Tantalizing suspense meets sweet romance in this fast-paced novel that’s part of the Hawaii Billionaire Romance Series by Bestselling Authors Jennifer Youngblood and Sandra Poole.

Artist Liam Barclay has spent the past few years, living the carefree life of a bachelor, playing the field and soaking up the sun in beautiful Oahu. Until a startling heartbreak awakens him to a sobering realization—he’s in love with Maurie, his best friend and business partner. There’s only one problem—she recently got engaged.

Maurie Bradshaw has loved Liam for years, but fears he’s incapable of committing to a serious relationship. Tired of putting her life on hold and waiting for something that might never be, Maurie accepts a marriage proposal from Cooper Manning, a handsome art distributor, who’s an all-around great guy.

Tormented by the knowledge that he’s on the brink of losing the love of his life, Liam sets out to win Maurie’s heart. He becomes increasingly suspicious of Cooper, and suspects that he’s not what he’s making himself out to be. Liam does some investigating and uncovers dark secrets, which put him and Maurie at risk. As events climax to a heart-pounding frenzy, Liam must fight to protect the woman he loves, while trying to convince her that his heart is true.

Will Liam and Maurie be able to put aside the prejudices of the past, or is their love doomed to crash and disintegrate on the rocks?

Love on the Rocks is a stand-alone book, but you’ll also enjoy reading about Samantha and Finn’s story in Everything to Lose.

This was a fast paced novel, full of the suspense and sweet romance that I've come to enjoy from this mother/daughter writing team.

Liam and Maurie have been best friends for years, not to mention business partners. Both of them have feelings for the other but they of course don't want to jeopardize their relationship by stepping into the territory of dating and loving each other.

Yet unforeseen forces have gathered all around them and force them to try to outsmart and stay ahead of the one person nobody suspected of being bad, Maurie's fiancé.

Can Liam convince her that she isn't just a rebound? Can Maurie allow her heart to be hurt again when everything is pointing at Liam's unreliability in relationships?

How far will anyone go to protect and cover their biggest secrets? Everyone has something to hide and something to uncover? Who will reveal it all first and who will come out victor?

Gun chases, sandy beaches, sailing, paintings, marshmallows, broken glass, missing sunglasses, bubba gump trivia, sweet kisses, false identities, cover ups, pounding hearts, a wedding, ice cream and a movie and so much more is within this page turner.

This is a great clean read I'd recommend for anyone who needs a quick read with suspense and spice. The setting and artwork makes the story great and easy to get sucked into.

This was my own personal copy.

Happy Reading!!!

Great Romantic Suspense

Liam and Maurie are business partners and best friends. When Liam is left at the altar, he should feel devastated. Instead he feels relieved because he has realized that he's really in love with his best friend. Unfortunately, his epiphany occurs at the same time that Maurie accepts a proposal from her boyfriend, Cooper. Liam doesn't trust Cooper, and not just because he's stolen his girl.
There were several things I loved about this story: the Hawaiian setting, the art, the suspense, and Liam. I loved how Liam kept trying, even with Maurie trying to push him away. The romance was sweet, and the suspense had me on the edge of my seat.

Content: mild violence, some kissing

This was a clean romantic suspense novel. I enjoyed it, although certain aspects of the story bothered me. Some of the story felt rushed, while other parts were sweet and flowed well. I also felt that a little bit more explanation was needed for some instances. The heroine in the story bothered me with her stubborn mistrust and how she kept insisting she was right, when we as readers all know she is wrong. I guess I felt like her mistrust wasn't warranted, as she kept insisting she knew our hero inside and out, but yet wouldn't believe him when he told her things about the man she was dating.

Love on the Rocks: Hawaii Billionaire Romance is by Jennifer Youngblood, Sandra Poole, and Cami Checketts. It should be read after Everything to Lose, although it can be read as a stand-alone novel. It is a mystery set in Hawaii which makes it even more interesting.
Liam Barclay was an artist and Maurie Bradshaw was his agent. They were business partners and had been so for some time. They were also best friends. Thus, Maurie felt it within her bounds to give her opinion to Liam about his fiancé Dani Fairchild. She was against their marriage and felt Liam would only get hurt. She felt Dani was marrying him only for his money not for himself. She certainly shouldn’t be jealous or even worried as she was dating Cooper Manning, who was crazy about her. Cooper ran the art gallery in town and had purchased some of Liam’s paintings. Maurie also knew that she loved Liam and couldn’t see him marrying someone else, so she wasn’t going to the wedding the next day. Instead, she was with Cooper who proposed to her and she said yes.
Liam was ready to marry Dani although some of what Maurie said was believable. He knew that Dani was behaving a little strange lately but had put it off as wedding blues. He was surprised when she wanted to talk to him just before the wedding. He wasn’t prepared for why she wanted to talk to him.
What is there about Cooper that Liam doesn’t like? Liam just doesn’t trust him. What is Cooper up to?

Maurie and Liam

Liam is getting married, or is he? Dani is truly heartbroken, but, just can't go through with it! She tried, but, like her sister, she loves another man and can't tie herself to a man who she doesn't love! Thankfully Liam was having the same thoughts only couldn't bring himself to break her heart. Maurie is devastated! Granted she has tried to be happy for Liam, her bestfriend, but, it's hard to do so when her heart is breaking! She has even been dating Cooper and decides to go on a date with him instead of watching Liam marry another. Then Cooper asks her to marry him! What happens next? Does she say yes? What happens when she finds out Liam doesn't marry Dani? Just who is Cooper and will Liam approve of him once he finally meets him? So much happens you will have a hard time putting this one down! Jennifer Youngblood has done an amazing job of writing this story!

For a book set on Hawaii we see almost nothing of Hawaii except a beach. Mostly we see the inside of buildings as an artist paints and a woman decides to pick a new boyfriend; her choice may not be all that good, but it's her business, not that of her ex the artist. He intrudes anyway and ends up looking like a stalker. If he wasn't so sure the other guy is a crook....
I didn't come away impressed by characters or location, and I have no idea why the word billionaire is in the title. The author should learn to avoid 'it was ' and 'there was'. Some readers may enjoy this more.

This is an unbiased review.

A quick read with mysteries to be solved along with lots of crime, criminals and deaths. Some are just not whom they seem. Twists and turns to the story but very predictable. Cooper was hard to like, Liam and Maurie kept hurting each other, or so it seemed. They were best friends and business partners. For a businesswoman, Maurie was very naive. Liam too much into partying and not too bright women to hook up with.

Set in Hawaii the descriptions were wonderful but not enough of them. A potential happily ever after that I was rooting for but didn't seem like it would be where the story led. First book in the series. I might give one or two a try.

She’s engaged to a villain (Cooper) but absolutely adores her best friend and business partner… After being abandoned at his wedding altar, Liam realises that it’s really a blessing in disguise because his heart beats only for Maurie (best friend/business partner). Liam’s goal is to expose Cooper as a criminal and thereby winning the heart of his true love, Maurie. A lot of action follows, including gun-play and murder but in the end, it all works out. Good storyline and a fast paced novel.

.

After reading the prologue and entering into the real story, I was worried to find that I had started rooting for the bad guy, however, as the story progressed I was relieved to find that my emotions sorted themselves out.

I really wanted to like it, and the storyline was unique and entertaining, I just felt that it was too...surface. Everything was well done, there just wasn’t the gripping factor I was looking for.

Good

This was a good story with lots of suspense. It sure made it hard to put down. Makes me wonder though how some people process things so differently. Maurie is a woman that over thinks everything. She can see others wrong doings but not in her own relationship. Liam not to sure about him, he just seemed kind of dense. In love with his partner but could still marry another woman ugh. As for Cooper he got what was coming to him. Well still not a bad story.

a quick clean read, unsatisfying

3 star’s because is is a short read and after putting it down for a couple of hours I came back to reading it and it was like a lot of story had been left out.
Live flowers instead of fresh flowers?
Wrapped up? Not at all.
Romantic? Hardly

It’s like the three authours got confused as to who was writing what and a whole lot got left out, not satisfying at all. The whole story very brushed over and simplified

Clean Friend Romance

There was a lot of kissing, in order to realize they like each other. Maurie and Liam were pretty clueless. You would think that best friends would trust each other and know each other... The fact that she said yes bothered me. She knew she loved Liam. Blech! Hurray for mostly happy endings!

Love and Mystery

Maurie loves Liam but he is marrying Dani. Cooper has been dating Maurie and wants to marry her. What should she do. When Liam meets Cooper, he doesn't like him. Since he can't find anything about him, he hires a private eye to investigate. Well written story with strong and believable characters.

Intrigue

You don't have to figure out the bad guys but it's interesting to watch as they become apparent. The love story is sweet and you want each one to recognize their real feelings sooner rather than later but it's intriguing as they work toward the inevitable..

I thought this story was well-written. I did enjoy Liam and Maurie - they seemed to be realistic as did all of the characters (even those I didn't like much).

Suspenseful

Who is the bad guy? These two have been best friends for too long and making the leap to more might ruin what they've got... or not.

Not bad. This book had more suspense and mystery than what I've been reading of late, which was refreshing. The mystery was pretty good and the love story was decent. I liked it.

Love on the Rocks

There was a strong case of denial between Liam and Laurie regarding their feelings for each other. Murder and theft were also included.

Be careful who you trust.

A story revolved around mixed emotions between true love and infatuation. With deceit and danger the story evolves into an exciting mystery.

Enjoyed this. It dovetailed nicely with the tv show we are binge watching...the reboot of Magnum PI. I had visuals to go with the written descriptions.

I was sad at the beginning, however I saw the wisdom in the development of this love story. I'm glad I read it after the other two. It was enjoyable. Light though and fast.
