I could not enjoy this reading, though the author creates a good narrative and characters with depth. Still, the heroine is bland and passive - she does not act, at all! And the hero is moralistic to a fault.
It is a love story based on pygmalion's: love comes from gratitude to a companion that guides the young heroine to be perfectly obedient and meek, pacient and loving even to those who treat her badly (and yet, that is already her trait). True, the companion tries to make her more talkative and more sure of her own value - but she never truly acts, and that is why I cannot enjoy the book.
