Hockey is unpredictable. Grant Mackenzie has lived and breathed the game for most of his life. It’s what he did, but it isn’t what he loved. Sometimes you don’t know what you need until you’ve almost thrown it all away. He’s about to face the hardest month of his career. He knows what he wants now, but it isn’t up to him anymore and the damage may have already been done. His secrets are unraveling, his season is over, and it’s now what happens off the ice that matters most.

Abigail Stewart masks her anger with sass, sarcasm, and a host of bad decisions. It is anger born out of years of emotional abuse. She has a new life now, but it’s a life of hiding who she is and who she used to be.

From the first time Grant and Abigail met, they knew there was something there. Now, forced to spend two weeks on an island with each other, it’s time to face their feelings, and in order to do that, they must first face their pasts.

What a cool series this is. The beauty of New Beginnings as a series is that characters of old can make all new stories. Mack and Abigail take centre stage in Confessions, and as an ex ice-hockey player myself, I appreciate all the team talk, manager one-to-ones and yes, the phoning it in that Mack does as a player. I understand it, because I did the same on occasion.

These days I am no less competitive on the football field. But Confessions focuses squarely on the romance between our two primary leads. It's hard not to like Abigail...there's something very girl-next-door about her whilst realising how good she could be as a future wife.

Mack is reckless, restless and annoying at times. But this is not annoying for the reader - he's a real guy doing real things in a believable way.

A short read that is jam packed with drama, but it is never over the top. I have read all of the author's books and this latest release stands amongst her best, and is certainly a power play in the genre!

'Confessions' by Michelle Lynn is a short story that captures the relationship between Grant and Abigail. As the story progresses, readers learn more about how they once knew each other. This leads them on a path of discovering who they are apart so they can determine if they will work together. The give and take between them was well-written and believable, which lent more substance to their developing relationship.

Both Grant and Abigail have sordid backgrounds that showcase how they each have their own troubles, yet they are trying to distance themselves from them. These troubles add to their understanding of each other and help their relationship thrive, especially as the ending nears. Their friends and family members are not by any means main characters, but they serve as emotional anchors or added troubles that bring Grant and Abigail's relationship journey to fruition.

This story works as a standalone, though it includes a character from Lynn's 'Choices,' and is a companion story to 'Dreams'.

For readers who enjoy a healthy dose of romance with a bit of trouble along the way to add some realism to how things develop, 'Confessions' hits the mark.

Like all Michelle Lynn's books in the New Beginnings series, Confessions was easy to read, sweet, and well-written. The characters, who are invariably flawed (as most humans tend to be), are instantly relatable, and the way they play off each other is wonderful to read.

Grant "Mack" Mackenzie is a star hockey player with All-Star potential, but when an incident from his past threatens to come out, he must reexamine his life choices and his devil-may-care attitude. Abigail, a girl with whom he had a brief fling, is trying everything she can to distance herself from her abusive parents. When both are invited on vacation by their best friends Taylor and Josh (who are also a couple as of the last book in the series), they realize there is a chemistry between them they can't ignore - assuming they can deal with all the other crap being thrown at them.

This is a great series, full of romance and real-life heartache that you think about for a long time after you've turned the last page. I highly recommend this story, and the whole series.

This is a cute, quick read featuring Mack and Abigail, arguably the two biggest stars of Taylor and Josh's story in Dreams.
Mack has made some mistakes, and Abigail has been hiding a pretty big secret.
They're meant to stay away from each other but their chemistry is undeniable.
A great freebie that's well worth the subscription to Michelle Lynn's newsletter.
Can't wait to see what this author comes up with next.

I was excited to hear that I was going to be able to find out what happened in the feisty relationship between Mack and Abigail, and author Michelle Lynn did not disappoint.

Between Mack's confident attitude and Abigail's sass, I thoroughly enjoyed delving back into their worlds and watching them both sort out not only their personal lives but discover if there was something between the two of them more than a physical attraction.

Confessions is a short read but is written in a way that pulls you in from the beginning. I'm not usually a fan of romance but Michelle Lynn's, New Beginnings Series, has converted me.

I highly recommend you give this series a go.

I feel in love with Mack and Abagail when I read Michelle Lynn's Dreams. Their fiery relationship left me wanting more of their story. I finally got more in Confessions, and trust me, it was well worth the wait.
It's a fairly short story but filled with tons of great scenes, awesome writing, funny dialogue and feisty banter. Mack and Abagail have a great story arc with enough emotional punch to keep you enthralled. Confessions is a great addition to the New Beginnings series. I highly recommend you start this series today.

Michelle Lynn creates such amazing characters that you can't help but to fall in love with them.

I though Josh was my favorite, but then you meet Mack. Now I'm not sure which one I like more. This short story is so sweet and exactly what I was hoping for. In Dreams, you're introduced to Abigail and Grant- AKA "Mack". This short story takes you into their story and any fan of the New Beginnings series won't want to miss it. It's a sweet, quick read that will brighten your day.

After reading Choices, I was salivating for Mack and Abi's story. This book was entertaining to the end, and I felt it was a great conclusion to the series. I'll miss the world that Ms. Lynn created! I highly recommend this series to all romance readers who like "heart" to their stories.

I was saving this book for when I needed a pick me up. And it was just perfect as expected. The only flaw is that it is the last one I have.

Just the perfect sweet romance with a hint of redemption.

I received an ARC from Michelle. I voluntarily decided to leave a review. This is my honest review.
This is a book which introduces you to Grant and Abigail. It takes you through a run through of their lives and how they got to where they are today.
Both had a hard time showing their true feelings after the harsh lessons that life had thrown at them. They had been dealt some harsh hands but come through it wiser.
I love the way Michelle writes. She shows how she can write through various emotions and does them all brilliantly, all of her books have one thing in common which is love and emotion and a beautiful romance.
They pull at you and drag you in page by page getting to know the characters and feeling as if you know them and share their pain and happiness. I can't put the her books down once I pick them up and I kept falling asleep reading this one only to keep waking myself up to finish it at 3 in the morning, I was determined that I would read it before going to sleep again before knowing how it had ended.
I loved everything about this book and would recommend it to anyone looking for a great romance with lots of emotions.
I can't wait to read the other books in the series knowing they'll be as good as every other book Michelle writes.
