Rate this book
I'm your personal bodyguard. My job is to protect your body with my life.

Princess Daphne, heiress to the throne and terribly misunderstood, doesn’t know much about men, especially dangerous men like Matthias. How could she when she’s practically a prisoner in the palace, protected from the tragic accident that killed her older sister? When Matthias is hired as her personal bodyguard, she learns that an intense gaze from a man that sexy could set her on fire. But she has a lot more to learn – her controlling family requires she gets married immediately, and her cousin, Dion, the only other successor to the throne, has his own secret agenda. Then a scandal hits and she disappears…

Matthias is a man with a dark past and a reputation as a great lover. Pity he never finds a reason to keep the women around afterwards. When he meets Princess Daphne, he knows he shouldn’t mix business with pleasure, especially not with the heiress to the throne, but nothing can stop him from claiming the body of the woman he was hired to protect. The princess is so naïve, and he can’t help but teach her a few things about her body and life outside the palace. Then she disappears and nothing can stop him from finding her, not when he needs her so much more than he ever imagined.

I ENJOY THE BODYGUARD TROUPE, IT'S ONE OF MY GUILTY PLEASURES MAINLY BECAUSE THE SEXUAL TENSION IS SO HIGH STRUNG IT MAKES YOUR TOES CURL. That's the high I go for everytime I read a book.

This is my first Mia Carson book, and I have to say this author has caught my attention.

OUR HERO is a haunted man from his sniper days, saturated with the black guilt and disgust of having killed so many in cold-blood. So, after retiring from the military, he plays bodyguard to a Princess, off the Greek Islands. When we first meet Matthias, he's pretty much the paper cut-out love em' leave em' kind of man who can't give two shits about a woman's heart because he's too disturbed. BUT, the only difference that he still cares. So, when he meets our delectable heroine, something about her draws him in and it's not just her sexy curves and lush inky hair or piercing Caribbean blue eyes. It's the Princess herself who makes him ache to know her better, to protect her and to love her. I was quite happy that he isn't the type who repeatedly pushes the heroine away with lame excuses like 'I'm not good enough for you', although it was subtly mentioned. It would be tiring if he did. Anyways, their passion was just off the charts and I enjoyed every hot, dripping second of it word for word.

OUR HEROINE is a Princess who works hard for her people except, they only know her for being the reclusive, perhaps whacked out royalty who is not quite right after the death of her sister. Poor Daphne has been stuck within the palace walls ever since the death of her sister, which mean she was just a child then. I can't imagine how trapped she feels and only with the Matt's appearance in her life, and also from her cousin's devious plot to kill her and take over the throne, did her life started changing for the better. Daphne is not unlikable, she's determined, beautiful and bold, going for what she wants - and she wants Matt with his gorgeous body and whatever demons that haunts his waking moment.

OVERALL this was a slightly fast-paced yet just nice romance between a royal Princess and her commoner bodyguard. The chemistry was blazing, their passion was burning off the pages and their romance was just sticky sweet. I recommend this one!

The cover really got me hooked! :-)) Not my usually type of book, but thanks to the cover I gave it a try and I was NOT disappointed.

I felt sorry for Daphne most of the time. She really had shitty parents and even shittier family. Her only TRUE friends were Jeremiah and Marie, the twins who always covered her and truly cared for her. They also cover Matt and Daphne's escapades.

I like Matthias a looooooot! He's sex on legs *wiggle wiggle*. He let her push his buttons, he fell quick and hard for her and did not waste any time when they kidnapped Daphne.

It's sweet and low on drama. I love how Daphne finally snapped in the end. If I were her, I would just spit the royals in the face and run the fuck away.

This book is definitely worth a read.
