CONTAINS SOME SPOILERS! First half was so good, the second half left me feeling very disappointed.
I felt bad for giving this book only one star, there were other things I like about the book, but I don't think I could give it more stars just for the fact that the cannibalism was too gory and in my opinion, unnecessary.
I jumped into this book as fast as I could and was immediately sucked right in just like the others. We got to meet new characters who flowed really nicely with the story. Ros and her friends are still facing many challenges and everyday things seem to get worse. As they are traveling they hear a radio message that there is a safe place. They are weary about going there, but eventually give in, thinking that it may be their only chance. As with the other "safe places" this one ends up being just as bad as the others, if not worse.
I read a little into the part where they are in the camp, my heart racing, wondering who was going to survive. At first I thought it was going to be some sort of torture camp.
Ros is taken to a room and thinks that she will be tortured for a long time and will die right there, but it doesn't seem to be that way. This is when I stopped. It turned out that she was in some sort of camp where the two men kept humans as food. I didn't read far enough in to see if anything happened, but it was just the way she described the room and what she was implying, it got my imagination really going and that is never something I want to see playing in my head.
This was disgusting and I knew I just couldn't handle it. Cannibalism has never set well with me and I was very disappointed when I came to this part because right up until then #4 had been my favorite. I probably won't be going back to this one, it was unnecessary and I thought Kellee could have done something different. I will be reading her other books because I think she is an amazing writer and I did really enjoy her other three books.
I would probably have given this book more like a two or three star rating just because of the first half, but I won't be changing it, the cannibalism was just too much and immediately knocked it down to only one star.
She's an amazing writing and I look forward to reading her other books. I will probably be reading her other book, The Landing soon, my mom really liked it and I've always loved anything that involves aliens.

Original review: That was disgusting! I really was enjoying this book, I had loved all the other books, I'm so disappointed.
The first half of the book was awesome, the second half Ros and her friends go to this new place that is supposed to be a safe place, only to realize that the two men who live there are cannibals. That was so disgusting and I am so upset. I will not be finishing this book. Just horrible.

This series was easily the best I have ever read. I completely fell on love with the characters and continued wanting more. It is filled with lots of conpassion, love, adventure, action, hope, and survival. I read the whole series plus the smaller series in just a few days. I really had trouble putting it down. I am really looking forward to reading more by Kellee L. Greene.

I WANT A REFUND!!!

I'm done with this author and this series...I not even gonna bother finishing it. What's the point.. All..and I mean ALL the main characters die.
in every book...who does that??!!!
KELLEE GREENE you are horrible..I'm sorry but not only did u failed at making this series worth something by killing off the main characters, you also failed at having a professional editor check your spelling..despite the numerous comments your fans have posted.
Plz stop writing🙈 just stop
No wonder these books are cheap!.. Still i want a refund!!

Sad

This book in the series was a sad one. So much personal struggle going on. The nice thing to see is that Ros is finally getting stronger and becoming a true leader.

Running, always running, from HOME, dog-beasts, the resistance, and miscellaneous evil-doers. Cold, hungry, thirsty, and desperate. Will the survivors ever find a safe place?

I really enjoyed this book. Out of all of the 4 books I've read, this is one of my favourites so far.

Ros and the crew are trying to get to Michigan. They add 2 to their group, brother and sister Carter and Alice who are running from their father. They encounter some brutal stuff along the way. I know there were some reviewers who were disgusted by this, but it's the apocalypse and I'm not surprised by the extremes people will take to survive.

There is a lot of heartbreak towards the end of the book and it makes me wonder where the author will take Ros now in the 5th book, which I just started to read.

Great characters, good writing (although there were a couple of spelling mistakes, but minor) and unlike other YA novels I've been reading recently, not about the romance, it actually is so minor you don't even notice it. It was more prevalent in the first and second book but it's not so much now and maybe why I like the latter books of this series more.

Excellent

Great continuance of the previous books. I got this one yesterday and have devoured it in two sittings. Really good twists and a few shockers...I recommend this series to anyone who likes this genre of reading material.

Exciting series

Another good book. There are quite a few editing mistakes. I would definitely recommend a professional editor. This story has been my least favorite with so many sad things happening over and over again. I hope the next book has quite a bit of good that happens too, not just bad.
