About the author

1977 in Lippstadt geboren und anschließend einige Kilometer von dort in Mantinghausen aufgewachsen. Ostwestfale also.
Im Kindergarten Kastanienmännchen, in der Schule Abitur und in der Altenpflege
Zivildienst gemacht.

Ab 1998 Designstudium mit Schwerpunkt Illustration an der Fachhochschule Münster.
Diplom im Juli 2004.

Seit 2003 als freier Illustrator für verschiedene Verlage tätig.

Krowa Matylda skradła moje trzydziestoletnie serce <3

Dawno nie spotkałam takiej agentki w książce dla młodszych dzieci! Na pewno wypożyczę więcej pozycji z tej serii, bo coś mi się wydaje, że znowu uśmieję się prawie do łez!

"Krowa Matylda nie może zasnąć" to bardzo zabawna opowieść o kłopotach z zasypianiem. Kiedy nie pomaga nawet liczenie baranów, trzeba znaleźć inne rozwiązanie na walkę z bezsennością. Do czego to wszystko doprowadzi, zobaczycie sami, jeśli sięgnięcie po ten tytuł.

Ilustracje są świetne i przeurocze, Matylda to wyjątkowa bohaterka, ale także inne postaci z gospodarstwa rolnego zasługują na naszą uwagę. Genialna w swojej prostocie!

Kā izskatās, Līzelote ir komerciāli veiksmīgs projekts gan autora dzimtajā zemē, gan citās ne latviešu valodā lasošās valstīs. Veiksmes stāsts pilnīgi saprotams, jo nelielā humora gaismā iekļauts sirsnīgs saturs ar piemīlīgām ilustrācijām. Iemigt vienmēr ir vieglāk, kad jūties droši un drošības sajūtu var sniegt arī laba drauga sāns.

6 stars! I had ordered the mini edition because it costs only about a third of the regular hardcover, but after squinting very hard to get all the tiny, marvellous details - there are even more that in the two cardboard adventures meant for toddlers - I quickly decided that I needed the large original to keep and "read" over and over. I don't know who I like best. Cow Lieselotte (in the US edition she is called Millie) herself, or the hens (who are forever knitting, eating popcorn, styling their combs with hair curlers, or making shadown figures on the wall while listing to the lady farmer's good night story in the cow shed), or the pigs, ... or the timid goat and the pony, who are afraid of tigers crashing in on them after dark, or maybe the sturdy lady farmer in overalls, wellingtons and meticulously made up lips? I don't know. I love them all and would hug and lick the book - had I not wrapped it up again. Plus, the jumbled disarray of everyday things (from notes to cheese to bonsai trees) in the farmhouse reminds me a lot of the house I grew up in. Ah, nostalgia.

Mein absoluter Favorit aus der Lieselotte-Reihe. Musste laut lachen, als ich mir die Geschichte im Buchladen das erste Mal durchlas. ("Nicht schlafen können ... Das kann uns nicht passieren", dachten die Schweine und kicherten. Aber was, wenn doch? Plötzlich waren sie hellwach. Und das will was heißen - wo die Schweine in allen Büchern die Tiere sind, die am häufigsten schlafend abgebildet werden!)

Eines der besten Kinderbücher, die ich mit unseren Kindern gelesen habe. Sie haben sich allerdings das eine oder andere Mal beschwert, weil ich nicht weiterlesen konnte. Es ist einfach herrlich und lustig.

This book is absolutely great!!!! Every page is illustrated wtih humor and wit that truly compliments the text and give a much wider world-view of the universe Lieselotte lives in. Without it being complex, it is extremely elocuent as to what life for each character is like. The images give a wealth of resources not only to season the story but to stretch it far beyond just the storyline; which is just like the illustrations themselves: witty, humurous, fun. The minute I finished reading this book I wanted to read it again - and I will! :)
