The one woman who could bring light and warmth into his dark, cold world even though he's content with the reality he's destined to suffer. She should be forbidden, yet she’s not. You think you know what’s about to hit you. You have no idea. STONE - book three in The Elite Forces Series is going to bring you to your knees.

She graduated from Southwestern Oklahoma State University with an MBA in Accounting. I can’t believe I’m giving only 3 stars to the third installment in the Elite Forces series! I really wanted to give it a better rating but regretfully I couldn't. I LOVED Kaleb and Jade’s story from the first two books in the series, but I just didn't end up loving this one.
I started it with high expectations, thinking that the story will be the continuation of what began in book two, between Beau Harris (alias Stone) and Mallory… but I was wrong. After reading the prologue I was shocked and after the first chapter I was left so confused. It’s difficult to explain without relieving too much but while reading this book I struggled to overcome my disappointment and the way everything occurred.
Lot of readers loved it and I’m well aware that I’m in the minority there, but for me this story turned out to be different than what I expected. I liked it and enjoyed the characters individually but not together, mainly because of what was going on in Stone’s head and heart until the very end. I get that he was a brokenhearted man after what he went through and I also get the fact he was afraid, but quite frankly I didn't like how he used Emma then ducked her again and again.
I can’t deny that Stone’s personal story was intense, raw and highly emotional and hence the 3 stars rating, but I didn’t feel any real connection between the leads and not once I considered them as a couple.
Anyway, I enjoyed immensely seeing Kaleb and Jade again and the whole crew and as a big fan of this series, I’m looking forward to read Jackson and Samantha’s story. Kathy Coopmans and Hilary Storm have a unique talent to deliver wonderfully emotionally charged stories that leave their readers craving for more.
First let me say that I love both of these authors and point out that 3 stars means I liked it....
But I didn't love it. I couldn't get on board with Emmy and Beau as a couple -mainly for the reasons in his head. Read the story and you'll understand what I mean as I don't want any spoilers. The trip just seemed too easy with a quick resolution...I don't know, but I think I would have liked more "meat" to it. I loved seeing Kaleb and Jade again and I think the next book is going to be very interesting if it is the pairing we see hinted at near the end.
I was pulled right into this story. The story flowed so well I could not tell when the authors switching in the story. The story has laughs, suspense, pain, grief, and heartbreak.
If you have not read the below I would recommend reading those books(s) first ICE (Elite Forces, #1) Fire (Elite Forces #2)
This is Emmy and Stone’s story. Stone lost everything 6 months ago he really has nothing left. He is grieving and sees no reason not to hate everything and everyone. Emmy is Kaleb’s sister. She knows Stone went through something no one should ever have to. She can wait for him to stop hurting. She can be there for him whether he wants her there or not. But the more he opens up the more danger surrounds them. What happens when the person who broke him the first time comes back will he survive a second run in? Or will he lose everything all over again?
I loved these characters and also the side characters. I felt I was able to connect with the characters and the story was a great read.
I highly recommend this book and can’t wait for the next story from these two authors.
The Elite Series continues with Stone, and all I can say is WOW!!! I started reading and I couldn't put it down. A tale of heartache and loss, finding your way back from hell and living again that will have you calling for blood of the ones who you never saw coming. I love the way Kathy Coomans and Hilary Storm make us feel every emotion the Elite go through right along with them. This is Beau's story, and you will not be disappointed
WOW! This book.... Im kinda at a loss of words on it. First of all it is completely different from the first two books in the Elite Forces Series. Harris (Stone) is one troubled man. I literally cried for him numerous times while reading. Hes been at the highest of highs and lowest of lows in a matter of months. He is most definitely one of those fictional characters I want to hug super tight and not let go. The crew is also in this book and I couldn't get enough of them. I love how they are all bad asses but they are a family. They fight and bicker like brothers and sisters.
This story flows effortlessly to me. I loved how I couldn't tell (YET AGAIN) that this book was written by two amazing ladies. It was like it all came from one brilliant mind. The ups and downs are intense though. One minute I would be in tears with the heavy and laughing my ass off with the banter. Emmy brings out a side of Harris that he hasn't seen in months. Opposites attract with these two. Hes super intense and seems to fly off the rails at the drop of a dime. She is slightly reserved and thinks things out. They are both strong willed and super stubborn though. Emmy takes Harris with his very troubling past and just lets him be a man. She doesn't push. She takes him as he comes.
I loved this story. Although it is different from the first two books with the constant battle action it is no less amazing. I loved the characters. I loved the writing. Overall it was a great book and I wanted more of Harris and Emmys story. His cockiness and her sassiness had me smiling ear to ear. Hilary and Kathy are some serious writing bad asses!!! Love you ladies!

**Carla's Five Star Review
This is the third book in the Elite Forces series, and it is the story of Captain Beau Harris aka "Stone".
After suffering an unspeakable loss, life has brought Stone to his knees. He is a man plagued by guilt and what could have been. He isn't really living his life; he is just existing. That is until "her". Emmy Maverick comes into his life and offers a light into his darkness. She is the one woman who makes him want to live again. She accepts his demons and only wants to help drag him out of the hell he is trapped in. Neither one of the can deny the chemistry that exists between them, and it isn't long before they become "friends with benefits". Stone is up front with Emmy from the beginning and tells her that all he can offer her is sex. She accepts this, but as time goes by, she realizes that she is developing real feelings for him. As Stone emerges from the fog he has been in for months, he decides that it is time to seek revenge from those who destroyed his life. Where will this leave things for them?
Let me warn you-this is a book that will pull at your heart strings. It is a tale of heartbreak and loss as well as what it takes to find your way back to the land of the living after suffering a huge loss. It is also a story of second chances. I have loved every book in this series, and this one was no exception. Once again, Hilary Storm and Kathy Coopmans have come together to create a seamless story that flows perfectly. All I have left to say is-Bring on book four!!
"What happens to a person when they're literally brought to their knees?"
"Captain Beau Harris' entire world came crumbling down. His own guilt consumed him to the point he was confined to the tortures of his own mind and faced with the reality of his own fate."
"Until her."
I could not put this book down. The first chapter just takes a hold of you and pulls you in. I found myself getting so wrapped up, I didn't even realize I had finished the story until my kindle wouldn't turn the pages anymore. It's a very short read, but so worth it. I actually didn't get the chance to read the first two books but better believe that is on my to-do list this weekend. My heart just went out for Harris. He was home just wallowing in guilt and just wanted to be left really, but then Emmy showed up.
Stone is filled with undoubtedly alpha hotness! The characters were beautifully written. My only complaint and this is just because I have never been one to like dual POVs, but other than that Hilary and Kathy delivered an amazing story of Love, Hope, and Redemption.
5 Star Review of Stone (The Elite Forces Series, #3) by Hilary Storm and Kathy Coopmans
This is the third book in the Elite Forces series and is about Beau Harris and his rocky path back to the land of the living.
What can I say? I loved it.This series seems to get better and better.
I never saw it coming and I will say I was totally devastated. I had to re read it twice, I couldn't believe you went there. What a roller-coaster of a ride; so many emotions were evoked whilst reading Stone. I will admit that I cried, this book was heartbreaking at times; such pain and loss.
This is such a hard review to write as I do not want to give away any spoilers. I was on the edge of my seat and I read this book in almost one read. I just didn’t want to put it down; I had to know what happened!
The continuity between the authors was seamless. I have no idea who wrote which part and honestly, it doesn’t matter. It was fantastic from start to finish.
This has fast become one of my favourite series this and I am anxiously awaiting the next book in the series.
Received a copy. When two power house authors get together you need to hold on because they are going to blow you away. Hilary Storm and Kathy Coopmans gave me a story of alpha male and a woman made for him. Stone is one of those books that has something for everyone. Is it hot between the sheets? He$$ yes! Is it full of action and adventure? He$$ yes! Most of all for me these two fabulous authors gave me a journey of healing. When we love, we love with our whole being and when we heal we do the same. The thing is family is what we make of it, no matter the DNA. It is the people that we surround ourselves with on a daily basis. We must remember that people come into our lives at the right place in time. We never know who or when. Stone by Hilary Storm and Kathy Coopmans has made its way into my heart and up on my Top 10 for 2016.
Stone is book three in The Elite Forces Series. This is Beau "Stone" Harris' story. I fell in love with him in Fire and Ice and couldn't wait to get his story. Kaleb's sister Emmy is our leading lady and was easy to love and respect.
Stone is different to me than the first two books in this series. It's more of an emotional read without the edge-of-your-seat action we enjoyed in the previous ones. Jade and Kaleb play a major part and we also have appearances from the rest of the guys of the Elite team.
The ending leaves us in a happy place but I need much more and am looking forward to the next book as well as an update of Harris and Emmy. I think it might be Jackson who steals our hearts next.
I can't believe Kathy and Hilary put us through in this book. Be prepared for this story to pull at your heartstrings. I felt everything that Harris went through. I definitely didn't see this one coming. Well done ladies, yall captured my heart, mind and soul on this book.
We get to see the badass of the Elite Forces but we also get to see all that Harris has been through the last 6 months. The angel is Emma in all this. At first I was kind of pissed that things happen like they did but by the middle I was glad that Harris wasn't going to self destruct and maybe Emma could be the savor he needed.
If you haven't read the Fire, Ice then on it! Definitely one of the best series out there.

ALL'S FAIR IN LOVE AND WAR...BUT LIFE...SOMETIMES JUST ISN'T FAIR!!!,
If you have kept up with The Elite Forces series (and I hope you have, because it is a good one), you will definitely remember, we met Captain Beau Harris (aka STONE) at the beginning of Book 1, ICE, literally being caught (with his pants down) by Commander Kaleb Maverick, in a potential compromising situation with Captain Jade Elliott, with whom Commander Maverick is already in love....This turns these two alpha males into personal enemies, even though they work together and trust each other in the field and Captain Harris and Captain Elliott remain best friends (much to Kaleb's dismay)...I'm revealing this, because after Captain Harris has lived through the worst trauma anyone should ever have to endure, the woman who falls in love with him and believes she can help him heal is Emma Maverick...wait for it...Kaleb Maverick's little beloved sister....Karma? Beau loves Emma, too, but until he can come to terms with his past, his future looks bleak.....Emma is a Maverick, and, like brother Kaleb, she's determined to get what she wants....and that's Beau. This is such a good book, and, in places, it's heartbreaking and more emotional than the first two, but it is SO worth the possible tears you may shed.....I LOVED THIS BOOK!!!
This series just gets better and better. Stone is at his absolute worst physically as well as mentally. Who would have thought this could happen. While he is struggling, Fire's sister comes to the compound and Stone meets her. There is a tiny, tiny spark and they act on it. But only for the sex. Or maybe not.
The love story of Beau and Emmy. Beau has a great life, his girlfriend, Mallory is have his body and then someone kills her and their baby. Nine months later he is still grieving for her and act out. Then he meets Emmy and everything changes. Will she help him to return to live? Great story.
Oh my heart. Stone has been dealt a horrible hand. He is in the darkest place he has ever been in, will there be a light at the end of the tunnel? Heartache, depression, rage, revenge, second chances, forbidden love. This book has it all. Not to mention a surprise twist towards the end!
Right off the bar you're slapped upside the head with an emotional roller coaster ;) Wow the excitement in this series keeps you glued to the pages :) Loving every minute of this ;)
What a heart breaking and second chance at love story. My heart broke for Stone for his loss. Emmy helps him deal with his heartache. They go seeking answers and revenge. I love all the characters. On to the next book.
I love the Elite Force journey that Kathy and Hilary are taking us on. Maverick and Jade are good together, but Beau is great. I felt his anguish as I read it. And I really like how Emmy stands up for what she wants. I look forward to reading more about the Elite Force. Thanks Kathy and Hilary.
Beau Harris (Stone) had it all, the woman of his dreams and a baby on the way; life was perfect. But perfect was just an illusion because he lost it all permanently in a blink of an eye and he'd never get them back. Harris just could not see any reason to keep on living this life anymore without his soul because when Mallory went away, she took it all with her. Harris was hellbent on sleeping his life away in a drunken stupor until his last breath. What he didn't count on was Emmy Maverick. The woman just got under his skin, and to add fuel to the fire, she was Kaleb's baby sister. Will Harris get over his grief and live life, or will he wallow in his misery and lose himself? I love when Kathy Coopmans and Hillary Storm get together to write! This series...every book that they've written together has been so good. They are the perfect balance to each other when writing, much like a young and yang. I cannot wait for the next book, this series burrowed its way in my heart and I really want to know what happens with Jackson...PLEASE let the next book be about Jackson.

5 stars The team is back and you don't wanna miss it!! A definite 5 STAR read!! The Elite Series by Hilary Storm and Kathy Coopmans just keeps getting better!! I fell hard for this book!!! Stone is my new favorite of The Elite Series!! Hands down! Amazingly written and told! Something terrible happens that noone saw coming!! It will tore my heart out when I started to read Beau's (Stone) story!! I had so many damn emotions running through my chest is was wild!! My heart not only hurt for Beau, but Jade too!! I have been through what Jade goes through in this book. It is one of the hardest things I have ever went through!!! I felt closer to this book and what the characters were going through because I have been there! No I am not going to tell you!! You will just have to go one click it!!!! NOW!! I love that our team is still together and we get new people this go around!! I love Emmy whom is introduced in this book! She is a spitfire, but so tender and caring!! Review Stone Written by: Hilary Storm and Kathy Coopmans Stars: 5 freaking fantastic *****
What is better then a Hilary Storm book? What is better then a Kathy Coopmans book? Getting one written by both of them together. What more could a girl ask for!!! I love them as individual authors, but a book with both of them is like getting a hot fudge sundae with extra whip cream and extra cherries....So now that I have made everyone hungry lets get to the review of a freaking fantastic book!!!
Stone is of course written by 2 fabulous authors and its the third book in the Elite Forces Series and of course is Stone's story. This one of the 3 stories is my favorite. Just something about Stone that makes me love this one more then the other 2 (which they both were fantastic as well). We get Harris AKA Stone and Emmy (Kaleb's little sister) story. Picks up after Stone's love and unborn baby are killed right in front of him and he basically gives up. His friends and fellow Elite Force buddies do what they do best, they rally behind him and try to bring him out of his depression. Of course for 9 months he just walks around like a walking time bomb and all it takes is Emmy coming in and shaking up his world. Of course Hilary and Kathy take us on little ride to get to the happy ending. What I love about these 2 ladies is they write so well together and you can't even tell its written by 2 different people. This book just flows and keeps you glued to the pages until the very end. We get some suspense, action and most definitely some sex. Both of these writers know how to write sex and lets say its most definitely worth the read.
I will say you will need some tissues while reading this book, it does have some moments where I needed to stop and take a little break before I could continue, but it wasn't enough to make me completely stop. This book is written so well and I just loved everything about it. I look forward to reading more about the guys from Elite Forces Series (guess I should say gals too). If you love reading Hilary Storm and Kathy Coopmans separately, you will love reading them together even more. I recommend you going and buying Stone - Book Three of he Elite Forces Series on which ever book site you get your books or EReader copies from. You will love this story just as much as I did. Thanks Ladies for letting me have an ARC of Stone for a honest review. I look forward to getting more books written by you 2 ladies individually and together. Getting a book that you two have written together is just so GREAT I don't have words to describe how I feel about that, just know I love reading your books and I want more more more more. Again thanks!!!
Now that you have finished reading my review, go and one-click Stone and get to reading. Enjoy and Happy Reading...

Stone is book three in the Elite Forces Series. This series must be read in order from book 1 or you will be lost and not really get all the feels. I fell hard for this series in book 1 and let me tell you, these two authors do not disappoint in book 3! This book will pull at your heartstrings. I was like wow when I started reading it and was hooked once again from page freaking one! I could not put it down! I love a good alpha male with a strong female character.
I won’t go into details about the actual storyline…just read the blurb for that. I didn’t read the blurb. I went in blind so had no clue what I was about to read. I’m glad I didn’t know what it was going to be about but that’s just me. All I knew was that it was book 3 in this series and I HAD to read! The storyline blew my mind! I was not expecting that! I also got to catch up on Maverick and Jade (I will never get enough of those two). But this book is about Stone. Stone is Jade’s best friend. He is in both the previous books but this is his story. It’s about what happens after book 2.
Stone is book 3 in the Elite Forces series. I highly recommend reading this series from the beginning and in order. Each could be read as a standalone but there's so much character development you would miss out on, just grab them all an start at the beginning!!
I had been waiting for Captain Beau Harris' aka Stone's story. I had no clue how devastating it would be. This man has lost everything. Everything that meant anything to him, that gave him reason to live. It's all gone. Six months later he's still grieving when Emmy walks into his life. She's Kaleb's sister and has given Beau no reason to hate her other than the fact that he hates everything at the moment. He knows he shouldn't treat her badly but can't help himself. He's broken and makes no apologies until Emmy. Now he finds himself having to apologize for every other thing he says to her. But Emmy's got patience. She knows he's in hell and gives him the benefit of the doubt. She tolerates his crap and against his wishes is there by his side whenever he needs someone. Emmy's got a mind of her own regardless of what her brother may think. She knows what she's doing with Beau and understands that he's got nothing left to give, or at least he believes it. Emmy befriends him and lifts that dark curtain that he's been hiding behind, showing him that it's okay to live. Just when Beau and Emmy seem to be making progress he comes face to face with the man who took his soul. When he's done fighting his demons will there be anything left of the man Emmy knows?
Ughh I wanted to cry for Beau, the twist to his story I never saw coming is heart wrenching. The way he deals with it is as well. Emmy, poor girl, it's a good think she's patient because I think she's got a long road ahead of her with him. Hopefully there are plenty of updates on him throughout the rest of this series, I'm not sure if he's going to be the survivor I'm left hoping he is.
This story isn't really a typical HEA, it's a I'm trying to survive one day at a time kind of thing. There's no real resolution between hero and heroine and that's what makes this book different and frustrating at the same time. I've gotten too accustomed to either they lived happily ever after or they split an moved on, this is neither and it literally is driving me crazy that this is the end! Loved this series from book one, I've been a fan of both authors and was thrilled when they announced they would be co-authoring a series. I look forward to seeing what comes next in this series. 4.5 stars
Another must read from Kathy Coopmans and Hilary Storm! This series is def one of my favorite. It's not exactly like the first two books. This one was more about a man finding himself and getting the revenge for the people closest to his heart.
Beau Harris AKA Stone has had everything taken away from him in the blink of an eye. For months he's spent his days/nights in bed or drinking his pain away. The guys have tried giving him his space and time to grieve. His best friend Jayde has tried too. If anybody knows and feels what he's going thru and can relate the most it's her. But, he won't let anyone in.
Emmy Maverick got stuck coming to stay at her brother's compound until further notice. Things haven't been easy in her family. Her and her brother Kaleb are extremely close. But, things with her other brother Ty haven't. ESP when they found out what he was up to in Mexico. When she refuses to stay in the same house and her brother and Jayde he moves her in with Beau. Emmy can see the pain in his eyes and all she wants to do is help him.
These two have such an up and down thing going on. One minute it's cold Bc Beau's head is messing him up and the next they're hot. And, when I say hot OMG I mean hot. Beau had been seeing black for so long. But, when he saw Emmy the color started coming back into his life. He was battling it Bc he felt guilty for feeling the way he did for Emmy. But, in order for him to fully be able to move forward he must get revenge on the people who took everything away from him to begin with. Emmy saw his pain and would do anything to take it away. Even putting her own feelings aside to help him.
I finished this book in three sittings. It was that good. This is the 3rd book of this incredible series and I still don't know which author wrote what. This book was totally about a second chance at life, happiness and romance. My heart broke for both of them. Emmy for her family issues she had to deal with. Beau for his loss. I'm not spoiling what/who he lost ;)
I absolutely loved this story. It had all the guys from the first 2 books. We got to know a few of them a little more then before. There was definitely a few huge surprises that threw me for a huge shock. I do feel the ending was rushed. I was kinda upset about that. I wouldn't change the story or the outcome. Just feel it was a little rushed. I'm dying for the next story from this incredible series.
***ARC provided in exchange for an honest review - Naomi / Scandalous Book Blog***
I loved the 3rd book of this series another fabulous read 1 book written by 2 authors and they are that in sync with one another you would never know. Stone's story is a tearjerker and my heart hurt for him. I loved Emmy she was strong and feisty but not pushy. The pain is raw and jumps from the pages. I was hooked from beginning to end and was gutted when I had read the final words.
Stone had everything to look forward to until it is tore away from him in the most horrendous way and now he struggles to breath. All his plans and the future he had mapped out gone. How does a man come back from that. He fills his days with drink and becomes a shell of the man he once was, pushing away his best friend and his team, he struggles to see the light. Emmy has had to move to the compound with her mother at her brother Fire's request. Their last mission didnt exactly go to plan, then with the death of someone close to them he needs them close to keep them safe. When she is placed in a house with Stone she knows about the events of the past few months, however the man before her is very different to the man she has been told he once was. Angry, sad and lost are just a few ways to describe Stone, he knows he should be helping his team find the person/people responsible for his heartache but he cant go there right now.
When he finds Emmy in his home he is pissed off, but over time he sees a light. She calms him and helps him to breath. Stone starts to feel again and they soon become friends with benefits, The chemistry between this couple is electrifying and they dont hold back but Stone tells her from the very beginning that he doesn't know what the future holds, he cant see a way past his loss and guilt.
With Stone gaining strength from Emmy and the people around him he knows he must face the past and with new information coming to light he may just get the closure he needs.
Can they come out of this alive? Will Stone realise what is right in front of him? Will their next mission be a success?
Captain Beau Harris—call name Stone—is a special forces weapon of destruction. He’s one of a very special team of highly trained ops specialists. When Beau suffers an unimaginable tragedy, his best friends Jade and Kaleb try offer support and be there for him. Beau is inconsolable, and wants nothing to do with living.
Emmy is Kaleb’s sister and med school student. Due to some run ins with very dangerous enemies to Kaleb and his ops team (don’t want to give spoilers if you haven’t read Ice and Fire), she and her mother are living on Kaleb and Jade’s compound. Emmy has been hiding the little crush she has on Beau, but that’s getting harder to do the longer she’s around him.
Emmy doesn’t know the whole story about Beau, but she knows he’s hurting, and has all but given up trying to get past his grief. Beau is fine being in his funk. He knows his friends want to help him work through his feelings, but after feeling this way for several months, he just wants to be left alone. Unexpectedly, he notices Emmy. She’s beautiful, and kind---and hot! Beau feels guilty about his attraction to Emmy, but that doesn’t stop the chemistry between them. Once those sparks fly—it’s a dirty, dirty coming together for these two!
Now, back to why Beau is grieving. Forces conspire to continue their destruction, and the team must band together to keep everyone safe. There are surprises galore in this book, and once you start it, you won’t be able to put it down.
This book had me totally shocked from the beginning, and it just got better. This story of love, loss, and possible love again had me sad, happy, cracking up laughing, pissed, and excited. I don’t know how they did it, but Hilary and Kathy squeezed my heart so hard with this book. You get to see what the guys from the first two books in this series are up to.
Stone is book 3 in the Elite Forces Series, and I can’t wait for what these ladies have coming up next.
I received this ARC for an honest review, and I give it 5 stars.
I received an ARC of this book for an honest review. I first want to say that I hate not being able to give this book 5 stars because I loved Ice and Fire so much. When I realized who the couple this book was going to be about after I started it, I was shocked. I don't want to give too much away and I understand Beau has to move on in life, that wasn't my issue. I just feel like it happened too soon for him. He needed to come to terms with what happened and figure his life out before getting involved with someone else.
The book is told from Beau and Emmy's (Kaleb's sister) POV. And every time it was Beau's POV, it just showed he shouldn't have gotten involved with Emmy at all...at least not yet. It was almost hard to read his thoughts on what he was doing. Then when we get Emmy's POV, she is just fine letting him use her the way he did. Just didn't make sense to me. Sometimes he became those guys that just think with their lower extremities versus their brains. While their sex scenes were smoking hot...I just felt like I wanted to see more depth to them really getting to know one another. They were both so fickle in their own heads, going back and forth between I'll never do that again and I need to stay away from him/her, to I just can't get enough.
I also felt the vacation getaway to hunt down the persons responsible was almost too easy and quick. It almost seemed rushed and before you know it, it's over. I am enjoying this series and I can't wait to see who the next book will be about. I have some ideas based on the way this book ended. And it will also be nice to catch up with the other characters as this series continues.
