Ryder Anderson loved women—short, tall, round, thin, blonde, brunette and redhead. Of course, the youngest of the three Anderson brothers couldn’t hold a candle to his oldest brother’s womanizing ways. Still, he’d had his share of relationships and then some, but he’d never known true love. Until Georgia.
Georgia Stevens moved to the quaint town of Devil’s Spur, Texas, to put some distance between herself and her younger, thinner sisters. She loved them, and they loved her, but maybe now that she was on her own, the dating gods would be kinder. Red-hot cowboy, Ryder Anderson, may seem like the answer to her unspoken prayers, but he’s a player. Will she be able to read between his lines and find true love?
Joann and Patricia are a writing team of two best friends who love to write (and read) stories about alpha males and smart, sassy, sometimes curvy, women.

A sweet story but somewhat boring. It was hard to feel connected to the characters, and everything felt rushed. Not a bad book, but not one I will ever re-read.
A heartwarming short story that will have you on a bit of an emotional roller coaster, as Georgia settles in to her new job and her new home. After constantly being in the shadow of her beautiful, and much slimmer, younger sisters, Georgia has decided it's time to make a move and "find herself", away from her family, even though she loves them all dearly. Being a bit on the curvy side, she has little self-esteem and needed to make a break from the "same old, same old" life she has settled into. Ryder is a typical playboy cowboy, having made his way through most of the single women in his small community. He loves women, of all sizes, but has absolutely no intention of settling down. That is...until his two grandfathers decide to do a bit of matchmaking with the new librarian. Unknowingly set up by the two elderly gentlemen, neither Georgia or Ryder knew what hit them! Then they touched! An awesome read complete with a bit of heartbreak, lots of sparks, and a love that will conquer all, this easy to read short will have you swooning almost from the get go. A must read!
I am extremely disappointed in this story. Starting with it being in 3rd person was bad enough but that it would switch back and forth between characters was so messy to read it was almost not worth it. It stinks because the premise was there but the delivery was crap! I loved the idea of storyline but the way in which it was delivered completely distracted from any good in it. The only reason I gave even the 2 stars was because, as I said, the premise was there. The potential is there.
Wonderful Story. I thought.it was good.to read you don't have to look like a Barbie doll to have love. It should be love with the heart and love of a person. I hope anyone who think they don't have a chance with love needs to read this book. I would recommend this book to be read by male or female.i think it would give a person a lift to go and find.love. Ir
I love cowboy romance books. They are so down to earth. This book was well written and the characters were down to earth and believable. Love the authors ability to tell a wonderful love story about a cowboy.
By the Book Bride is another wonderful book by Joann Baker and Patricia Mason. These ladies are wildly talented authors and I am so glad I’ve found their books. This was a romantic book of a cowboy with two brothers that liked to go out with all kinds of women. She was the new librarian who did not have much experience with men. His grandpa set them up to paint her new rental together and to find out what happened you need to read this book! The happy ever after was so great!
Wonderful to read it was so much happier than I thought it would probably have been. Not sure what I was thinking but wonderful job. I am looking foreword to reading your next book.
Ryder a typical male, good looks and all , and Georgia a curvy woman who wants a man to love her for what she looks like and not a stereotype if thinks in. Let the sparks fly.
I've really enjoyed this series. Taming a cowboy sounds exciting and I think I want to try it in my next life. Gramps and Pops know exactly what their grandsons need as they plot and scheme to get them married off!~
This was a sweet short insta- love hea story. I loved all of the characters in this story. I'm glad the next one is Cal's story. I'm definitely going to read it. I recommend this series.
Quick read and sweet love ❤️ Georgia is inexperienced and Ryder and his brothers are smooth talking...lovers of all women. When she moves to the small town Ryder is taken by her but is warned off by his gramps to leave her alone because she's a keeper!
Enjoyable KU read. Nothing different about this book than hundreds of others but it was a pleasant read with likeable characters though that brother Gabe needs a colonic washout. Will be reading about the other two brothers. Proofreading errors needed to be picked up.
Loved this story. The fact that even a bad boy can turn good and that the mouse librarian can be sexy, proves it just takes a good author or authors to write their story.
Yummy cowboys, meddling grandpa's all mixed together for an interesting story, add a curvy sweetheart and you have a prairie fire. Loved the family dynamics, can't wait to read about the other brothers and her two sisters.
For some reason, I read the 2nd book in the series "Calhoun", and so i already knew a little about the H/h in this first book. I loved it just as much as the first one. Can't wait for 3rd book - please come out soon!
Ryder and Georgia is a perfect love story . Of course, instant attraction , pursuit , slight misunderstanding , two nosy brothers and two nosy grandfathers . This is a recipe for Delight ! Quick grade that you will not want to put down and as usual the authors deliver on the story .
This was a good book to read. Characters were great. I liked the insta-love from the characters. I liked it when she said: Georgia reached for him, burrowing into his strong arms. “Hold me and don’t ever let go.” I only wish it was longer to read. I hope to read the next book in this series soon.
This is such a sweet tale. It's a short story but with the full effect of a longer story, by that I mean the story didn't feel rushed. It was perfect. The characters lovable and I look forward to more .
I usually enjoy the books by these authors but the instant angst and instant forgiveness is not believable. The two grandpas are the saving grace of this story. Small town overweight librarian with a man whore was a good story line but this story didn't jive.
Gramps and Pops, best characters ever! I can just picture them huddled together scheming and causing trouble! Loved Ryder and Georgie together great chemistry and a fantastic story!
This is the first thing I've read by these authors. I thought it was a sweet story about a hot cowboy and the quiet curvy girl who captures his heart. It was a little predictable and maybe a tiny but cheesy in parts, but a good read overall.
I loved this book. As most books follow the pattern of girl meets boy, falls in love, I especially love those that have cute parents or grandparents who meddle just a bit. Sweet couple and great characters.
I really enjoyed this read and I can't wait to see gabe and cal fall for the perfect woman. Mrs Baker please keep them coming will recommend this title to others..
