Muhammad Asim Butt (Urdu: محمد عاصم بٹ) is a Pakistani novelist, short story writer, translator, researcher, editor, critic and journalist.
He obtained a Master's degree in philosophy from Government College University, Lahore, Pakistan.
He started his career as a journalist but soon shifted to the development sector as human rights activist.
Butt's work can be categorized into various genres of Urdu literature:

some stories are really good translated....otherwise translation is not so good as during translation plot of the stories has been severely destroyed and they are not able to cast the Kafka impression on their readers...more or less I am disappointed with this book...
