"An exciting thriller ... full of intrigue, sex, and even some humor."
- Bestsellersworld.com

First one real estate agent disappears in the small town of Pleasant, Arizona. Then another. When a third goes missing, private investigator Eli Quinn finds himself in the middle of a scandal involving sex, money, and murder.

Quinn, a wise-ass former reporter with relentless investigative smarts and deadly martial arts skills, gets help from his trusty sidekick, Solo, the world's greatest K-9 private eye, to sort out the sordid relationships of his suspects and hunt down the cold-blooded killer at the heart of the crime.

Can Quinn stop the homicidal maniac before he strikes again? To reach the terrifying conclusion of this deadly chase, he'll need help from his budding love interest, reporter Samantha Marcos, and his best friend Jack Beachum, the sharpest lawman in town.

"Jam-packed with thrilling fight scenes, witty banter, and well-worn characters, FIRST KILL is an excellent addition to the private detective genre with a likeable hero and a lovable sidekick." (5 Stars)

This is one of the better books I've won from Goodreads. Although this is a third book in a series it works well as a stand-alone. Robert Britt is an outstanding writer and has a knack for developing a pretty good mystery. Hopefully, he plans to continue the series.

Eli Quinn, detective
Solo, German Sheppard, Eli's protector
Samantha Marcos, reporter, Eli's girlfriend

When a popular real estate agent disappears his daughter hires Eli to investigate.
Quickly Eli learns that in his small city sex parties are taking place where partners are swapped. The missing agent and his wife are involved. Is this related to his disappearance?
Soon after intervening at one of the small sex gatherings, Eli is attacked and the action begins.

The fight scenes are intense and the 'good' characters are easy to like.

The editing and sentence structure are good.
Character development is good enough for a novella length story.
Details are okay, mostly carried over from the previous story, Drone.
The simple plot is okay and kept me interested.
The writing style is laid back but crisp.

A solid detective mystery with entertaining characters including the dog. A short read (133 pages in the version I received) which moves at a quick pace and entertaining throughout.

Great book!!!

This is my first Eli Quinn book and I truly enjoyed from start to finish. Although I started with book 3 I never felt lost or"written" down to. Quinn is a new PI after having a career as an investigative reporter. This give Quinn an added perspective as he chases down the bad guys. I received this book for free.
