"Blood surrounded me, the warmth of it coating me skin. The smell of copper filled the air,
hitting the back of my throat as i took in a deep breath, my chest heaving with the effort it took to breath."
Dark, raw, intense, suspenseful and very emotional!!! The second installment arrived at my kindle and i read it immediately without a single pause, the narration was poetic at least for me it sucked me in this dark world and believe me it wasn't easy to recover afterwards because guess what?? now i can't wait for the third installment after the huge cliffhanger.
The plot continued exactly were the first part had ended, Maggie and Killer struggle all the way to control their emotions and fix their relationship from the beginning, the secrets that has been revealed are huge, painful and even blow-minding making their every day a constant fight.
Their passion is much more intense from the first part as i was reading i could feel this raw, passionate intensity between them anticipating the moment that they are going to "burn" the pages. As always Killer was the shining star with his brutality, his captivating i'd say raw beauty and how his was expressing his jealousy (Yeah loved his possessive/caveman nature).
Maggie on the other hand was a little bit lost in this part searching for answers, actually scratch that they both want answers but Maggie is the true enigma in this situation, of course that doesn't stop her to keep fighting for Killer, her true love.
The quest continues with more suspense, secrets, twists, the characters will evolve steadily and some questions will be answered. Once again the author did a remarkable job delivering a great installment, i'm really looking forward to read the third!!!

I really don’t know how to explain this one. While interesting, there’s a lot that I couldn’t look past like I normally could. First, let me just say, this review may sound bad, but I’m in no way saying you shouldn’t give this book or this series a try. Maybe it just wasn’t the one for me. I thought I would like the series and this book more going into book two, but I was sadly let down.
From the very beginning I was confused. I actually had to stop and make sure I was reading the second book, because I thought I missed something. The book starts where book two left off, only Maggie and Killer both have no memories. I got bits and pieces of what happened, but still no actual facts of what happened while at the cabin. Now, both Maggie and Killer are at a new facility, with brand new characters. What I didn’t like about this is, there’s no back story to any of it. It’s kinda just there and I had to roll with it. And the new leader Maggie and Killer are under, Ty, is unlikeable to the characters but I really didn’t understand why that was. I think the reason why I was so disappointed with this book is the constant back and forth between Maggie and Killer. I thought things were resolved between them, but sadly, it’s as if they both took a huge step back. Then again, maybe it’s because I learned new things about Maggie and she’s going through a lot of changes. But it was very frustrating to say the least. I wanted Maggie and Killer to come together and work out their problems. All they had to do was talk to one another…
I really can’t say for sure if I’ll continue this series. While J.L. Beck has a great idea for this series, the answers I wanted from book 1 were never really answered. If anything I have more questions and I feel I won’t get them until the last book of the series. Yes, there’s some answers, but they’re not explained at all. This is a fast paced book as well, and I wish more things were explained. I give props to the author for having such a unique idea, but I wanted more out of this book.

Project: Rogue, (Project series book two)
This book is heart pounding, fast paced, and mind blowing. When I read book one Project: Killer, I was instantly hooked on this series and these characters, I knew in book one that this would be my favorite series by J.L. Beck, and after finishing this book I'm even more hooked. I loved Maggie and Killers characters, the love and connection they have is so strong. Their constant battle with and for each other; the fight between how strong their love for the other is and wanting to save the other from themselves, each other, and the company that turned them into monsters.
True to Beck, fashion you will be left on the edge edit of your seat through the whole book, you'll uncover answers, and learn more secrets you'll be dying to find the answers to.
I can't wait for the next installment in the Project series.

Maggie and Killer go thru so much in this book emotional overload in this book! Killer full of hate and jealousy and just doesn't know what to do anymore. Killer loves Maggie but tells her he never can be anything but a killer his past is his past. Maggie having dreams and getting trained by Killer and trying to remember things and the pull that they both have on each other. Dreams, drama, suspense, love, such a great book seriously can't wait to read what happens next! 5/5 must read stars I received this book for a unbiased review

This is the second book in the Project Series and they must be read in order. I loved Project: Killer and couldn’t wait to read this book. I love Maggie and Killer; they have a once in a life time love. However there are so many other things and people standing between them and their love. This book is face pasted and keeps you on the edge of your seat. Now that Maggie has found out she is also on the people in the Project she and Killer must figure out if they can have a future. Killer blames himself and Maggie is dealing with her awakening. Will they be able to find a way to be together or will secrets and memories tear them apart? There are some great twists and turns in this book. Again it leaves you on a bit of cliff hanger but not a horrible one. I am excited to read the next book in this series. J.L. Beck writes a fantastic story that completely sucks you in. The characters are great and you find yourself pulling for them, wanting to fight their enemies for them, and more. Congrats on another fantastic book J.L. Beck.

Project: Rogue starts right where Project: Killer left off. Maggie is now aware of some of her hidden memories but she still does not know everything. Killer on the other hand is having a bad time controlling his instincts and anger. He fears losing her- he might just lose his sanity if this happens. The odds are against the couple as ever as the lies and secrets pile on, making them wonder who are their real enemies and what the endgame is gonna be.
My take on Project: Rogue is that it was just the right mix of drama, suspense and romance. I really liked how Killer and Maggie just cannot keep away from each other- they were seriously hot! The buildup on the secrets and questions will keep you on the very edge of your seat, wanting to know what will happen next. I cannot wait for the next installment in this series to see how it all turns out!

Received an Arc for an honest review
After finishing Project: Killer, I was left on a major cliffhanger. There were so many unanswered questions and I had to wait for the next book to find out what happens. Well, the wait was worth it! Once entering into Rogue, I was confused but not in a bad way rather a “who is this?” Were we meeting a new character or maybe it's someone we already know? End result I never did find out who opened the book maybe one of you can help me out with that later, but the intro does answer a few questions from killer. Beyond that we see the story told from Killer’s and Maggie’s point of view. In Project: Killer, we last saw Maggie so I was happy to see Maggie opening and let me tell you the ending of chapter one will have you saying WHAT!!! Yup, I said it, I was shocked.
Past that surprising beginning we see that some time has passed since we have seen Maggie and Killer in the cabin. That’s right there is a time gap, but the intro will get you up to speed so read well and later on the guys tell you what happened – maybe…? Anyway, so now we come to Killer and guys if you think he was hot before now he is steaming, but he has kind of an issue. Killer was before Diesel and Diesel loved Maggie then a tragedy happened and Killer was born. Killer is afraid that he might lose control on the only person who can calm him – Maggie.
“I don’t want to hurt you, Maggie. You know that more than anyone. But me? I’m a killer.”
Maggie has faith between their love that he won’t hurt her. Plus, with the ending in Project: Killer, we know that Maggie is more than just human. However, Killer won’t risk it so he tries to keep his distance from her.
“You think we’re the same, Maggie. … We aren’t.”
Tensions rise between these two so what more can hurt their relationship? Yup, the lies and violence seen everyday in the brotherhood. If you don’t remember the brotherhood, then it is sort of like a colony of the projects; they eat, sleep, and fight together. You might be saying who lies and if you are, well I guess you didn’t learn your lesson in the first book… just saying.
Even with everything happening around them, Maggie has to train and adjust to the new changes she is facing. Who is her trainer? None other than Killer – you see now why he has a problem. He can’t run from her… not that he wants to let her go, but he doesn’t want to explode on her. And well we know how these two can go back and forth from Project: Killer.
“Give me a break Killer. You act like I haven’t been in here busting my ass for the last week.”
Yet with no knowledge about Maggie’s L1 data, she has no one to talk to about her changes. She need the main source and well she doesn’t have it. But don’t forget that the projects are out for revenge as well. They didn’t want this life and they want blood. With everything happening fast around them will Maggie and Killer be able to settle their differences and fell into their love or will they drift apart. You just have to find out!
I loved this book. Project: Killer was a sweet version with Diesel’s and Maggie’s story. Project: Rogue there really is no sweet it’s just Killer and Maggie. Don’t get me wrong you still have their lust and fire, but that beginners love is gone. We now have that passionate love with a twist of dark. In Rogue, you see new faces and some old ones as well. While also discovering the truth of Maggie’s past which we all wanted to know after finishing Project: Killer. I know you guys are going to love this book, and when you get to the end – I KNOW! I feel your pain, but guess what that just means there is more waiting ahead.

I received an ARC for an honest opinion and honestly - I hadn't read the first one in the series so when I got Rogue it was the push I needed to sink my claws into Killer!
I loved Killer from the get go in Book one!
There was just something so raw about him that got to me!
He was dark don't get me wrong but just the way he was desperate to retain some semblance of his former self was heartbreaking!
In Project Rogue we pick up where we left off but this time neither Maggie nor Killer have any memory of the cabin or how they came to be where they are.
From the start of this one to the end Killer and Maggie are on an emotional rollercoaster and you never know where it's going to end up!
Their relationship is strained and tense a lot of the time and it felt like there was something that whilst bound them together on a another level was also the same thing that had the power to tear them apart.
The secrets in this one are rife and I will be completely honest - you will need to concentrate to get through this one - it's deep and dark and at times I was confused with the timeline and found myself having to re-read paragraphs or sections to get back on track but once I was there it was full steam ahead again into this paranormal world of two people drawn together by something so much stronger than they could imagine!
These books are engaging and intense, strap in for a rough ride people because you will definately get one with these characters!
Project Rogue is dark and stormy and be warned my friends - there is a cliffhanger!!!!!
Be prepared!

Project: Rogue is the second book in the Project Series by author J.L. Beck. We pick up where book 1 Project: Killer finished, wondering "What will happen to Killer and Maggie?" Killer and Maggie have the type of love and connection not many can find. Even apart, one can feel the other. They are now part of the Project community and Killer has taken it upon himself to train Maggie. He wants to protect her but also teach her how to defend herself. However, he also doesn't want her to change, lose herself, the Maggie he fell for so many years ago. Maggie knows she is different, the chosen one, according to the memories that are coming back to her. She wants to tell Killer what she has been remembering, but decides to keep them to herself. Killer is also keeping secrets from Maggie, afraid that if she finds out it will hurt and destroy her. Maggie and Killer are alike but oh so different. They both want each other so badly, but Killer is too afraid to give in. Maggie is determined to find the answers to her memories as her awakening evolves. As hard as Killer tries to prevent Maggie from awakening, there is no stopping it from happening. Trouble and secrets surround Maggie and Killer. Can the love they share survive the secrets and lies? Will Maggie's awakening change both her and Killer? Who is responsible for creating Killer, Maggie and the other members of the Project?

Whoa!!! Seriously love everything about this series. The covers are awesome and the writing is so deep and keeps you longing for more all the time. These are deep, dark books, but well worth the read.
I love the way that J.L. Beck keeps us engaged and on a roller coaster ride with these characters from the first book through the second one and now waiting for the third one!!
Maggie is still searching for answers from her past and looking for her father. This book leaves off right where the first one ends. I highly suggest you read the first one so that you won't be lost with this one. Maggie longs to find her father so that she can get answers to her past that are haunting her, but what Maggie doesn't realize is that what she finds out may not be what she expected or wants to hear. I am not going to give any spoilers away in this review because this book is definitely well thought out and put together and I in no way want to ruin that. J.L. Beck did an awesome job with how well thought out this series is!
Maggie and Killer are still trying to fix their relationship and I think that we get even more of Killers dark side than we did in the last book in this one. Only Maggie can relate to him and understand what Killer needs. The scenes between Maggie and Killer are super intense and leave you wondering how Maggie can relate to Killer so well. Thankfully ‘Project: Rogue’ by J.L. Beck starts off exactly where the first book in the series Project: Killer ended. This second instalment in the ‘Project’ series is intense and gripping from the get go, its an enthralling read that I give 4 stars.
Before you read this book it is imperative that you must read the first book or you will be lost as to what is going on.
Maggie and Killer are reeling from the massive secrets that have been revealed. There is so much more intensity between Maggie and Killer, they have such a strong connection. Now as part of the Killer community Maggie is learning how to defend herself and is remembering things that impact on who she is.
Killer wants Maggie, he wants to protect her, he wants her to be able to protect herself but he also wants her to be the same person he knew from years before. We get to know more of who Killer is in this book and he is struggling to control the extremely dangerous person he has been made into.
This is one of those books that is very hard to write a review for, not because I didn't enjoy it but because there is so so many things that can be spoilers for either this book or the first book if you haven't read it. You get so much more feelings for each character and you see the struggles and demos they deal with and continue to face. This was a book that gave answers but created so many more questions, you do get another cliff hanger that frustrates because of course like most I want answers now and in turn that just means that as soon as the next book comes out I will be scrambling to get my hands on it. I cant wait for book 3.

Now as part of the Killer community Maggie is learning how to defend herself and is remembering things that impact on who she is.
Killer wants Maggie, he wants to protect her, he wants her to be able to protect herself but he also wants her to be the same person he knew from years before. We get to know more of who Killer is in this book and he is struggling to control the extremely dangerous person he has been made into.
This is one of those books that is very hard to write a review for, not because I didn't enjoy it but because there is so so many things that can be spoilers for either this book or the first book if you haven't read it. You get so much more feelings for each character and you see the struggles and demos they deal with and continue to face. This was a book that gave answers but created so many more questions, you do get another cliff hanger that frustrates because of course like most I want answers now and in turn that just means that as soon as the next book comes out I will be scrambling to get my hands on it. I cant wait for book 3.

What a heart-pounding, intense, and yet at times suspenseful and very emotional read. These are words that sum up book 2 of Project Series, Rouge. Maggie and Killer; they have a once in a life time love. They should be able to celebrate their love but there are so many other things and people standing between them and their love. With the secrets on the verge of being found out and the many twists and turns taking place, Killer and Maggie’s story is one that I couldn’t put down. It was emotional, angst-y. full of secrets and boy, is there secrets. Killer and Maggie’s love is put to the test. Will they be able to find a way to be together or is the lies their love has been built on and the secrets too great and will it end up tearing them apart for good? I was so excited to read this book and because of all emotions, fantastic characters, gripping storylines and a thrilling cliffhanger. Now I cannot wait for book 3 in this series. What a great follow-up to book 1 and now in book 2, we get their love but its more of a dark and dangerous love. I cant wait to see what book 3 will hold for if its anything like book 1 & 2 , it will be amazing,

Project Rogue is a fast paced suspenseful paranormal type romance. I have mixed feelings about this book, though I don’t mean to imply that I didn’t like it. I am going to give it 3.5 tars and I’ll tell you why. I absolutely loved everything about the previous book Project Killer, and I guess I had very high hopes for how this addition would turn out. The book was good but I wanted more, for me it felt slightly rushed, I felt there was perhaps too much reiteration of the idea that Killer was no good for Maggie, Killer is almost too hard on himself when it comes to his worthiness of her. Maggie said it good when she said, “ The man I loved more than life was standing right in front of me, the mask he had firmly in place no longer covered his face. Why couldn’t he see that the person I wanted him to be was the person he was right now?” There was one really hot sex scene in the story, which I did enjoy greatly. I love Maggie’s character; she is a strong Kick ass woman who put her life on the line not only for Killer but for her father as well. I also loved the originality of the storyline, it will suck you in! The book ended on a major cliffy and I am left with so many unanswered questions. There are a lot of secrets between Maggie and Killer and I desperately want to read the next book in the series so I can find out what happens next.

Project Rogue is the 2nd book in the Project Series, and it cannot be read as a standalone.
Killer and Maggie are put through the emotional wringer in this book, and because of this, things are a lot more intense between them. Killer is in a weird type of tug a war within himself. He is trying to be the man Maggie once loved while constantly fighting to keep the beast that lives within him in it's cage. Things are just as hard for Maggie. She keeps having confusing and disturbing dreams. She is desperately trying to hang on to the flashbacks that are running through her mind because she knows they are memories trying to resurface. As the secrets pile up and questions go unanswered, you will be extremely anxious to see how everything plays out. I love Maggie and Killer. They share that once in a lifetime love that not only connects their hearts, but their souls as well. In order to hold onto their love, they are going to have to dig deep and fight for one another.
With Project Rogue, JL Beck has created a book that is sure to keep the reader engaged from beginning to end. Of course, we have another cliffhanger-yippee! Kudos to JL Beck for creating another fabulous book!

September 9, 2016AHHH! J.L. you are killing me! I have been dying for this book and I can say that the wait was worth it. J.L. has such a gift in writing her stories and giving us a book that will keep you totally engrossed into the story. The plot and the characters are ones that will keep you on the edge of your seat. Killer made choices in this book that made me want to throat punch him.
Killer is keeping thins from Maggie and it is starting to wear on him. He knows that she is going to be devastated not only with what she will find out but because he is keeping things to himself. As soon as this book hit my kindle, all thing in my world stopped!!! I had to read it ASAP. It's dark, suspenseful and so powerful!!! I devoured this book in one sitting, quite simply because I needed to know what was going to happen!! I'm officially in love with Killer!!! He's intense, but in the most amazing ways. His relationship with Maggie is ugh, nothing short of beautiful!! I really fell in love with this book!!!

Well, HELL...let me be honest, I love cliffy's and ...another cliffhanger coming at ya! SO be prepared to wait for Book 3!
Killer and Maggie are great characters. They have that ONE TRUE LOVE thing going on, and nothing about that changes is this installment. You're still sitting on the edge of your seat, waiting to see how things evolve with Killer and Maggie, if they continue to battle to and for each other.
Project: Rogue is more of an emotional read for me. While there was a lot of twisty and turning, some suspense and a some heat, it's the emotions rolling throughout the story line that truly kept me flipping pages.
Secrets and Lies threaten to dissolve their all consuming love and the void is filled with angst. If you're looking for an erotic, steamy, sexy read...you'll get a scene, I don't want you heading into this with visions of smexy running through your head. This installment is all about the emotions, not so much the act.

First of all, this is going to be kind of short, but only because if I don't keep it short and simple I'll spill all the secrets. There's so much story, and I'm so excited about it.
Secondly, Project: Rogue is NOT standalone, so you must read Project: Killer first.
Project: Rogue picks up where the first book left off.
Maggie has unlocked some long hidden memories, but there is still a great deal she doesn't know.
Killer is having a very difficult time controlling the beast they turned him into.
Maggie has questions.
Killer has fears.
They're both uncertain of the future, and what's next for them.
They're both dealing with their own demons, as well as trying to take down their enemies, and rebuild their relationship.
The odds are stacked high against them.
This book does contain a cliffhanger, but it's 100% worth.
I cannot wait for book #3.

Another great piece to the story !!

We start this part with Killer and Maggie now in the Brotherhood. Maggie is unsure of what is going on with her but her and Killer are together and connected. The problem with this piece of the journey is that they need to find certain people to get to the bottom of things. Killer is having a hard time controlling himself around Maggie and everyone else. Maggie wants all of him but he is aware of how badly things could go if he gives up control. What is the story with Ty ?? What does Killer know about Maggie ?? Who will spill the beans first AND how will Maggie react ?? This is another crazy ride. We have some flashbacks and a lot of uncertainty about things yet there is so much excitement and you just can't put it down !! It is scary yet thrilling to see Killer in action and I can't help but desire the connection he has with Maggie even when he doesn't know who she is !!

Let me start out by saying, that you must read the first book before Project Rogue, or you will be lost. That being said, I'll get down to the review business. This will be one of my rare reviews that isn't as long. This doesn't mean the story isn't good, because it's brilliant, it simply means that it's too hard for me to not give spoilers, as I'm fifty shades of jacked up! This story started out with new levels of intensity, and I didn't catch my breath until hours after I finished it. J.L. Beck's diabolically brilliant mind wrote twists and turns that made for screaming OMG moments that I'm still upset about, and although I know with everything in me that she is a cliffy queen, I still found myself dropping f-bombs at the end, so it's safe to say that she's on the list of authors trying to KILL ME DEAD! The third book can't come quickly enough, so I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Project Rogue is the second book in the (Project Series) by J.L.Beck ,and I must say I have thoroughly liked both these books. J.L.Beck has given us a engaging story, that will keep us on a roller coaster ride from the start,with some great characters that comes from the first book .This story starts right where the first one left off.Killer and Maggie still have a hot and steamy attraction to each other. This story is full of suspense,secrets,and lies. But can their love really survive everything that has happened between them? With the twists and the turns that's in this story will have you sitting on the edge of your chair from start to finish ,right throughout this whole story . This story ends on a cliffhanger ,so please wait patiently for book #3 .I could have told you more about this story ,but that would lead into giving spoilers away and I just can do that .I recommend that you read this story ,you won't be disappointed.

After reading Project Killer (book 1), I was totally hooked. I had so many questions that needed answers. I couldn't wait to get my hands on Project Rogue (Book 2) to find out what happened next, with Killer and Maggie. They've been through so much together. Their love is so strong, but something always seems to hold them back. The unknown whereabouts of the people who turned them. Not knowing what the future holds and fighting against all the odds..
Maggie has now found out she is also part of the project. Her memory has been altered and she's trying to remember what happened...
Killer is trying to train her and protect her. Even if it means protecting her from himself...
Lots of secrets are still being kept...

Omg this book is going to blow your mind.......be prepared!!! Here was me thinking book 2 couldn't be anywhere near as good as book 1, boy was I totally wrong! I was happy to be wrong.
This one just blows Project Killer wide out of the water. I devoured this read in one go, I couldn't put it down. Killer and Maggie have come a long way to get to where they are, overcoming Killer's past among other things. But somebody doesn't want them to be together and things turn dangerous very fast!! The suspense is unreal and the emotions both characters go through can be felt through the way the story is wrote, keeping you on the edge of your seat just waiting for something to happen. I absolutely loved the thrill, suspense and amazing heat with this read. I am so excited to see what the author has in store for these characters in the next "Project" read

I received this book in exchange for an honest review. I read the first installment of Project Killer, and was blown away! This second installment was just as good! At first, was getting confused on with what had prior unfolded in between book one and two, since it's been more than a year. So I pulled out my Killer copy to remind me of the ending. I love both Maggie's determination to stand up for herself, even if it means holding back details from Killer; and how Killer is determined he must at all cost protect Maggie, even if it could cost him her trust. Aaaarrgh! It's so frustrating too see them both hurting, and such a simple fix of opening to each other. Holy Moly! Another yelling ending! Then the book depression starts, because I was wide awake with that ending... but just not ready to start a new book. Thanks a lot, J.L. Beck!

I think J.L. Beck is really trying to kill me.
I mean honestly, I felt that Maggie and Killer are one of a kind characters that you just HAVE to get to know because if you don't, you are absolutely and positively missing out on one of the best books of 2016. This cannot be read as a standalone but it will grip you so fast and so hard, you don't know what has hit you.
Project: Rogue is honestly one of the twist filled books that will have your mind reeling.
WHAT'S GOING TO HAPPEN NEXT?
That's my thought because of course, there is another book coming out soon and we can't seem to catch a break with Beck because she has given us ANOTHER cliff-hanger. BRILLIANT... Hook us and leave us. I will always remember this because I absolutely cannot seem to catch up with these series.

I was captivated by this book from the first word to the last. My heart goes out to Maggie who has no idea who or what she is and she ends up in a training facility with her love Killer but the question is, will he remain that way?! Between the rage Killer feels and the humanity that is hanging by a thread for both of them I really want to know how their story ends, because you will not find out at the end of this book. Yes I actually said out loud,"WHAT THE ...?!!" So I am all in, and impatiently waiting for the next book to hopefully find out what happens to Maggie and Killer next!! If you read part one Project Killer, you will definitely want to read this, just don't expect all the answers to your questions, because you may not get them, YET...
