Have you ever wanted to become someone else?

Air Math is the, at times, humorous story of a man coming to know who he is. Ed Smythe travels from his home in Chicago to a job interview in Pittsburgh. It is the worst winter weather in years. At every step along the way, ticket agents, security guards, and even the police cannot get his name right. Smith-Smythe, what's the difference he is told. According to Ed, plenty. To escape who he is and the unsolvable mathematical story-problems entrenched in his brain by his long-dead father, Ed takes on the identity of another individual. But his well-grounded wife, who sits in his head, does her best to keep Ed in the real world and to come to terms with whom he really is.
