Terminally ill bride candidate + an alien wolf in doctor's clothing = healing that lasts longer than a lifetime.
What can a Low Tier woman do when she's terminally ill? Enter an elite alien warrior training program thinking there is no way she will ever be chosen as a bride and mate. She desperately needs the stipend to take care of her mother- especially when she has agreed to die in return for money.
He refuses to watch another woman he loves die. Secret warrior Jaron came to Earth to study human medicine as a part of the Yadeshi-human treaty and exchange program. When Mila entered his office months ago, he realized she possessed the spirit of warrior and healer - and decided he would do everything to make sure she lived. Even against her will. Even if it means bonding her as his mate ... without her full knowledge. He's determined that when she finds out what he has done, she won't reject him.
But Mila is hiding secrets from Jaron. A girl has to hedge her bets and even though he told her to stay away from the research facility hosting a sinister clinical trial ... well ... they pay. And the more money she can squirrel away for her mother once Mila dies, the better.
Except now they want to know why Mila is miraculously healing from a terminal illness ... they want to study the strange things happening to her DNA. They are willing to kidnap her to enforce her cooperation.
This is a steamy hot, science fiction romance for readers who love strong willed heroines and alpha male alien warriors. Perfect for your lunch break read. Standalone, HEA.
Emma is a Black/white Muslim American mom of five, ages 6-22, in her mid-forties just trying to live her best life…which usually includes coffee, wine, and an unfortunate habit of one-clicking any pretty special edition that winds up in her feed. (If you DM it, she will come.)
She likes K-pop (#army, #moa) cultivation dramas (Till the End of the Moon,) precioussss silence, and collects more makeup than she uses.
She bends knee to Michelle Sagara West, Anne Bishop, N.K. Jemisin, Grace Draven, J.D. Robb, and Nalini Singh—a nod to Sanderson, Goodkind, Eddings, McCaffrey, and McKinley.
If you are looking for romantic epic fantasy set in complex, diverse, sex positive worlds with morally gray societies, powerful anti-heroes with THAD energy, multi-racial heroines at least 35—if not 350—coming into power, and a central theme of family, both dysfunctional and supportive, then you will binge her stories..
Mila is battling a terminal cancer. When she is given the chance to take part in medical trials and gain some credits she leaps at the chance. Her training at YETI is going well even though she cannot keep up with all of her class. Some of the instructors are giving her a hard time but Jaron is always there to take away the pain...sometimes literally!
Jaron maybe a warrior but he is also a healer. He has been a tad sneaky with Mila and he forges more than a doctor-patient bond with her but also sneakily allows her time to both mentally and physically draw closer to him of her own free will.
I really felt for Milas mother, her story was tragic and well delivered. Mila really was the adult in the relationship but I'm glad that her mu may also get a HEA! Jaron was a sneaky, sneaky alien and I loved him for it. Mila was way too stubborn and entrenched in her mindset to see him as anything as her healer.
I received an advance copy of this book in return for an honest review.
Book 2 brought on the intensity with fresh characters and more . . .
I found Mila to be strong, independent and highly difficult. She was a I can do kinda of girl even when her body was not willing to do. She found a friends and ally in both female, Gwen and alien, Jaron. They both provided her with the support that she needed. Her life was difficult and hard won. She has drama in her life with her mother instability both mentally and physically. Jaron found his mate. She just didn't know it yet. She would get the full effects of her mate soon enough right now it was her life that needed saving.
I got myself another good read with the second installment of Yadeshi Brides. On to the next. Again here there are issue with the dashes (-). What's up with that.
I did not like this heroine. At all. The book had, I think, a more complete plot than the first, and more time devoted to secondary characters, but I just couldn't get past my dislike for the heroine and her worthless, useless mother.
Jaron is everything Mila doesn't realize she needs
Mila's motives in joining the YETI training center are far more complex than they first appear, and Jaron is far more than one might expect, then again, it takes a special kind of person to be a healer among a warrior race.
This was another enjoyable book in the series. I liked Mila’s desire to take care of her mother, but the toxic co-dependency of that relationship frustrated me. I loved Jaron’s need to make sure that he never lost someone he cared for again, but I’m a little upset with him for the sneaky underhanded way he goes about it with Mila. I also really liked the slower burn and that we get to see the relationship between them as it develops. Though, I had a similar problem with this book as I did the first; there’s some very interesting stuff going on around the couple that I wish would have been developed further. It didn’t really answer any of the questions I had from the first book and has left me with even more now. The ending felt a bit unfinished. There are also a bunch of distracting typos in the text. However, the introduction to our next couple has left me very intrigued and I look forward to reading more about them.
I gave this Book a rating of 4 ✩’s Title: Warrior's Vow: Alien Warrior Science Fiction Romance Series: Yadeshi Brides Book 2 Genre: Romance, Alien Romance Author: Emma Alisyn and Starr Huntress Format: E-Book Published on: Sep 3, 2016
I voluntarily reviewed a Courtesy Advanced Reader Copy of this book >-< >-< >-< >-< >-<>-< >-< >-< >-< >-< >-< >-< >-< Main Character’s Descriptions: Jaron a secret warrior came to earth to study human medicine Mila is dying from cancer so she decides to enter the elite alien warrior training program. >-< >-< >-< >-< >-<>-< >-< >-< >-< >-< >-< >-< >-< What I liked/Didn’t Like: Loved the alien human romance. Even though she was bonded to an alien against her will true love can prevail.
Mila was possible dying of cancer and had to do something to secure a life for her mother. Her entire life had been taking care of her drug addicted mother. Knowing her mother's pain and mental condition she held no grudges but a dyeing human could not provide. When she learned of the Yadeshi Bride program she knew she had to try. If she died within the program her mother would be well provided for. The one thing Mila hadn't counted on was that a young doctor of the Yadeshi would see her as his future mate and he wasn't about to let her die. Fast moving story full of action and lots of heat kept me reading it once I started. I love this series.
Jaron is a alien doctor while Mila is the Low Tier mind influencer who needs to keep her power under wraps, however she is dying from cancer. She needs money for her mom after she is gone.
But Jaron doesn't intend his mate on dying though its killing him to woo her slowly. I love the strength of the characters because of the bond between alien and human, between friends, and between parent and child. The fast paced enjoyable book is a sexy romance that easily read in one day.
I highly recommended this book and the rest of the books in series with I will buy.
This story gets deep into dysfunctional familial relationships, and the power of guilt. I loved the characters and their bitter resolve as well as for their hope for better. The story itself is well plotted, with a steady pace. There are some real jerks in this one that provided additional dramatic tension, so they served to keep the emotionalism amped up.
This is an alien romance about Mila who is very sick and Jaron who is her Yedeshi doctor currently providing her medical care while she is in training. At first, Mila doesn't realize some of the care Jaron is providing is bonding them together as mates. Add in a drug addicted mother and Mila's goal to take care of her mother financially after her death, and you get some action packed adventures. The reason I only rated the book a 3 is because of the number of typos and excessive use of hyphens.
Even though Mila is dying she wants to help her mother have a better life after she's gone. So she joins the YETI training troops where she meets Jaron her new doctor. Jaron knows there's something wrong with Mila but just cannot place his finger on it. Can he save her? Can she be the lover and wife he needs? a must read for all sci fi romance readers!
Shorter story than the first but just as good. Mila is ill but has been accepted into training with the Yadeshi Warriors. She struggles to keep the entirety of her illness from Jaron so that he doesn’t pity her. Jaron is determined to heal her by way of their mate bond. Will she accept him? Will he be able to keep her safe? Great story, fun characters.
This book was a great I loved every moment I read about Mila a human with cancer and Jaron an Yadeshi alien doctor who was determined to heal Mila. He also intended to make her his bond mate . Everything works for these two . The only thing is that this is a series and you need to continue the rest of the series to find out what happens to others mentioned in the book.
A lovely instalment to this series. Loved all the characters. If you haven't read either book in this series then you are missing out. Will definitely buy the next one!
Emma Alisyn writes a good series of books. I enjoy reading the complete series. They are hot, sexy, sexy stories. The way the characters interact with family, friends & other people who come into lives is important to the plot & stories.
This is the first one I read in this series and I was lost in the beginning. The whole plot felt forced and yet predictable. While I like the couple and the set up for the following couple, the emotional and medical conflict felt hashed together.
Book 2 of "Warriors of Yedahn" is as exciting and funfilled as Book 1. Big blue warriors who are amazed by the human women who are willing to love and fight tooth and nail for them rocks your heart and holds you enthralled from page one
This is the a cone book by this author I have read and her story line is improving in the series. Its an independent book so you don't have to read the first one to understand what's going on.
Mila was sick from cancer when she met Jaron and she slowly was getting well. Unknown to her they were bonding and curing her at the same time. It took time to be fully bonded but it was worth it. Recommend this book and series
I really enjoyed the romance but the interaction between the main character and her BFF were fun. The aliens and their culture are delightful. Enjoy the read.
Enjoyed this story a little more than the first. I like it because it is a quick read. Noticed the different cover art which is NOT better than the cover Amazon shows.
I enjoyed reading this book, it's well written and entertaining. I can't wait to read more from this author. I received this book as a Free copy to read and I voluntarily leave this review.
Thoroughly enjoyable story but too short!! This lacked the rich detail and world building of book 1 but an entertaining read nevertheless.Enjoyed the characters!!
