Three full length Holiday stories are wrapped up for your enjoyment!
A HEAVENLY CHRISTMAS --Jennie Braxton and her two small children are traveling to Philadelphia for Christmas with her family. Car trouble lands them in a magical town called Heaven, PA. Everything about this sweet place seems too good to be true, especially Nick Ryan, a local chef with a heart as big as her own. His sensual smile tempts her from mourning the loss of her dear husband, to look into the future. Can her dreams of finding happiness again come true, or will her heart hide safely in the past?
SOMEONE TO LOVE --Allison Cornwall was forced to leave her hometown in Connecticut and live life on the run from an ex-boyfriend turned stalker. She changed her name and hunkered down in Heaven, PA. The small, idyllic town was— a safe haven where no one could find her. And yet, after a year and a half of peace, he did. Police Chief Ian Brown is determined to keep crime out of Heaven. When Ally fears for her life, he's there to protect. Recently divorced, he's not looking for love, but this innocent young woman touches his heart. Can they put their pasts behind them and open themselves to the miracle of Christmas—learning once again to trust and to love?
KISS ME SANTA --Widowed teacher, Cindy Harris, takes her son to meet Santa at the mall, but instead of jolly Saint Nick, they get grumpy Brad Williams. He’d stepped into the red suit to help out his brother, not promise the impossible, like deliver a daddy by Christmas. Brad is the new real estate agent Cindy hired to sell her family home, and sparks fly between them. Will the magic of Christmas open their hearts, and offer the best gift of all: love?
Patrice Wilton knew from the age of twelve that she wanted to write books that would take the reader to faraway places. As a voracious reader, she gobbled up books, and her imagination soared. She was born in Vancouver, Canada, and had a great need to see the world that she had read about. Patrice became a flight attendant for seventeen years and traveled the world. At the age of forty she sat down to write her first book—in longhand! Her interests include tennis, golf, and writing stories for women of all ages. She is the proud mother of two, has three lovely grand-daughters, and a wonderful man at her side. They live in West Palm Beach, Florida, where he teaches her golf, and she teaches him patience.
I've read a lot of Patrice Wilton's work and I've always enjoyed the way this author tells a story. She makes me fall in love with the characters and draws me into the plot so I'm hooked. This Christmas collection is a lovely set and I thoroughly enjoyed reading "Someone to Love" and am excited to finish the other two books.
Although these three books came as a boxed set, I believe they would be better individually. Taken together, they reveal a sameness that's distracting. By the third book you know exactly how it will proceed and there are no surprises. I found them to be full of warmth but they didn't lead me to want to read more by the author.
The first two stories are connected and the third a totally different set of characters. All three tales have things I liked but nothing really stood out that I loved.
Heavenly Christmas Awww! What a beautiful story about the loss of a loved one and the precious gift of someone new. Widowed at the age of thirty, left behind with two beautiful young daughters, Jennie needs the love of her family during the holiday season, so she packs the girls into their vehicle and travels to her parents home for Christmas to spend with her folks and her sister and her family. But life is not always simple, and even though she was close to her destination, only half an hour away, she needed to stop for fuel and a quick pit stop for the girls. As she was pulling off the road into the gas station, she swerved to miss a puppy, hitting a tree head on, only to awaken to the face and voice of one of the most gorgeous men she’s seen, but he’s a stranger. Nick was trying to catch the pup so he wouldn’t get run over, but inadvertently caused the accident, or at least that’s how he feels. Trying to calm his guilt, he offers to help the beautiful woman and her children. But it would seem that a force from beyond has a different idea with regards to these two, and some in the family are lead to believe that it’s Jennie’s deceased husband Daniel, pushing her into the arms of the gentle loner. But will Jennie be able to let her heart love another? Has it been long enough to grieve over Daniel? And will Nick be able to love her girls as if they were his own? A true love story you won’t want to miss out on. This story is well written and will bring you to tears more often than not. Well done!
Someone to Love From fear to love, Ally has ridden the emotional roller coaster for too many years and is desperate to finally get off and enjoy a normal life. On the run for the past five years or so, Ally fears for her life on a daily basis, as an ex-boyfriend turned dangerous stalker, continues to roam free, searching for her, as she continues to have to look over her shoulder. Even though a restraining order has been put in place and threats made, the police back home refused to do anything, stating that he hadn’t done anything to harm her…yet! Finally settling in Heaven, PA for almost two years now, with no sign of Jimmy, her stalker, she starts to get comfortable, loving her job and all of her new friends, so when he leaves a calling card on her doorstep, she’s not sure what to do. What she does know though, is that she’s tired of running. She loves it in Heaven. With the help of the new police chief, the hunky Ian Brown, she hopes to finally get rid of Jimmy, for good. But love tends to tread where it is most unlikely and unwanted, or so they think, as these two become closer. With a large age difference and lack of confidence in relationships, this couple are bound to travel over a few rocky roads. Will they triumph in the end? A wonderful read, and just in time for the holidays.
Kiss Me Santa How sweet is this? Cindy, a widowed single mother of a five year old boy, is struggling to find the Christmas spirit, especially when her son insists on Santa bringing him a new daddy. How do you explain to a child that young that it just doesn’t happen that way? Brad, feeling sorry for his younger brother who recently returned from active duty and is struggling to fit back into society with injuries and substance dependency, is doing his best to help him out, and if that means covering for him and being Santa for the day, then so be it. But after eight hours of sitting and listening to kids whine and cry and asking for miracles, he’s almost had enough. So, when young Tyler asks for a Daddy for Christmas, he doesn’t know what to say. Ty, frustrated and upset, pulls at his beard, almost tearing it off, becomes even more upset when he realizes he’s been taken for a ride so to speak. Smooth talking when a chance meeting at the food court, redeems him in the youngsters eyes, but will it help with the mom too? A confirmed bachelor, Brad is in for the ride of his life in the roller coaster ride called love, as he helps this young family sell their home. Cindy didn’t know just how ready she was to move on with her life until her chance meeting with Brad. But is he really the one for her? Will he give up his single man ways or will he retain the distance between them? An awesome holiday read that will bring warmth to your heart and confidence that there is always another chance at love if you’re willing to take the chance.
The first two stories are connected, and they go really fast. The third is not connected but is just as good.
The characters in all 3 are really well done and especially in the first 2 stories you really get to know the whole town. I loved the name the author gave the town as well. It was cute for these Christmas stories.
The plots are today and not historical. I've found collections like these are generally historical and was happy to find out this was not the case with these.
I would recommend these stories and I hope the author keeps up the great work.
I have read two of the three stories in this set so far.
A Heavenly Christmas and Someone to Love were amazing stories. They just make you feel the love, feel the peace, and just overall make you feel good. I really enjoyed them both, and am looking forward to reading Kiss Me Santa! I definitely recommend this set!
I enjoyed each and every book in this collection. The stories made you feel like you were a part of them. The emotions and excitement enveloped me. I like reading a Christmas-based book during the holidays and this was a good selection. In a way, these stories took me away to a place where hope lives, even if just while reading.
The last book in this collection was my least favorite, the heroine was too wishy washy with her feelings, for my taste. Her concern about money seemed contradictory too. I totally loved the first 2 stories in this collection. A few typos, but I was able to get past those. All in all I enjoyed this authors stories.
I really enjoyed the books with the exception of Thor filthy language and the detailed sex scenes. The books would have been better to leave the sex scenes to the reader’s imagination. As for the language, I was taught that only people poorly educated us foul language. The story line were great!
Loved the town of Heaven. I wish all three stories took place there. The characters were great. The third story went a little fast for my liking but was all written well. I would definitely recommend this book. It was an easy enjoyable read.
Patrice did a great with these holiday stories. I really enjoyed the stories that took place in Heaven, PA. I would love to read more stories about this town. The last story was also very good.
Three delightful Christmas romance stories. The characters in each of these novels develops within the story line and find where they futures lie. A lovely collection for the season.
This author has some cute ideas for storylines, but these stories need more development. All the characters seem sometimes to behave in uncharacteristic ways. All the novel need a good editing and/or proofreading. Wow!
Exactly what is needed for a rainy winter day. Light, fun, and easy. Apparently I have to put eight more words but what I said first is pretty much it.
Three very sweet holiday treats! Each one filled with dark and light, sadness and joy. Hope with surprises for bright futures after painful life experiences.
