Lani Lynn Vale is married to the love of her life that she met in high school. She fell in love with him because he was wearing baseball pants. Ten years later they have three perfectly crazy children and a cat named Demon who likes to wake her up at ungodly times in the night. They live in the greatest state in the world, Texas. She writes contemporary and romantic suspense, and has a love for all things romance. You can find Lani in front of her computer writing away in her fictional characters world...that is until her husband and kids demand sustenance in the form of food and drink.
OMG, it feels like I’ve been waiting for this book since for-freaking-ever – ok, not really true since Lani Lynn Vale is a writing super machine, LOL -, but ever since Wolf was first mentioned in Michael’s book, Coup de Grace, my curiosity was awaken, and from that moment on every time he was mentioned in the any of her other books, even if only in passage my expectation for his story raised another level! Let me tell you now that the wait was more than worth it because Wolf is all that and SO much more! And Raven… She’s just as fantastic!
Raven has been living in a nightmare for what it seems her whole life, but when she was kidnapped, tortured and raped by a man she thought she could trust, she was left completely shattered and with no hope for a better future.
I was beyond broken. I was crushed. There was nothing that could put me back together again.
So when she was rescued from her tortured hell by a dark and handsome man, seeing at her lowest, and treating her with all the care and affection in the world, she saw him as her savior, her hero.
Wolf was my game changer. He was the man I would forever compare all future men to.
And he was all that and more to her, and even in her fragile state, in every way, she felt the deep connection between themselves. Not even all the pain and hurt her body and soul had suffered at the hands of their capture could erase they magnetism.
Wolf had been my dream come true—the one thing I never thought I’d be able to have.
Wolf was everything I ever wanted, and the one thing I didn’t think I deserved.
Of course that for more than one reason, as him being taken and she feeling she didn’t deserve him, made her step away and leave Uncertain. What she hadn’t yet realized was that her feeling weren’t one sided, and Wolf was as in deep as she was, and that his relationship was not exactly what it may seem (not revealing too much so that I don’t spoil it, lol), and that maybe he was also giving her time to recover her strength and heal, after her attack.
Wolf… Wow… He was just as fantastic as I’d hoped for! After his brutal attack where he was shot in the head, he took on the role of his best friend’s orphaned son like he was his own, which make us all melt. His interactions with little Nathan was so heart warning that make our ovaries explode!
But because of his past, his upbringing and what he had to do in his job and his club, he doesn’t feel worthy of anything as beautiful and pure as Raven, to whom he was instantly attracted from even the very first glance in those horrible circumstances. For that he tried to support her in every way he could through her recovery journey, which brought them even closer. What he didn’t expect was for her to leave just when he decided she well enough, and that maybe it was time to step up and take a risk, because their attraction was to great to ignore.
When he finally finds her, even though accidentally, he isn’t letting go and soon they bodies and hearts show them just how fated they are, and how good they help each other heal.
“I am a bad person,” he started. “But you make me want to be a better person.”
Their feelings and relationship development were beautifully written by Lani Lynn Vale, and I adored how in depth she took us into their thoughts, theirs fears, their passion – and boy did they have passion, because their sex scenes were off-the-charts HOT – and their love. I really fell in love right along with them! <3
I’d never felt anything like this pure, unaltered passion. This passion we had for each was something that would never, ever fade.
In true Lani Lynn Vale fashion we don’t get just the amazing relationship development! We get plenty of true enrapturing suspense in the side plot, a lot of looks into the previous MC characters, which is always incredibly satisfying, but what I really adore, and not many authors do it with this naturality, are those incredible and hilarious snippets! I can’t get enough of them! And of course Rusty Nail was full of them, and sizzling beard-related comments! Come on who doesn’t love those?!
If I could make his beard into my lucky rabbit’s foot and hang it from my keychain, you wouldn’t find my hand empty with all the good luck rubbing I’d be doing.
His beard tickled my chest, and I refused to react, even though everything inside of me urged me to stroke his beard. Damn his magical bearded powers against my hormones!
It really was a fantastic book with everything Lani Lynn Vale does best, and the perfect ending for the series, – not really written in stone, because according to the author we may have more Uncertain Saints at some point – and even more, the perfect closure for a year of incredible LLV books with more than TWELVE books, – fourteen to be exact – more than one a month!!! How stunning is that?! Now, for the New Year, as a unmoving Lani Lynn Vale über fan, I can only hope she keeps them coming, because I need my Lani fix!!! They are ADDICTIVE!!! <3 <3 <3 <3 <3
Every time you even seem like you’re forgetting me, I’m going to show you, just like I’m about to do, just what you’ll be missing by me not being there. I’m going to give you everything I have to give, and then I’m going to pull out more. I’m going to drown you in me, and make it physically impossible for you to ever leave me.” He lifted my hips and lined his cock up with my entrance. “You’re mine just as I’m yours, and I’ll never let you forget that. Not for the next hundred years.”
“You mean just as much to me, you know,” I whispered to him, looking over my shoulder so he could see the sincerity in my eyes. “There’s not a day that goes by that I don’t fall more in love with you than I was the day before.”

Two people who’ve been hurt could come together and learn to love again. This is Rusty Nail a story about Wolf and Raven who have both suffered things in their life, which it’s been difficult to move on. They had to deal some difficult situations through their journey, but came out stronger in the end. “What you did for me. The night you found me. What you did. I remember. Everything.” From the start these two had a connection, but neither wanted to act on it due the fact they didn’t want to get hurt again. After these two finally realize that both could be happy again, they gave it a try. I loved Wolf even though at times was an Alpha, but I also loved Raven cause she at times didn’t put with his crap. Which made this chemistry between them off the charts; yes you get the drama that comes along with the story. But also you get some really good sexy scenes with a really good storyline, but also about starting over and never looking back. “Because I won’t let you. Every time you even seem like you’re forgetting me, I’m going to show you, just like I’m about to do, just what you’ll be missing by me not being there. I’m going to give you everything I have to give, and then I’m going to pull out more. I’m going to drown you in me, and make it physically impossible for you to ever leave me” I couldn’t wait for this book and it didn’t disappointment at all. Every book Lani writes keeps getting better every time.
The first scene was horrific but felt unemotional. Why the fuck was the h thinking of chickens when a woman HAD A SWORD SHOVED THROUGH HER PREGNANT STOMACH right in front of her?!! I can’t believe how dismissive she was about being tortured and raped for 4 months
DNF'd for the following reasons: Messy dialogue No story line (or a fucked up one) Too many names that I am supposed to remember from previous books in the series (girl, do you know how many books I read?? A LOT!!)
I am in LOVE with Wolf and Raven!!! Good God the man is hot! Alpha, bossy, stubborn, sexy, loving and a freak in the sheets pretty much sums Wolf up. Raven is an amazing heroine; she’s been through a not so good childhood and survived the most horrible experience, yet is strong, sassy and not scared to stand up to alpha males. Wolf has also had a hard life so he and Raven could’ve been a match made in heaven or a match made in hell. Thankfully they are a match made in heaven, their chemistry is intense and I absolutely love the banter between the two of them. Wolf immediately knew he was going to make Raven his but Raven wasn’t in agreement because she didn’t want to face her growing feeling for him, because of this she did not make it easy for him to claim her, but when he did…he DID.
With loveable characters, drama, love, alpha men, sassy women, danger and super sexy times, Rusty Nail is everything I love in a romance. Crafting consistently good books, Lani Lynn Vale has rapidly risen to be one of my all time faves and I cannot wait for the next book!!!
If this is the end of the series it was awesome, I am sad to see it end though. I loved every book! It was a breath of fresh air. You have these tatted up “bad ass” bikers who are also law abiding –ish law men!
LOVE it.. I know I said that already but I did. Ok on to Wolf and Raven, these 2 it was so hard to hear the beginning of this book but I loved how Raven fights through. She is something else I tell you. I love that she doesn’t let her past hinder her present. Of course it’s not going to magically just disappear but she is a fight our Raven.
I am in love with WOLF! How he takes his friends son in like that, make him his. Swoon. I mean really no questions asked that’s just the type of man he is.
And oh how he loves Raven. God I need a fan or some ice over here!!
Sigh just read this series I mean it you won’t regret it, fantastic narration through every book. I can’t praise it enough. Love, love, love ❤
*You don't have to like my review but its 100% my opinion, and I am allowed to have it.*
NOTE: I wouldn't necessarily say you HAVE to read the previous books before you read Rusty Nail, but Wolf and Raven both play rolls in past books and that is how we meet them ... but they're not *together* then so .... up to you.
OKAY, now for the good stuff. Another exceptional addition to an already really good series. It's too bad its come to a close now. I've loved every individual story as well as the series arc as a whole and Rusty Nail continued the tradition of love for me. Wolf and Raven both have had some seriously NON rainbows and gumdrops history, but they are both survivors, and thru each other they grew stronger. I loved them both SO much!
Lani Lynn Vale really knows how to mix the angst and drama with the (very) sexy and love and friendship and brotherhood, seamlessly. This series is by far one of my favorite MC series and I highly recommend it to everyone!
This is the final installment of the Uncertain Saints series and it is the book we've all been waiting for - Wolf's
Lani is a great storyteller, but I'm not going to lie - there was something missing in this book for me, it felt incomplete. I feel the recent stories only focus on the action part and the romance is a side story. I want to grow with the couples. I mean we start this book with Raven moving away, then they are reunited unexpectedly, Raven needs saving - oh look, they're a couple. Other than sexy time, be don't get to see them grow. We get home runs, but I want the thrill of rounding the bases. I'd also like to know what became of Xavier.
One thing I absolutely loved is how Nathan's dad is kept alive for him. I think this is a great part of the story.
Good read, but easily forgettable which kills me to say.
It took me a lot to finish reading because I was putting others in front. I found it very disappointing. I love this author and she is one of my favorites, but the last few books disappoint me. I bought this on pre sale and started reading all full of expectations and nothing special happened in history ... I stopped in 70% and the rest was dragging. I hope the next one is better.
Rusty Nail is the sixth and final installment of Lani Lynn Vale’s Uncertain Saints MC series. I’ve read the entire series and I’ve absolutely loved it. Without question, it was a definite departure from Vale’s usual writing style, and I think the risk she took in putting out something so different paid off. This series is undeniably a bit darker and edgier than what we’ve seen from her previously. She’s tackled some tough topics in these books, and I think she’s done it well. I was excited to see an author whose work I love spread her wings so she can grow as an author, and as I watched the series evolve and unfold, I absolutely think Vale accomplished that. I enjoyed this series tremendously, and Rusty Nail was definitely my favorite of the series.
Readers of this series have been clamoring for Wolf’s story, and I think capping off the series with it was definitely the way to go out with a bang. Like everyone else, I too, have wanted Wolf’s story since he was introduced as a side character in the KPD SWAT series. My interest this character only grew with his supporting role in Controlled Burn, book 4 in her Kilgore Fire series. Portraying these broken, somewhat dark alpha male heroes and helping them find redemption or healing through love is somewhat of a Vale trademark and something she does exceptionally well. And for me, no character has needed that as much as Wolf did. There were some interesting twists and turns in this story, which is no surprise since Lani really knows how to ratchet up the suspenseful elements in her books. The story was fast-paced and action-packed, and the romance between Raven and Wolf was sexy, sweet and hard fought and won. I absolutely loved them together. What sets Lani apart, though, is her ability to deliver a suspenseful story, touching on a difficult subject, while still weaving in those threads of that humor that is so uniquely hers. No other author has quite the same slightly twisted sense of humor that Vale does. It’s the kind of humor you’d have privately with your best friend or your significant other, and Vale manages to capture that on the page in a such a way as the reader actually experiences it. It’s a special writing ability, and it’s one of the reasons why I love her books so much, I know that I can always count on that from her. Her writing style, her story lines, her characters and that Vale humor is just so different from anything else out there. All of this is on full display in Rusty Nail, and as usual, Vale pulled it all off, pulled it all together and put it all out there, and she did it with spectacular results.
This story ties up the series and puts a period at the end of it. While I’m very sad to see this series come to an end, I’m thrilled with how it did. I just loved Wolf’s story, and it made my heart so happy to see this man get his happily ever after. Lani Lynn Vale’s Rusty Nail gets five smooches from me.
Raven has lived a nightmare and was trying to move on the best way she can, she had been doing alright but when she finds herself fallen for a taken man she knows it is time to move on. Wolf knew that the women he was seeing was just a friend, nothing more. Wolf also knew that Raven was the girl for him but needed to get back on her feet. When she leaves he bides his time, but believes he will see her again. Wolf does see her again but working with someone from his past, Raven knows she wants Wolf but will she once she finds out about his past?
I want Wolf for my own, loved this book. I had been anxious about this one since I read about Wolf but also with Raven and a possible romance there. This was exceptional and everything I hoped it would be. Another outstanding read from Lani Lynn Vale.
Wtf did I just read? Well it's official this will be the last book I buy from Lani. Since the last few books have been written poorly and rushed, I just can't put myself to read her books anymore. This book was like reading a messed up puzzle. h was raped in past but wasn't fazed about it. The sex was like reading really bad porn lol. Explanations dragged on, half the time not needed. What happened in the diner at the end with all the females didn't make sense at all. Why did she shoot him? What happened to xavier in the end? the scenes kept jumping half through stuff happening Argh! So farewell my friends and here's hoping Lani actually slows downs and writes quality instead of rushed quantity.

Another 5 star read by the amazing Lani Lynn Vale. We have waited awhile for Wolf's story and it was most definitely worth the wait. This story shows us what Raven went through during her kidnapping not to mention her struggle through life. Wolf shows us what Raven means to him and how strong the chemistry is between these two. This book gives us every emotion possible not to mention the dramas that seem to present at every turn for both Raven and Wolf. Both are amazing characters and like I say at the end of each book I read of Ms Vale's this was by far the best, that is until the next book.
Great story! Finally we get Wolf's story and what a story it is. Loved both characters. Sorry to see the end of this particular series but looking forward to reading Kilgore Fire now.
It's not as horrible as the rest, but it's still not good. It's cookie cutter from the rest of the books. I was keeping my fingers crossed that Wolf would get a fabulous story. Seriously - LLV has NO imagination.
Wolf (cop dude whose wife and unborn kid were murdered in Coup de Grace (Code 11-K9) series) has been in love-ish with Raven (secretary, I honestly don't know her purpose in life) since he rescued her from where she was being raped. They have some time apart and then someone comes back into the lives of everyone and is hacking all their personal info, like an identity thief. They end up back together, have sex, bad guy comes, everyone is injured, HEA.
When she leaves him and he tracks her down, instead of apologizing and being sweet, he says, "I'm tired of your shit." Ummmmm ok. This is happens in most of her books. The men are rarely remorseful for what they've done. They always blame the FMC for being dramatic or whatever.
Things always in her books:
✔ saying "you broke me" after sex ✔ storms ✔ bearded men ✔ chocolate milk ❌ potty talk (vaginas, poop) ✔ dead kids ✔ rape ✔ dumb FMC ✔ pet with goofy names ✔ previously married ✔ Pre-existing kid
Like I said - it's not as horrible as most of her books, but it's still not good. I'm being generous with my 3 stars.
As I started reading this one I feel like there was some info missing, like a short story between the last book and this one, one with what happened to Raven and Wolf's sister.
Raven was a hot mess, but she was trying to find her way free of that, to live a happy life, but people kept stopping her. It sucked that she ran from a safe place, but I it was easy to understand why. Wolf really didn't give her a reason to stay. The whole dance that Wolf and Raven did drove me nuts. So much of their relationship was one step forward, 2 steps back. Even as they became closer events happened to push them apart.
I loved how Raven had the support of the club and the club's women. It helped that she could talk to someone, someone to help her get away when she needed a break and someone to help her see what was really going on.
The drama at the end was a bit crazy. So much going on, so much at stake. A good thing that once again the good guys prevailed.
Wolf and Raven's book was all over the place for me. We get them apart in the beginning, Raven moving away (but not very far) and then coming back into Wolf's life again. Wolf was dating Hannah and then decided to end it just when Raven was moving away. Thought the book had great potential, just not the best at effectuating the plot. There was the usual LLV danger interspersed with the romance between the characters. I just felt Raven and Wolf were rushed and didn't quite feel their connection. Their sexy times were good, but I was missing the day-to-day living they needed to do in order to get why they were with each other. Wondered what happened to Xavier. Did like how Wolf kept Nathan's memories of his dad prominent in his life.
I need to get something off my chest first: I was a little bit disappointed there weren't any flashbacks, or at least a prologue, of Wolf and Nathan in the beginning of them living together. Or of what Wolf did right after he left the hospital angry in Coup De Grâce... That being said, I enjoyed the book, although not as much as the previous ones because the plot twist felt rushed toward the end (no matter how great the action was).
Finally finished this series! I loved it. I share the quotes/funny saying's at the beginning of the chapter's with my husband and we always get a good laugh. As with all of Lani's stories I fell in love with Wolf and Raven. The tattoos are so cool. Lani has worked her way right up there to the top 5 one click go to author's for me!!! I highly recommend her! You will be hooked!!!🙌🙌😁😁
Lani Lynn Vale writes the best sexy scenes. The anticipation, whooh! *fanning my self* But on a clean note, this author is fast becoming one of my favorite ones.
I have waited for Wolf's book since he was mentioned in another book. He was always so tortured and distant that I had no idea what to expect. I have said this before, I have read all of these books out of order so I had no idea what was going on with Wolf and Hannah.... Travis' Hannah. I was floored when all was revealed!! It was an amazing book and I got a better understanding of Wolf's relationship with the Hail's and Raven with Rafe. It was just spectacular!!
If you are an Uncertain MC fan you have been waiting for this story. Wolf was first brought to us in Michael’s book – Coup de Grace. In an instant knowing what the man did for his friend in his death made me want his story immediately. However knowing Lani – I knew we would have to wait.
Raven is continuing to live her nightmare in her head. She hasn’t told anyone what happened to her while she was taken. The only person that saw her was Wolf. He saw her broken and saw her bound. Not only did he care for her but he covered her and she will never forget how he held her. Leaving was the best thing to do. He has his girl – he has his life and he has his son Nathan. Needing someone like her and someone abused and used as she is certainly isn’t a page in his book that she feels he is eager to write.
Wolf doesn’t feel that he is worthy of a strong woman like Raven. He knows she was tortured and seeing her testify against a man who brought that torture to her flesh deserves more than he can be or give her. Never in a million years did he expect her to run off though. As trouble begins to find Raven again along with Wolf and some other members of the MC he needs to enlist the help of a man who hates him. Keeping her safe may pose more difficult than it should be because Wolf is also a threat to her – her heart and her soul could cleanse his darkened self.
This is one very in depth and beautiful read. I was completely terrified once Raven revealed what she endured and how she blamed herself for not keeping July safe. Raven tried her best to take the brunt of harm but evil took over and she watched them inflict pain on a woman that deserved nothing of the sort. Wolf sees the harm that his sister and Raven fight through still in their heads. Going back and forth between his own personal demons and living with July and Ravens showed a deeply emotional and loving man beneath the hard surface. A father like no other he never wavered from protecting Nathan either.
Don’t skip over the chapter “Lanisms” as I have pegged them. They are once again brilliant. Sadly this is the last full length novel in this series but Lani has somewhat promised to keep these characters alive and well in future releases and we know they cross over into other story lines from time to time. I don’t think I can ever let any of the men from her series leave my heart completely.
The cover as usual is spot on. The photograph shows the anxiety of Wolf and his life and the pain that vibrates through his soul. Excellent choice and kudos to the model.
Amazing read – amazing ride with these men and so much more to come – Thank you for the ARC! Review to post to Ramblings From Beneath The Sheets.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Second reading:
After having FINALLY read the book Controlled Burn which concerns Wolfe's sister but also the books about the Hail brothers, I reread this one with a little more context ... And I enjoyed my second reading much more ! It's not my favorite book because I was a little less fond of Raven but the story was GREAT (seriously the FBI ??!!) and I loved the whole drama but also to have an overview of the different secondary characters that we will see again later (in particular Rafe who we see here much younger and with his sister in addition !!
In short, a book that concludes a series that is not my favorite by this author but which is still very pleasant to read for fans of sexy suspense romance =)
A nice romance but not unforgettable. I wish the heroine had a little more backbone ... In short, a nice series but each book looks more or less similar and with a few exceptions, it's not unforgettable. It remains a good series of romance to read during the holidays, on the beach, relax and without too much expectations =)
