This was a sweet conclusion to this modern marriage of convenience series by Leah Atwood. I remember Sean from the previous book in the series and enjoyed getting to read Sunny & Sean's story.
Sunny Evans inherited a bed and breakfast with stipulations. She had to marry for at least a year before it could be hers entirely, and it had to be soon. Yikes!
Sean drove up the inn's driveway in time to break up an unseemly and potentially abusive situation. As a "thank you" invitation to dinner lead them both to a solution to her predicament that may or may not be permanent.
Sweet novella (and for anyone who knows me, that's huge since I don't ordinarily care for them). It had good character detail, developing feelings toward a hard won true romance, plus conflicts that were fairly realistic.
I enjoyed both Sunny and Sean, and except for some uncomfortable jealousy and slight over-reactions I can easily say this was a satisfying read.
I liked their common values and how hey hit it off. I didn't like the crisis they had as it didn't seem to fit the flow of the story. If things were going so well and they had such common values about marriage, they should have just kept going. She thought she was setting him free, but, he had already freely made the choice to be with her, so she was just creating a problem. I like stories of convenient marriages in general, but this one didn't provide as much satisfaction.
What an interesting story! I can kind of relate to Sunny in her insecurities. I also did the on-line dating thing in my own way but never ended up with a weirdo like that, thank God. Oops, spoiler again. Sorry. This is a good book for anyone who likes romances. I always love her books because either the main characters are Christians or someone will be eventually.
I absolutely loved that Sean gets his redemption in this book. I hurt for him, though did not agree with his choices, in the second book and was so glad to see him changing and growing for the better. He makes a perfect husband for Sunny, who inherited a bed and breakfast if she can be married in time, and has a lovely depth of character that was only hinted at in the previous book. I loved their love story and family support. This one may be the best of the three.
When Sean shows up on Sunny's porch just in time to help her out of a sticky situation, he agrees to hang around awhile longer to help with her next predicament. What follows is a tale of friendship and unexpected love. Leah's Modern Conveniences series is one to savor.
Sean and Sunny met when Sean lost his way searching for his Gramp's cabin. Instant chemistry sparked between them. When Sunny explained the unusual restriction of marriage before she could inherit the BandB . What started out as a business arrangement quickly developed into a sweet love story. Very good!
Why do we find marriages of convenience so fascinating? We must, because mail order bride books and variations thereof abound. I know we all hope for happy endings, and statistics tell us that marriages for love don't always end that way.I enjoyed Lost in Love, and the biggest problem was that it was too short!
One doesn't hear a lot about marriages of convenience anymore, but the three I've read by Ms. Atwood recently seem well written with believable circumstances. I would recommend them to others. They're definitely Intertaining.
I really liked the flow of this story and the honesty of the characters. I can see things like this happening and people growing to each other. Life is not always easy but they worked together make her dream a reality.
I loved this book just as much as the others in this collection, but I gave it a 4 star because it needed more. The book become redundant and that disappointed me. Still was filled with a lot of emotion and still a very good read.
Very glad Sean got his own story. The author could have easily made him be the hero to his best friend but took the story to a different place and we got to know more about his background and abilities.
Sean is reintroduced in book #3, finding his own happily-ever-after with bed and breakfast owner Sunny. Another quick and inspirational read, ”Lost in Love” is my favorite of the series. Keeping my fingers crossed for one more. 🤞
This was another great book in the series. Held your interest all the way through with mystery, humor, intrigue and romance with some sadness mixed in to make it seem real life. You feel like you're right there with the people.
I really enjoyed this story. Short but I didn't want to put it down. Gal inherits historic B & B with a stipulation that must be met in a short period of time. Now I will need to read the other books in series. Characters were well drawn and story carried you through.
Sean is trying to get his life back on track literally and figuratively. Can Sunny help him out? Loved reading their story and seeing how things turned out.
I do believe that I haven't read one of Leah Atwood's books before. I really enjoyed the story. Loved the way the story was tied up neatly at the end. Good characters.
