations and comments are everything.

She also likes the hunky jerkwad she woke up next to.

Nate's a divorce lawyer who comes to realize that he likes the supernerd girl even if he doesn't get her Padawan jokes. He's cynical and aloof, but we come to realize that those are defense mechanisms from being hurt badly.

This is the kind of book that needs to be read out loud and acted out, although if that happened, your sides would be splitting from laughing so much. But it's got heart and OMG sexy times.

I'd recommend this book to anyone who needs a good laugh and who loves sexy romance. It's all in here amidst the wackiness of Vegas.

5 I want to read it again stars.

Writing a funny erotic romance novel is not easy. I have read a lot of romance novels and the ones that go for light hearted and hot fall into 3 categories: Those that work. Those that focus on the humor too much and forget to focus on the heat and passion. Those that force the humor in-between the sex, but you can tell the humor was an afterthought.

This one just works. Lila Monroe did a 5 star perfect job with “Get Lucky” and the balance of the sex, humor and character development works.

I was laughing from page one, literally. Nate and Julia have the absolute best chemistry. And, Nate really is a sexy jerk, so you understand where Julia is coming from when she makes it clear she hates him. Through his POV (and a little help from his friends) you get to know Nate and learn why he is so closed off, why he is ok with people thinking he is a jerk. So, you are able to be ok with the budding attraction between the 2 of them. Even though they aren’t ok with it at all.

I know saying something is perfect isn’t really descriptive…but in this case it was. Nate and Julia had exactly the chemistry I wanted them to have. The book had the exact balance of humor and seriousness that I wanted. I was laughing, I wanted to know what would happen to them next, what one of them would say or do next, and I wanted to continue to explore their relationship. I wanted it all. Good thing this book delivered.

What I loved about this is that it seemed real, it seemed natural. I felt like I knew them through their story, like they were both people I would want to hang out with…ok, maybe not beginning of the book Nate, but end of book Nate.

I loved that even situations that seemed like there was no way this could possibly happen had a reasonable (well, a reasonable for Vegas anyway, which is a totally different bar) explanation that not only worked but fit with the characters.

It is written with a dual POV and in a series of scenes that are some flashback and others in current time. But, it never got confusing who was speaking or when it was, last night or today. This is because Julia and Nate are so well defined, you know who is thinking what. And, the non-verbal cues of the characters tell you immediately if something is happening in the “now” or during the drunken night.

Apparently, it is possible to find a character and story hot, even while snort-laughing.

About sharks.

And David Tennant.

Just read the book.

Julia Stevens and Nate Wexler are both in Las Vegas for entirely different reasons— Julia's there with her agent and author friends for the Romantic Style Convention, and Nate's there for the wedding of his best friends, Mike and Stacy. After a literal run-in at the lobby and a bad impression, the two do not expect to cross paths again, much less wake up in the same bed the next day with no recollection of what happened the night before. But's it's Vegas. Everything and anything you want to do, you can do in Las Vegas.

Me to this book:

What did I love about Get Lucky?

First of all, Julia. Julia's inner monologues are hilarious! She's such a geek. It was such a hoot to read The Doctors sparring in her mind. And the fandom references in general. She's such a funny person.

But I’m a hobbit. We believe in second luncheon. Where should I meet you guys?

She also constantly thinks of the things she plans to writes. She compares people to her characters, makes characters on people she meets, and she thinks of dialogue all the time. I'm not a published author or anything, but I write, and I can totally relate to her!

If I were writing this in a book, I would’ve had the happy ending nailed down tight on the final page, it’s true. There would’ve been a definite proposal, a serious assurance to the reader that this is forever...

The Pride and Prejudice references. I would never have fully associated P&P with this book if it weren't for Julia comparing Nate to Mr. Darcy...sort of.

If Mr. Darcy was a modern man with a rolling suitcase, a stick shoved way up his ass, and no actual redeemable qualities, he might be this guy.

But still. It was amusing to see the similarities. Nate brushes her off based on a first impression. He even insults her! Soon, he notices her good points, and is drawn by her laugh and sense of humor. And you know the rest. Happy ending. I love it! Haha

The adventure. It was so entertaining to see what happened to the two the night before and what happened to make them remember it all. Matching tattoos? Russian mob? Getting stranded in the middle of nowhere? Dancing in the Bellagio fountain...in the nude? Crazy hot sex? Elvis Presley impersonator? Yup. It's all here.

Their back stories. I love how un-dramatic it was. I mean, divorce and break up are pretty dramatic, but they're normal. It can happen to anyone. They don't have murderers running after them or they're not plagued with a past so dark, you'd need night vision goggles. It makes both Nate and Julia relatable.

Meredith. Gosh. She has such a potty mouth! People would constantly give her the stink eye if she's here where I'm from, but we all know she wouldn't give a flying fuck anyway.

Last but not the least, Nate. At first, like my dear Mr. Darcy, Nate is a sullen man with a perpetual pole lodged up his ass. He judges people on the spot and looks at them in disdain if they don't reach his expectations. But soon—with a little help booze—he lightens up and shows Julia his playful and sweeter side. It helps that he's sex on a stick. ;)

I don't know if it's obvious that I loved the book, but if in case it's not, I loved it! It's my first Lila Monroe book, but it definitely would not be my last.

Overall Opinion: This was a cute, funny, sexy, light read. I definitely had some moments where I was giggling and trying not to wake my husband up, but I did think that other times it was a little OTT and trying to hard to be reminiscent of the hangover. This would be a good read for in between heavy or dark ones to keep your spirits up :)

Brief Summary of the Storyline: This is Julia and Nate's story. The story starts hangover style with them waking up with no recollection as to what happened the night before naked in bed together. It then goes back to when they literally bump into one another in Vegas. Julia is there for a romance writer convention, and Nate is there for a friend's wedding. The first interaction isn't all that friendly, but when they meet again with some heavy liquor it goes much more smoothly. They spend the next day trying to find out what exactly happened the night before, and find some strong feelings for one another too...and get a HFN ending.

POV: This alternated between Julia and Nate's POV.

Overall Pace of Story: Good. I thought it flowed well, and I never skimmed.

Instalove: Yes, they've only known each other for a few days.

H rating: 3 stars. Nate. He was really bitter at times, and I wanted to shake him.

h rating: 4 stars. Julia. I liked her positive outlook on everything. She was a little OTT at times with her sarcasm (which I am sarcastic and was raised in a sarcastic home, so that says a lot).

Sadness level: Low. No tissues needed.

Push/Pull: Kind of.

Heat level: Moderate. They had some hot chemistry and scenes.

Descriptive sex: Yes.

Safe sex: Yes. Condoms are used, and I don't remember any other mention of previous practices.

OW/OM drama: No

Sex scene with OW or OM: No

Cheating: No

Separation: Only of a couple hours.

Possible Triggers: No

Closure: This had ok closure, but yet again I wanted more. I would call it a HFN ending

How I got it: It was part of my kindle unlimited subscription.

Safety: Safe

OMG! I've NEVER had SO MUCH FUN while reading a book! This was insanely good, ridiculously sexy, AND extremely hilarious! Who is Lila Monroe and where the HELL has she been all my life! I want MORE dammit! A woman who is in LOVE with LOVE like it's her job (well, it kinda is) and a man hell-bent on never letting love in again, wake up in bed together not having ANY idea on how they got there OR anything that happened last night. These two could not be any more different, but they have to put their heads together to find out what the HELL happened. As they spend more and more time together, their memories slowly come back them, as does their smokin' HOT chemistry. Julia and Nate have been burned by love in the past, so as the memories of their INSANE night come flooding back, will they be able to trust what they felt or will they blow it off and TRULY let what happened in Vegas stay in Vegas?

MY GOD! This was just a sexy side-splitting good time! I enjoyed every single minute of Julia and Nate's confusion, recognition, and sexy shenanigans! GET LUCKY by Lila Monroe was the romantic and sexy version of the Hangover! Can you even imagine? That's right, you can't until you BUY THIS BOOK! Was it fate? Was it luck? Who the HELL cares...it was GENIUS! I NEED this to be a movie! I need there to be a GET LUCKY 2...maybe a honeymoon back in Vegas...who knows! I just need more of this couple AND I need more of Meredith and Tyler! The whole gang was so incredibly fun to hang out with for a few hours. I absolutely LOVE finding new authors who knock my socks off, and GET LUCKY did just that! Talk about a rip-roaring and insanely HOT good time! Authors who can write Romantic Comedy like it's nobody's business, are my heroes!

If you are looking for a romance that goes from HILARITY to HOT is 2.5 seconds...look no further...GET LUCKY is the read for you!

This night will be special for us

My first Lila Monroe book and my god, I'm buying all her books while writing this review.

Get Lucky may not bring anything new as far as storylines go - grumpy, skeptical divorce attorney and a freshly divorced romance author who still hopes for her own happy ending, we all know the types. Got drunk in Vegas and had the best night of their lives, now who remembers if they are married too, or not? Nothing new there, right? False.

Ms. Monroe delivers the story in such a brilliant way, I could have devoured it in one sitting. It's ridiculously funny (and not at all in a forced way), super steamy and so perfectly witty.
I have a soft spot for really witty books.
Sigh.

A perfectly entertaining read!

I'm sorry but this book is terrible. I'm obviously in the minority from all of the latest reviewers but there were a few issues for me to make me give up on the book.

1. Julia was not funny. Like, not at all. Her sense of humor was incredibly forced and more annoying than anything.

2. I barely knew what the hell she was talking about when she talked about Tenth and whatever the fuck else. That's just bad writing, in my opinion, writing about things outside of the storyline but not actually explaining them to the reader.

3. Storyline...yeah, a terrible bite off of The Hangover. Not even close to entertaining, either.

Bottom line, closet sex scene was spicy, but not enough to put up with the rest of the book.

Nope.

I had a great time reading this funny, interesting and most of all cheerful book. Nate Wexler and Julia Stevens kept me good company and made me "suffer" alongside them, with their antics and snide comments, while they made me hot and bothered with their sexual chemistry which was off the charts, but sadly that was the only thing they had chemistry on! I Needed something more, but it was still very pleasant!

I'd like to start off by saying that Nate had me at:

Deadpool

Gotta love a man who appreciates Deadpool!

There were many funny moments in this book, which would be expected when you pair a free spirit with a tight ass. I liked everytime that Julia got Nate to loosen up. Slowly learning about what happened that night/morning in Vegas was a riot.

The many Doctor Who references were a tad annoying but the awkward laughs made it worthwhile. I can't really complain because I'm a nerd myself so I could appreciate Julia's quirks.

The chemistry was amazing. The side characters were hilarious. The ending was abrupt.

Enjoy! xo

When Julia and Nate meet in Las Vegas they didn't know what the next few days had in store for them.

Julia is a best selling author who at heart believes in love despite her recent divorce. She's in Vegas for a romance author convention (think RT).

Nate is in town for his best friend's wedding. Being a divorce lawyer he of course is a mega cynic on couples getting the HEA.

Cue to them waking up in a bed and not remembering what happened the night before. The whole premise is like Hangover gone a little soft. It was cute and funny with a few hot scenes thrown in.

The reason I'm not rating higher is because it was a bit too "cutesy" for me. Julia's jokes kind of went over my head at times and her internal dialogue didn't make a whole lot of sense. I'm not really into the same stuff she is and there are many people who are and will get it. I just didn't.

This one promises to be a hit for people that hate angst and just like cute reads.

With Julia, there’s nothing to worry about. Even when we want to kill each other, it’s easy.

What do you get when you throw a romance author and a jaded divorce attorney together. LOTS of sparks!! :-D

This book was a lot of fun. The banter between Nate and Julia was hilarious. Seeing these two trying to figure out what happened the night before after they woke up together in bed, very naked and hung-over was excellent. These two sure did they everything they could on their drunken night in Vegas, and I enjoyed every moment of it.

Damn the sex between these were so freaking hot, and I really enjoyed their romance. I would have preferred a HEA ending instead of the HFN, but other than that I REALLY liked this book.

My favorite part was most probably Julia’s agent, Meredith, and for a fifty seven year old woman she was da bomb!! She was wicked, with absolutely no filter, and had me in tears with all the outrageous things she said :-D

A definite must read for when you need a shortish book with lots of humour and no OTT drama. Highly recommended.

"Everyone goes to Vegas hoping they'll get lucky.
More often than not, they go home disappointed. Sometimes, though, just sometimes, you get lucky beyond your wildest dreams.
What happens then? You go all in."

This was incredible!!! I had this ebook for so long and I regret not picking it up sooner. This was absolutely hilarious.
I laughed so much with Julia. She was super genuine and real. She was the kind of person I'd love to have as a best friend. She's fierce, strong and goes after what she wants. I totally loved how she reacted when

Anyway, I loved it. Laughed really hard during this read. I love a good rom-com. Can't wait to check the rest of this standalone series.
