Billionaire Shifters Club #1

The Billionaire Shifter's Curvy Match

Rate this book
When Lilah Murphy started serving drinks at the exclusive Platinum Club, she never expected she would be on the menu.

Biotech billionaire Gavin Stanton had one taste of the new, curvy server and his craving could never be satisfied until he had her fully. Completely.

Eternally.

Fate brought them together, but a centuries-old secret could tear them apart, for the Stanton family holds a shifter legacy that no human has ever threatened.

Until now.

Gavin Stanton is the billionaire CEO of a Boston biotech firm. He’s also a werewolf, the son of a large, ancient family with roots in the British aristocracy. His work is his life. But then he feels the Beat—an irresistible urge to mate with Lilah, a beautiful human who inflames his passions like no other—and he abandons everything he thought he knew in his need to claim her.

Lilah Murphy is broke and desperate. All she wants is a job to support herself, her sister, and her ailing mother. The last thing she needs is to get involved with a rich, powerful guy who would discard her after a few hot nights together and get her fired at her new, high-paying job. But she, too, feels the Beat. She hears him in her mind, feels him in her soul, and the urge to answer the ancient call is undeniable. Is she strong enough to embrace his secrets—and her own?

The Billionaire Shifter’s Curvy Match is the first in an all-new series of hot (did we mention *hot*?) romances about the billionaire shifters and the women they’re fated to love.

35% done and DNF

I really do not like DNFing books. But I just couldn't with this book. First, Gavin is described as being British in upbringing, but how his dialogue is brought out, is like taking the historical romance, Regency english and pasting it into modern day dialogue to make it seem British. No. And all the Mr Darcy references to again point him out as being British. Hapana. Nimekataa. (No. I refuse). Then, so far, where I have left it off, I still do not get the 1001 references to football that are made and what it was meant to bring out. His hobbies perhaps? It just was not relevant where they were thrown out in the story.

Then, and I think this is what just annoyed me, all the pseudo Dom references that are made. And yet, the picture that comes out is that Gavin is an entitled Billionaire, and he's being pushed around by his brothers, his only tried and tested reaction being his fist clenching.

Then, we have Lilah, she's described basically as the debt riddled BBW, struggling to make ends meet. I understand the first scene with Smoky the dog, as basically that provides the 'chance' encounter for her and Gavin to meet, but, surely, who gets paid, when you have 1001 bills to settle, and your mum who needs financial help, sister needs tuition, then one of your 'smart' and first spending choice, is to take the dog to a grooming salon and buying coffee? When in the first scenes, she freaks out on her sister for buying groceries, and what's described in the fridge/cupboard is condiments, and food going bad? That one is just not logical.

Then, the she's hot, then cold, horny for Gavin, they do it then she goes all cold on him. He ambushes her on laundry day, takes her to a restaurant, things are going ok, then gafla bin vu, she leaves? Boss, kuwa na msimamo. (She needs to make a stand). You know there's how a female character is portrayed as playing hard to get? This just seemed she has multiple personalities.

Hints are already being thrown out, but I think Derry+Molly will be in the next book. And the book has a plot line you want to read about what happens next, but no, the delivery and contradictions just killed it for me.

So DNF. The end.

Fated

I love reading about predestined soul.
Gavin & Lilah's story was an okay read. Its just I wish the characters were more developed. I like that there was a mystery that will keep you turning the pages until the very end... Overall it was an okay read and would love to see more of Gavin & Lilah, it seems that their story isn't completely finished.

-So many tropes you can’t turn the kindle without hitting one. Between the billionaires, shifters, bbw heroine, insta-loving, slight shades of boss/assistant (though more like billionaire owner of exclusive club and waitress). Basically every trope I ever gravitate towards when I need a crackilicious read. If there were alien hockey players masquerading as rockers, it would have been game, set, and match.

-Potential for more: Never even mind all the billionaire siblings just waiting for love too. It’s all there. It’s what made me purchase this. I think this was a mixed bag of shifter fun times.

-Insta-love in the extreme. You know what there was plenty of? Sexy times. So many. Which was fun in its own way. If you’re into straight up smutty fun, this can work for you. Now, conversations and possible understanding as to why they’re so fated? Not so much.

-Creepster obstacle was standard and there’s some angst, but not alot. It’s pretty straightforward smutty shifter stuff.

-Some kind of mystical The One thingy. I’m not exactly sure what the mythology is because frankly, it wasn’t on the page. Worldbuilding was pretty slim and it’s a shame because I think the One mythology had potential, if it was ever explored.

description
The Bottom Line
It was alright. I like the siblings enough that I’d read the next book, when I’m in the mood for some cracky fun. I just think there was potential for more if some more time had been spent on worldbuilding.

Beat. Beat. Beat. Him. Him. Him. Mine. Mine. Mine. Her. Her. Her. Mine. Mine. Mine. Where can I hear the beat? How can I work at the club? How far underground do I need to go? Enough of all that.

Lilah was looking for a change in circumstance and just make improvements in her situation. She never expected that a minor accident would bring her world to a big change. She did not expect to make such a connection.

Gavin was in need of just getting away. He was searching for the 'One'. Not expecting to find her when he did, where he did. Then all bets were off. He found her. He wanted her. He needed her. He was told to give her up.

The first meeting was drawing. The second meeting was explosive. The third meeting was soul shattering. Lilah's life will never be the same again. Gavin had to figure things out. Their connection was deep. Their connection brought about an old tale. The final mating brings hope for the future of the shifter community.

I loved my introduction to the Billionaire Shifters Club. I loved Gavin and Lilah. I could not put down my read. I kept tapping the pad to move on to the next page. I enjoyed meeting Derry, Edward, and Sophia. Asher not so much. I think he will need a little time to grow on me. Jess was the perfect sister for Lilah.

4.5 Mystical Stars

Lilah Murphy is having money problems. She's recently lost her temp position and has bills 2 inches thick that need payment, she lives in a small single with her younger sister, Jess, who is working her way through pre-med to become a doctor, her mothers could get repossessed on by the bank and shge need a hip replacement. But when Lilah's caring hearts sends her out into the streets of Boston to save the local stray from a limo, things change. For Lilah, it's pain emanating from the scar on her head.

For biotech billionaire and shifter Gavin Stanton, who has felt the pull to that street for a while, the moment he see's Lilah run out into the street, he knows she's The One. Especially because he's unable to control the shift that happens to him just from seeing and smelling her. He feels her pull every times she's around and it only seems to grow the more they are together.

The Stanton's are a family steeped in wealth and family loyalty. Though there are folk tells of magic and finding the one, no one believes in them, especially not the eldest and pack leader of the staton family, Asher. He's had a few loses in his life, which has made him a bit bitter and interested in ruling his family with a bit of an iron fist. Well mostly when it comes to Gavin and his understanding that he's four The One.

As Lilah and Gavin start to fall in love and come to terms with what's happening to them thought their mating, outside forces, including Asher, try to keep them apart.

The only person who seems to be on their side and an objective observer in all of this, is Gavin's younger half bother, Derry. Though he's a big man with a taste for drink, women, and extreme flirting, he seems to be the only one who can steer Lilah and Gavin where they belong... in each other's arms.

But it's not until Asher throws down an ultimatum that things take an unexpected turn. What is Lilah and why is she The One for Gavin?

Let me start by saying I'm a huge shifter fan. So when I was offered the opportunity to review this book. I jumped at it. I really enjoyed it. Was a quick read and I loved all the characters.

Though there were a few predictable things that happened, I would highly recommend if you love shifter books like me. It was a little different from the norm to me.

I can say I'm definitely interested in reading the book with Jessica and Derry.

5 Stantons – Gavin is #2 son – When the Beat strikes, there is nowhere to run!!

Lilah Murphy has a tall stack of bills; used to have a boring temp job at a mortgage company (emphasis on “temp”), has school loans, rent and is supporting her sister Jess with her medical schooling. Now there is the additional worry of her mother possibly losing her house. She has a college education, but may make more back at a waitressing job. Where to start?

Gavin Stanton is a part of the rich Stanton family, but to their chagrin did not take part in the family business but made his billions in Biotech. A werewolf with stellar control, he almost shifts in public when Lilah runs out to rescue the neighborhood stray dog his limo nearly strikes. He thought the Beat was a rumor. But that rumor says when you find The One, you will lose control until you have your mate. But a Stanton cannot mate a human!

Lilah receives a call inviting her to work at the Platinum Club, which she thought was a rumor as everyone denies its existence. No money changes hands as membership covers all food and drink. No tips, but the pay for one day is what she made in a week at the mortgage company. When Lilah runs into Gavin at the Club their hearts beat in rhythm – one body, one spirit, one pulse. But to sleep with a member is grounds for immediate dismissal and Gavin cannot stand to lose control, so he travels to another part of the country; for a while.

An incredible tale of rich man/poor woman, shifter/human, and the confusing, raw need that the bond between them creates. Super-hot and super sexy read. There were more than a few times I joined Lilah in her “ohgodohgod”. An amazing 5+ star read.

Asher, Gavin, Derry, Sophia and Edward make up the Stanton brood – can’t wait to get the story on each one of these siblings!!!

Having read and enjoyed several novels from Julia Kent I was excited to see she was trying her hand at paranormal romances instead of her usual romantic comedies. I was not at all disappointed. Lilah is struggling to make a living when she gets a job offer at an exclusive club, the Platinum Club. Gavin is a member of the Platinum Club and another even more exclusive club, one for shifters. Of course, Lilah has no idea there is such a thing as shifters but even so she immediately feels a deep connection with Gavin.
Even though the idea of fated mates is typical for a paranormal romance, I liked the slight twist that was offered in this story. I liked that Gavin really had no explanation for Lilah. Fortunately Gavin is one of five Stanton siblings so this will be an ongoing series. Although the next in the series looks like it features Gavin's brother Derry and Lilah's sister, Jess. Given his brother's open defiance of the pairing, I can only imagine Asher's story will be a great read!

Omg, Magical & Sexy❤

#My 1st book by Seere & I'm so excited For more!
(I'm a fan of Julia Kent's ROM-COMS & Giving Her PNR books a chance was no brainer, More than satisfied by this ;-)

I love a good shifter book & this book hit all the right marks🔥

Gavin-billionaire shifter & Lilah-Desperate for money. It started out intense, an almost accident of a small dog.
At 1st glance, they'd felt a connection. Mine.

As fate would have it, she got a job in an exclusive club where Gavin was frequent, hence the start of their romance.

Through Elevator, wine cellar & hot glances, their attraction grew.
A date cemented them.

A business escapade to Montana, his home, gave them the time of the life & LOVE.

But Secrets have a way of coming out when you least expected. His too, when his mate's threatened, all bets are off. Just instinct.

Will she accept him being wolf? She did.
But can she accept a liar? omission is a lie by secrecy after all..

I loved the start of this series! I'm so happy that every Sibling will get a book😍 Asher is an Ass though😅

P.s. I'm hot for this series & so excited for Jess & Derry's story!

4 Stars!!!!

Erotic.... Exciting..... Primal...... all words that can be used to describe this book and hopefully also this series. Moving on in a world that is ever changing but always staying the same, the legends behind their ancestry and the magic that makes them what and who they are-- Fated mates was just a myth..... Or are they? I really liked the growth of the story, that it wasn't an instantaneous "hello, we're married" kind of situation-- the story takes time for the hero and heroine to really work through the obstacles-- to what end and how things happen and play out, that is for you to see on your own! I have to say, I am very much looking forward to reading the rest of the series!!

Talk about your action packed Love Roller-coaster.

What a ride into an new and exciting world. Lilah and Gavin are so explosive it can be scary. Lilah is so willing to take care of everyone around her that she forgets to let anyone take care of her. She is sweet and fun with a heart as big as the great outdoors. Gavin is all alpha and completely floored by the instant need for Lilah. This is very entertaining read with lots of twits to keep you reading. Excited and eager to read the next book in the series, is October here yet?....

Pretty good story

This story was a pretty good start to a fated mate series. Unfortunately some parts seemed a little abrupt, but I know that was because it was needed to setup the backstory, though I felt it could've been written a little bit better.

I'm on to the next book and I'm hoping it is better written than this first book.

This is the first book I have read by this author. It has a different slant on shifters, but I really like the way the author has taken the story. The characters are rich and grab the imagination. It's an excellent book, and I look forward to reading the next book in this series.

The couple: Gavin and Lilah

Romance genre: shifter
Series: Billionaire Shifters Club
Length: 230 pages

Plot: When Gavin encounters Lilah, he knows she's The One, but he's not entirely on board. Oh, he's falling for her, no doubt, but is a mate really what he wants? Can he make himself vulnerable to her? And in the end, can he tell her he's a shifter when she's a human and knows nothing of their world?

Commentary: So, I would absolutely waitress at the place where Lilah gets a job, no doubt. That sounded fabulous. I did like that she wasn't upset because he was a shifter but was upset because he kept that from her. I hated the way he was so hot and cold and would sometimes ignore her while he was trying to get himself together. And I definitely hated his brother Asher (although I imagine he'll have a redemption book). I do have the second book in the series on my kindle, but I'm not in a rush to read it. I felt like Gavin was so wishy-washy that it didn't matter if Lilah ran away - I wasn't even sure he would notice half the time, since he was so busy running his business and being emo. In the beginning, he actually stayed away for three weeks, despite the fated mate aspect.

Next book in the series: The Billionaire Shifter's Virgin Mate

terrific beginning of a Shifter series

Ok this book is the start of a Fated Mate Shifter Romance Series. Each book is fairly standalone, but I do recommend that one starts with this volume. Each
Book has a different brother that is a Shifter and a Billionaire. Also each book has them meeting with their fated mate. Fairly Smutty and some other stuff going on too. I enjoyed this book and I am intending on reading the rest of the series soon.

Good romp.

It was... decent. I know the whole series is centered around fated mates or something. And there's enough secrets leftover to hook you into the next one. But I really am disappointed in how little the actual relationship was explored. Serious case of instalust = instalove

It took a while...

It took a while for me to warm up to the characters in the book, but once I got there I liked it. I hated Asher, Gavin's older brother. At tthe end of the book, yep, still hate him. I kind of feel like I missed a book. But I am not sure where I could have as this is supposed to be book 1 in the series. It was like I was tossed into a world and told to 'catch up'. Otherwise, this is a series that has a lot of potential. I am going to move on to book 2. After that we'll see if I continue.

Sadly, I didn't really enjoy this.

I bought it because Diane Seere is Gretchen Galway and Julia Kent. I've never read Julia Kent, but I've read everything I can find by Gretchen Galway. I didn't recognize Gretchen Galway in any of this story.

Gavin is a biotech billionaire werewolf shifter. Lilah is a college graduate, but unable to find a job within her degree and is really in debt so working temp jobs. I think she's supposed to be intelligent, but she didn't seem that way to me. She lives in a really bad neighborhood with her sister. Gavin has his driver driving his limo through her neighborhood in search of the woman he dreams about (okay....). Gavin's driver hits the neighborhood's stray dog and Lilah runs out to rescue the dog. They recognize each other instantly through the car window as each other's "One" and the crazy goes on from there.

I didn't feel like I really knew either of the characters by the end of the book. There was a bunch of family drama. There seemed to be a lot of contradiction. Derry, for one. He likes women in groups of twos and threes and can never imagine committing to just One. But he apparently sleeps with all these woman because he's looking for the One. But he could never be with just One. Uh huh...

I don't think it was ever explained how Lilah got the job at The Platinum Club. It happened, conveniently, after Gavin first met her on the street - right after she lost her most recent temp job. But, Gavin didn't seem to have anything to do with it. Eva, who runs The Platinum Club, called her out of the blue and offered her the job. Eva is a distant relative to Gavin. And then later described as the daughter to Gavin's father's business partner. I guess she's both. I don't know.

I found it all rather confusing. Too many unanswered questions. I felt kind of unsettled as I was reading from start to finish. The family is weird and antagonistic toward each other. There wasn't any romance to speak of. It's insta-love/insta-lust and crazy sex scenes that I kind of skimmed over. And the Gavin/Lilah story wrapped up very quickly at the end. Maybe some of the drawn out stuff in the middle could've been cut and the ending could've been expanded to provide a bit more explanation about the shifter world, how it works and what Lilah's place in it will now be.

It just didn't feel very cohesive to me, I guess. Maybe if I go back and re-read it, it'll make more sense, but I didn't like either character enough to bother with it.

Not a book that I could read with my whole heart.

SPOILER!

The plot was quite good and I liked the concept of love at first sight.
The words 'the one' and 'beat' were mentioned quite often, but not explained. Throughout the whole book it left me questioning what 'the one' really ment, although I already knew it was not quite a mate but more. Only at the end was a short explanation what it could mean but it still left many questions about 'the one' and the old shifter legend.

Gavin was sweet and I could understand him quite well.

Lilah was not what I hoped at all and i was greatly disappointed.
She left Gavin, right after he rescued her (in his shifterform) from being raped, only because he didn't tell her right away that he is a wolfshifter. First of all they didn't know each other for that long and secondly, I could understand his hesitation to tell her. I mean he can't just go around and tell everyone he is a shifter and usually you would freak out, be shocked, faint, or show other kinds of reactions to such a revelation. Not she apparently. She only left without talking to him or looking back.
Even when she shifted (although beeing human) she was calm, didn't freak, scream or did other things. No she just asked if he would be there and help her the next time she did.
I would have at least had a few questions. Like why i suddenly could change into an animal!!
How she could know he is the 'one' for her is another thing I don't quite understand. With him being a shifter I understand that he can recognize his 'one', but she's only human and shouldn't be able to do so easily.

This romance between them mostly consists of hot, wild sex (no mention of protection). So I wonder why she doesn't get pregnant when they have mind numbing sex every time they meet or touch?

Most of all i questioned how a place like the Platinum Club got the idea to hire a woman, who doesn't have any money (only bills to pay), connections or any other things that would make them recognice her.
Not only why they wanted her but also the timing (right after meeting Gavin, who is a member) is questioning. But according to the story Gavin hadn't had a hand in her getting hired there.

This whole story had too many unanswered questions and parts that were illogical.
I would have wished for a bit more story (not only sex and unanswered questions).

It was not horrible but not good either.
I don't know if I'm going to read the following books.

For Mature Readers. This book had me hooked from start to finish and I cannot wait to read the rest of the series. It starts with Lilah rescuing a stray dog from under a limousine in a not so nice neighborhood that she and her sister live in. While trying to rescue the dog, Lilah's scar above her eye starts hurting; she hears a voice in her head and she is drawn to the back window of the limo like a magnet. All she glimpses is a pair of blue eyes and she hears "mine" and feels the "Beat".
Gavin is the man in the back of the limo and he too feels the "Beat" and causes him to start shifting into his wolf form. All he remembers later is that he saw "the One", that she is "his" and that they shared the "Beat". Gavin's brothers don't believe in any of it and tell Gavin that she should stay away from Lilah and that he shouldn't believe in old stories.
Lilah starts working at the Platinum Club as a waitress. It is an extremely exclusive club in which Gavin is a member. Her first night of work; she and Gavin meet in the elevator and they cannot keep their hands off each other and then later in the night they have an encounter in the wine cellar. According to Gavin's older brother, that is all that their relationship can be that there is no way that Lilah can be Gavin's mate. Gavin struggles to figure out how to tell Lilah about his being a werewolf. Lilah struggles with her crazy attraction to someone she barely knows. Then you add in Gavin's other family, Lilah's family, a drunk patron, a fight and a very old book and a couple of other surprises and you will see why you cannot stop reading until the end.

A great shifter read

A new author to me. I decided to try this book when it came up as a freebie in an email and I wasn't disappointed at all. Lilah was made redundant from her job and is trying to find another. She has her younger sister sharing the apartment who is at med school. They hear the local homeless dog yelping as they realise it's been run over. As Lilah goes to the car that ran it over, scar on her head starts to hurt and a voice is in her head. From here starts an unconventional courting of Gavin, a secret shifter and moving the rhythm of The Beat, a thump thump thump of the legends when they find the one and Lilah's refusal to get involved because of her contracts with the club and her job. Will she run when she finds out what he really is? Will the romance be dead once his brother, Asher gets involved? A great read and I can't wait to read the next book

Well this was a bit different but a good story about shifters, packs and the secrets of family. Gavin Stanton comes from a long line of shifter families, and is also part of a influential and rich family which dates back to aristocracy, all of which they keep to themselves and maintain their secret, protecting themselves and shifters alike. Lilah Murphy just needs a break, she needs a job so she can help her sister, her mother and keep a roof over her head but something changes the moment she lays eyes on Gavin, she hears the beat, and knows it’s Him. Will the differences between them keep them apart or will fate get what she wants??
Loved the story, plot, characters. I found the Stanton brood a good mixture of personalities, giving way to lots of angst and also banter between the siblings. This read has plenty of sex, which was hot and also loving, so don’t expect PG rated. Overall a great read, and the snippet from book 2 will keep you wanting to continue this series.

Wolves, and bears, and cougars, oh my... Turn up the air conditioning 'cause it's hot hot hot in here! This is a fascinating start to a whole new world I badly want to read more about. There's lots of detail to keep you immersed in their world and even the secondary characters have complex personalities. I haven't seen shifters handled in quite this way before and I love it. Ancient legend meets modern science and creates an exotic marriage where anything can happen, even the perfect mating of shifter and human. The chemistry between Lilah and Gavin is explosive, the sparks fly from their very first meeting. I'm hoping this world is the start of a much larger series because I'd love to see full stories for most of the supporting cast as well. (I will eagerly devour every one of them.)

I really loved this book!!

I really enjoyed reading this book! It kept we wondering definitely all the way to the end. I was not expecting that AT ALL! I loved all the chemistry going on in the book the relationship was cute. The only thing I didn’t really like was how everything seemed rushed once she saw him shift, for instance I would have liked to know more about the situation where he mauled Mr.Webber, was he just dismissed or was there more to it. Also I wanted to know more on what Asher thought of the legend and why he didn’t believe it. I just wish it didn’t expose so much at the end to not get a answer for half of it. But it was overall it was a good book and I recommend it!
