Trinity Grace has never been a carefree soul. Life never gave her the chance. As an only child and pseudo guardian of an alcoholic mother, for nearly a decade, Trinity is desperate for independence and change.
Operation "Saving Grace" began the moment the recruiter offered her a full-ride and a guaranteed career after college. Now, with only a couple weeks left in her junior year, things are finally on track. Until she meets Staff Sergeant Ryder, the man who will change everything and challenge her in ways she never imagined. Will she accept his friendship and her destiny or fall like so many before her?
Welcome to my sweet pandemonium, where angels, athletes and bikers come alive. Not always together, of course, but a girl can DREAM!! Happy reading, lovelies! The sky is the limit.
I don't even know where to start. Angels are my favorite subject and I adore the idea that they have the need to find love. This book is the epitome of that ideal. Trinity is a young woman that is making her way through college with the help of the Army. She is prepping for a planned exercise and meets Ryder. Holy Hotness!! Ryder and Trinity make the pages catch fire without anyone actually removing their clothes. I loved that they didn't just jump into bed together. There is definitely the good vs. evil motif and it totally works!! I cannot wait for the next book in this series. Hurry up, Michele!! I need to know what happens next!
An Accountant by day… and Writer by night… Author Michele Faison discovered her passion for writing eleven years ago. After finding solace in writing, Michele Faison decided to create the perfect hiding spot from reality and put pen to paper and created her Guardian Series. First stop…Ethereal!
“Ethereal,” Michele Faison's debut novel is an amazing start to her Guardian Series, and a wonderful homage to our men and women in uniform. I was immediately captivated by the main character Trinity, her strength and determination for her independence was admirable. Chase, Trinity’s love interest, was as equally as captivating and the author did a phenomenal job of creating the World that Trinity and Chase lived in, so much so…that you felt like you were a part of the story.
There is something in this book that every book lover can appreciate it, for me… I’m just a hopeless romantic. I was so fascinated by this story that Author Michele Faison and I just had to sit down and talk about the inspiration behind “Ethereal.” This is definitely a book you just want to curl up with and immerse yourself in the love story of Chase and Trinity…and I absolutely... love this book!
I have received Ethereal by Michele Faison thanks to a Goodreads giveaway.
I had never read anything from this author before, though I was intrigued by this concept. The protagonist, Trinity Grace, is your average ROTC college student with a pair of wings. The story begins with a dream that delicately and suspiciously foreshadows to future events. Faison had me hooked by the end of the third chapter. I loved reading about this not so typical love story and the adventures had me feeling winded (pun intended)! I was a bit confused about the whole situation at the end, however I can imagine it all being cleared up in the sequel, which I am already anxious to read. Around the last hundred pages, I began thinking that the book could be better if there was another point of view (rather than just Trinity). Like she read my mind, Faison included Chase's point of view, though it was only one chapter. I would like having more of this in the next sequel!?
Rating: I gave this book four stars rather than five due to the limited amount of information Faison gives about Trinity. We are only given a glimpse of her past and I found that a tad irritating. I desperately tried to piece together her childhood but found it increasingly difficult. I do recommend this book to YA lovers who enjoy a bit of romance with the suspense of Angels. I think it was it was much better than the Fallen series by Lauren Kate (which deals with Fallen Angels also). Lastly, I would like to briefly mention that "alright" is incorrect; it's supposed to be "all right". I saw this mistake spread throughout the book and just thought I'd mention it.:)
Ethereal is the first book in the paranormal Guardian series. Trinity and her friend Cheryl are finishing their Junior year of college and preparing for a month of training with the Army. By enlisting in the service, they have their schooling paid for and a career laid out and waiting for them when they graduate. Two officers are introduced to their growing group and these handsome strangers are not what they appear. When a dream warns her to trust her instincts in whom to trust, she learns more about herself and her life than she could have ever anticipated. I love paranormal/angel books and this book did not disappoint. Great story and character development. I love Chase and James and I am looking forward to the next book. 5 stars.
This book is a whole different take on the soldiers who guard our freedom and protect those weaker than themselves. With her husband - an army combat vet - as an information source, the author is able to give a realistic picture of military life (which will go more in-depth military-wise in the second in this series) while making her readers fall in love with Trinity and Chase. This is the first book in a trilogy, and I can't wait for her to publish Surreal, the second book! The author's second published book, Blitz, was just released, and - while 180* different from Ethereal - it, too, is an awesome read!
I thought the author did an excellent job choreographing the military and having the characters blend into the Angel armies was flawless. Not to mention the Fallen Angels as well; That aspect delightfully surprised me. The tension of conflict I thought was clear as to whom the heroine, Trinity, was going to love, and yet Trinity's desperately sought out her own independence, kept me guessing. Was it going to be Staff Sergeant Ryder or a new recruit, Josh. I don't want to give away any surprises. I can't wait to get my hands on the second book of the Guardian Series, Surreal.
I was one of the lucky few that received an ARC of Michele Faison's debut novel Ethereal and it is an amazing start to this series. I literally could not put this book down. I can't wait for the next one.Trinity is beautiful, smart, and independent. Her love interest Chase is a hottie. If you want a book that has a little bit of everything then I suggest reading Ethereal you will not be disappointed. I look forward to reading more of this authors work.
The book starts with Trinity and her friends finishing up the semester in college. She is more than she seems and becomes aware of her new life. A decent book to read with a small cliffhanger leading into the next book.
Having never read this Author I was unsure what to expect. The first few pages had me thinking the whole book would be filled with an over abundance of adjectives. Not so! By the end of the second chapter, I was hooked! I started to envision the characters in my mind and to care for them and the paths they were choosing. Faison has excellent character development and a very good fantasy story line. The conclusion of the book seemed a little rushed, but I am anxious to know more of the lives of Trinity, Chase, James, Josh, and the others! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this book to other fantasy fans. A quick but entertaining read.
