Describes the success of the Frederick Douglass Academy, a public school in Harlem created to provide high quality eduation to underprivileged students
This was such an inspiring book. If anything can ever make me think, "hmmmm.... principal... I could do that...." even for a second, I'm impressed. :D
In some ways, it was really frustrating to read, since you were constantly confronted with "oh, THIS is what principals should be doing!" And it was stuff I've either thought of, or sensed but had no words for. But, there were plenty of stories of incompetence at other schools she's consulted for, so, sadly, I know I'm not alone. :P
Anyway, great ideas, good story, well-written, inspiring.
