Tory’s not afraid to play dirty…

He’s cocky, he’s rich, and he’s the biggest story in football… And in the bedroom.
It’s my job to get close to him.
I’ll play nice as long as it means I get the story.
I’m not trying to be another notch on Casen Reed’s bedpost.
I have bigger fish to fry. The biggest story of my life.
The owner of this football team is going down.
I’ll do whatever it takes to make that happen.
If that means ending up in Casen Reed’s bed… I’ll just have to face the peril.
And the pleasure.

Casen Reed is always up for a challenge…

She thinks she’s too smart to fall for me.
She’s wrong.
I knew at first sight I was going to make her mine.
There’s something different about this girl. She’s dangerous, delicious, and a dynamo between the sheets.
And I’ve got her right where I want her.
Addicted.
Desperate.
Begging for more.
If she wants to see what it’s like to be with a real man, I’m not afraid to indulge her.

And I wont stop until she’s screaming my name.

A Review of Play Dirty by Nikki Wild

Mystery and fun sexy times - 5 stars

This story starts out with Tory and the kind of journalist she wants to be. She is all for writing the sports story, to have a job, but she wants the bigger story as well. For her, that big story is Carter Davenport. She wrote one exposé on him that has him doing everything he can to ban her from writing about his new football team.

Casen is a once in a lifetime footballer, who has some amazing moves on and off the field. When we meet him, he is just ending his college carrer and everyone is saying he will be one of the first picks. He happens to get picked by Davenport for his new team, which means that Tory will have to cover him. She has no problem getting close to him, but she definitely doesn't want anyone to think that she is trading sexual favors for a good story, so she does everything to avoid him at first.

There are a lot of twists and turns in this book, as we go between the POVs of three characters. You get everything with this story — mob ties, danger, mystery and lots of steam!

Tory is a journalist in L.A. and her assignment is to cover the Tigers, the expansion football team, and their new star quarterback Casen Reed. While covering that aspect she also wants to explore more of the Carter Danverport, the face of the Tiger organization. Casen can't wait to rule the football field at this new level. When the two actually talk to each other during a meeting before training camp begins, then a meeting at a diner, when Casen is told not to talk to the feisty reporter, neither could imagine how intertwined the two would become. Tory loves her job as a sports reporter, but she knows there is more to Carter than meets the eye and will stop at nothing to uncover the truth. There is danger, intrigue, not to mention the attraction of the two, threats of Casen being benched and much more on the way to their happy ending. But through it all they find their way together and will brave this battle side by side. I was on the edge of my seat for this whole book and absolutely loved it. I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Play Dirty is about an up and coming quarterback (Casen) fresh from college who is signed to the Tigers team now owned by a man named Carter Davenport. Carter's father used to be the previous owner of this struggling team. Tory is the sports journalist that is assigned to cover Casen's journey to becoming a Tiger. Tory and Casen are attracted to each other. Once these two hookup, will her job as journalist get in the way of her blossoming relationship? There is also some bad blood between Tory and Carter. Will Tory be able to solve this Carter puzzle before its too late? This was another great read from Nikki Wild. It had passion, drama, deceit, suspense and mystery. If you enjoy sports romance with some intrigue thrown in, then this the book for you. I can't wait to read what's next from this author. **I received a copy in exchange for an honest review**

Not your average sports romance book. Tory is a reporter who loves investigation journalism, but writes as a sports reporter. Casen is the new star quarterback who falls quickly for Tory. Casen is told by the franchise owner Carter not to associate with Tory because of what she wrote in the past about him. Tory uncovers the truth about Carter and manages to publish the story even though her life is being threatened. You will absolutely love this book.

I loved how fast pace this book went, there were no "slow" parts that disinterested me, but i feel like many things were skipped over too quickly. Casen has any woman and screws anything, but he fell in love with Tory? there were no in depth detail on why he fell for her, or vice versa, it just happened. the feeling and emotions were lost upon me and wished it was explored more. Also, there were SOOOO many grammatical errors that it drove me insane. at one point the letter I was used for the word eye. after that the too many errors just kept popping up and they were hard to ignore. but this won't deter me from reading another book by Nikki Wild.

The only thing I didn't like about this book was the fact that it wasn't full length. I grew attached to Casen and Tory and I just wanted more of them! Casen was so damn cocky but in a good way and he was also down to earth. Tory was driven and stubborn but Casen brought out her softer side. They had great chemistry and the sex was smokin'! This book had just the right amount of mystery and action. A lot of times with shorter books, I find the author rushes the ending. I didn't feel that way about this book. Everyone who did Tory and Casen dirty got exactly what they deserved and the HEA was well done.

Short and sweet, with a little bit of suspense. Not full of romance or sex, more thriller.. But good read..

This book was more mystery then romance. In fact Casen a pro football player and Tory a sports reporter did not get together until about half thru the book. Most of the story was about the corrupt owner of the football team. As always Nikki wrote some very steamy love scenes once the couple got together. If you like mystery with your romance you will like this book. I received a ARC copy from the author for my honest review

I have just finished this book and I loved it. I was pulled in to this book from the beginning which surprised me as it is a sports book and I don't usually read them. But this book is really great.
It has suspense and a HEA.
If I could give more than 5 stars I would.
I will be looking into reading more books by this author.

What a great book! I loved the heat between the two main characters but mostly I enjoyed the twisty suspense story. This is not your typical reporter follows sports star book this is so much more and so much better.

I like the story but I hated the fact that it was advertised as a 500+ page book. If you are looking for a short story this is a good one. It ended about 18% through. I read it in about 2 hours.

Abandoned/DNF. This was not what I signed up for; very little romance, it was more of a criminal investigation/reporting over the owner of the football franchise. Meh.
