When a tough, ice-cool cage fighter meets her match in two hot as sin dragon shifters, the sparks fly. Ice is a tough cage fighter who has spent her life closed off and mostly alone. As a child, she experienced moments where she burned others with a mere touch. These strange experiences terrified and confused her, but she knows if she keeps her emotions under control the burning doesn't happen. This iron self-control has made her a fearsome opponent in the ring.
When two sexy as sin strangers enter her life, telling her they can shed light on her mysterious 'gift', her world is turned upside down. Nathan, leader of the Scottish Dragon clan, is shocked to find Ice, a dragon female, living in the human world. Not only is she unaware of her heritage, she is also a match made in heaven for Nate and his bonded male, Dom. When Nathan calls him to the city to meet their mate, Dominic is immediately smitten.
As Ice spends time with the two males, it becomes clear they all share a mutual desire but are too scared to act on their feelings. Can their heady, lust-filled nights lead to a lasting commitment and happiness for all three?
Ice can be read as a stand alone. It is a MMF, shifter menage novel. HEA guaranteed.
This book is a re-release of a book first released as part of the Flight of Dragons boxset with added scenes and chapters**
I'm a UK based author who loves to read and write all things romance. As Skye Jones I write steamy paranormal romance that ranges from light and fun to dark and gritty.
As S.R. Jones I write darker contemporary romance and romantic suspense.
I live in Yorkshire, and get lots of inspiration from the windswept moors, the old stone buildings and the Celtic myths of this fair isle.
My dogs are my favourite people, and I'm quite fond of my husband too. I love chocolate and starbucks mochas and keep meaning to give them up for a life as a svelte fashion plate - it never happens!
I'm struggling to find something good to say about this book. I came here for sexy dragon shifters and finished reading it hoping for some well-written threesome scenes (and I would have given it 3 stars just for that) but I was sorely disappointed.
The writing was bad, and stiff. We never really experience the emotions that allegedly make them fall in love with each other. It is missing descriptions, dialogue and, for lack of a better word, life.
Like I mentioned above, even the sex scenes were badly written (and I didn't think that was even possible, until now). The whole things was just bad, not even Wattpad bad (and considering I could even follow some of the bad stories there, that's saying something) and I hope my review dissuades anyone who thinks this is a good book.
Blurb: When a tough, ice-cool cage fighter meets her match in two hot as sin dragon shifters, the sparks fly.
Ice is a female MMA fighter, but she has to be very careful about fighting and getting mad because she can burn people with her magic gifts that she isn't sure how she got. She was adopted when she was little and never knew she was a dragon shifter but is a latent, meaning she can't shift into a dragon form. So when Nathan spots her while she's fighting and then later 'smells' her and can tell just by her scent that she would be a match as a mate for he and Dom, he's not sure what to do.
Dom and Nathan end up finding her at a bar and asking her to come back to their place where they explain to her what they are and how she could be their mate. She feels excitement at finally figuring out why she has the power she has and wants to get to know her people more. So while Dom and Nathan are giving her space to get to know them better and letting her make up her own mind as to whether she wants to have a life with them, she gets to know her people and the culture better.
Dom and Nathan are bonded males and even though they now both want a relationship with each other, they haven't acted on it until they bring Ice into their lives. Things seem to be going really well until Ice is kidnapped and we find out who she really is. I liked most of this book and think this book sets up the series really well. I can't wait to read more.
Ice is an MMA fighter and I was able to easily connect with her down to earth attitude. Her story had a couple of surprising twists that made the story enjoyable. The exciting and fast chemistry with Dom and Nathan was super sexy and sweet. My only regret was not learning more about the men's backstories.
Dragon soulmate. Poly representation. Sign me in. This book was fast-paced and are more about Ice, Nathan and Dominic and their connection more than the plot. There is but at the second part more. Which is base for other books in the series. We learned about their society and a little bit about their traditions.
I have mixed feelings about the story itself with this book. Writing mechanics/writers choice wise, it does have a lot of issues for me but they don't add into my feelings on the story itself.
One on the sex scenes in story itself, the sexual scenes were not up to par for me in this book. They come on fast and with almost no rhyme or reason. I think Ice knew the two dragons all of three maybe four hours before she is in her first threesome with them. There was no romantic talk or seduction that I could really see, in fact she throws up not an hour before the act. The rest of the scenes follow along this line with maybe one or two exceptions. They also really lacked great details for me. Any sex scene in a book should be hot in some way, and for me these were not.
Now I like the idea of the three of them being destined mates and they share each other, I like sex happening fast, but there does need to be more for it to really get me. The idea is good but it's not developed well.
As for the premise of the dragon shifters, it was a good idea. The way in which history played a part in their lives and the whole dominate male learning to relax a bit was done nicely. Also the idea that males get together with other males because of a lack in females made a lot of sense.
I do not know how I feel about the way Ice's carrier played out. I would have rather her have gotten what she wanted in life too. The whole you have to chose your life you have worked hard for or us thing really fell flat.
The only other thing that was present throughout the whole story, and was probably why I have mixed feelings about it, is that everything in the book felt very rushed. The main thing this novel needs is more. More details, more info, more background, and more emotions to give it a solid feeling for me. I guess it kinda feels like this shorter book was meant to be a bigger novel that simply could not be squashed down like this.
Overall, it's not too expensive so just be aware that you are in fact getting what you paid for. I leave this in the air for my opinion on if the book should be bought or not. If you'd like an easy read without good emotion you may want to try it but if not that's up to you.
Claire better known as "Ice" in the Cage Fighting circuit lives up to her name in the ring. A very scary incident when she was just a child and then again when she was almost raped has made her this way, she could never explain to herself why she could leave a burning impression like that, thought of it as freakish and the only thing that allows her to control these feelings is meditation and the ring.
When she meets Nathaniel and Dominic she feels a very strong attraction to the 2 dominant handsome males, but is confused because she has always been so particular about having submissive men when needed in her life, to avoid her wildfire emotions to take control. Especially when they give her such an outlandish fact about themselves, but especially about herself.
Nathaniel and Dominic have been mated dragons never physical, but always searching for their female to compliment their Triad. When Nathaniel sees Fire in the ring he is fascinated by her beauty, but when he meets her face to face there is no doubt that she is what he has been searching for for centuries. Now he must convince the very independent, skittish beauty that she is one of them and not a freak and that what she feels for them is normal in their world which she never knew existed.
Will these dominant males be able to turn Fire back into Claire?
Argh, so the actual story is maybe 3 stars but this is a manage and I was expect some chemistry and hotness. When the story went a little awry, it didn't help. I suspect the mating was supposed to be something but... So, I kind of liked the characters, and liked most of the story I may have even read on if that wasn't just a little too much of a push to say no. So hmm... The story was good to Ok, the romance only OK. I actually liked the next character a lot but will not read on. The story was told in the most basic simplistic writing. Most of the time I was pushing to read on. I probably would not have finished if it weren't a BOM.
Ice is a tough cage fighter who has spent her life closed off and mostly alone. When she was a child she did find that she could burn others, being able to do this terrified her, but with training and self control she learned to manage this capability she had. When Nathan a leader of the Scottish Clan and Dominic manage to enter her life, sharing with her that they can shed light on her gift, she finds her world turned upside down. There is one small problem Ice is not aware of her heritage, she is a female dragon, and is living in a human world, but she will soon find out that she is a match made in heaven for Nate and his bonded male Dom. They will have a few things happen to them including her rescue and almost loosing Nate, but will they make it a triad, will their feelings and love overcome all, read the book it a great story and the characters are great.
Claire over time become Ice, a cage fighter and has a secret. Nathan was at the fight with David. Ice was fighting Shedder and David wants to meet Shedder. They go back in the dressing rooms and are asked to join them at a club. Nathan is bonded to Dominic. Nathan and Dominic know Ice is their fate mate but will Ice accept this. I loved this book, I couldn't put it down. It is a page turner. I highly recommend this story, it's a must read in my book. I volunteered to read this advance copy for an honest review.
Annoying with so many tropes. Feisty adopted h gave the game away, bring on next trope. The Hs are bonded mates, too shy (!) to admit to their love for each other, it's been years. The h is of course gorgeous but political correctness about the inequalities of their society, meant she had to leave. No a thoughts about acting to enlighten, or show acts of service. Nope, much easier to judge and walk away. I found the writing, plot, characters and current day agenda weak.
I downloaded Ice: Dragon Clan as a free ebook from Amazon. Not sure what I expected, but I enjoyed this storyline and the conflicts in this book. It's unfortunate that the blurb takes some of the surprise out of the plot, but it was still a good read, even if predictable and rushed in some places.
This scrapes over the line for a 3 star, like I'm being generous. That's not to say this was bad, it wasn't at all but I have some issues with it.
Firstly, I don't know about anyone else but I went into this thinking it was a smutty romance...it was not. Yes there's romance and there's a bit of smut but it's not enough in my opinion to be classed as smutty. You get maybe 3-4 sex scenes that are very rushed with no real description on how the characters are feeling. They describe it as being this explosive experience and the best sex they've ever had but we're told that not shown it. Then there's several scenes where we're told "we had sex for the past 3 days and it was amazing' ...... okay sure, why not write all about that. I guess I just wanted this to be a smutty book and it wasn't.
Secondly, the pet names annoyed the hell out of me. Dom and Nathan constantly call Ice 'sweetheart' or 'beautiful' which is fine a few times but after a while I almost wondered if they actually knew her name at all. It just comes off as kind of condescending and maybe sexist. Oof, don't get me started on the sexist stuff in this book. Females are treated like china dolls, told they don't need to work, they certainly aren't allowed to fight and while they hold all the power in the society they are still meant to be these fragile things. It's kinda gross, but luckily that gets addressed by the end and made the book more tolerable.
The romance wasn't bad honestly but I feel like I was way more interested in Dom and Nathan's romance than their shared one with Ice. Don't get me wrong I actually like Ice as a character and all three of them have chemistry, but Dom has been struggling with his sexuality for years and trying to find a way to be with Nathan and then we get these slow steps into a relationship between the two men and it's beautiful. I wanted more of that. But something I didn't super like about the romance was that it was all about Nathan, both Dom and Ice were very clearly more in love with Nathan than anything else. Nathan was the star of this show and that didn't feel really balanced to me which is what I want out of a polyamorous relationship.
There was some darker elements here with the kidnapping and torture which I thought was actually really good (apart from the villain monologue, yikes) and I appreciate that Ice was able to defend herself. Magic training was also really cool and the more dragon-y stuff, I kinda wish there was more dragon shifting though.
For such a short book I've written a huge review compared to the bigger novels I read that only get a 2-3 sentence review. This was interesting enough that I'd consider continuing in the series but it's not a high priority.

Heather's Notes This was a really good first story. I liked Nathan, Dom, and Claire (Ice). I liked the secondary characters. The bad guys were bad. It did have a few problems, like why did a mated dragon fall in love with another dragon (it is not explained in this book). Also kind of left us hanging about Claire and her dragon. I thought for sure she was going to shift when they mate, but it didn't happen. Also they talked about marking but that didn't happen either. It was like the author forgot about it. Still I liked it and I will continue the series

I gave this story a three star because the writing was subpar, the plot itself was predictable, and the intimate interactions male on male intimacy was not only shocking, but disturbing. I believe next time I should read the synopsis carefully before choosing my novels. Apparently I have a Severe and I mean turn my stomach vomit severe reaction to male on male intimacy. This story was nice in a sense of a strong, female lead who is a fighter and independent. That I did like about her however, we never got the answer as to whether or not, she is able to transform into her dragon self. I am a slow reader, and very meticulous, and never once was that mentioned. Although Ice was able to take dragon form when she traveled in the in between the spirit realm to help Nathan come back to his body we never really found out whether or not her yellow orange golden dragon was a real thing. I say the story is predictable because I somehow felt that Stephen would eventually find her sister and he would meet her. I’m not sure if I will read the next one especially if there is male on male relations going on I found myself skipping over paragraphs because I needed to avoid That subject. If that is the case in the next book, I will simply not leave a review.
Ice has turned her emotions into a cool meditative armor since the day she escaped being raped by setting her attacker on fire. She uses the strict training and meditation she learned in self defense classes to win her way through MMA battles. She keeps all her emotions at a low key so she doesn't risk harming anyone again. But no emotions means she really isn't living life. All this changes when Nathan finds himself in the city with his dragon clans financial advisor. The guy takes him to a fight and there's Ice, a female dragon who doesn't seem to know what she is. Nathan scents that she is the third mate to he and his bonded males triad. He calls Dom to come quick and meet her. Things become a little magical and scary for Ice during the next few days. This is book one of the series and is a good read, not too long and with plenty of steamy romance and adventure.
Ice is a MMA fighter and has strange powers. She keeps to herself until she meets Nathan. Nathan is a dragon shifter and head of his clan. He sees her fight and knows she the one. Dominic is also a dragon shifter but younger than Nathan. They are mates and have been waiting for their female to complete them. They take Ice back to their home and help her get used to being part dragon. She can’t shift but has some fire power. She never knew dragons existed and is shocked that she is one of them. Someone from another clan wants her dead and they’ll stop at nothing to make it happen. Nate and Dom will do anything to save her, even at the cost of their own lives. Good story. A little slow at the start but it picks up and keeps you turning the page. M/F/M, M/M, M/F. Sexy and surprises.
I really dug the beginning of this book. Ice/Claire was tough and focused, Nathan was all alpha and strong. The triad relationship worked for me too. I liked the tension between Ice and Nathan and Dominic. The worldbuilding was good, and I liked that there were shifting dragons and latent dragons that didn't change. The sex was hot and good, though I would have liked to have seen more of Dom and Nate rather than have that skipped over or shown from Ice's point of view.
Troubles came for me with the plot. It seemed as if the novel didn't know what it was building to, and so instead of an intense bullet, it was more scattershot. So, none of the end of novel situations were strong enough and the story meandered a bit, which isn't good, particularly at the end of the story.
Overall, though, I enjoyed the book, and I'd read more from the same author.
Ice is a compelling, strong, likable heroine with some secrets. Some even to herself.
And in stroll Nathan and Dom, bonded dragon shifters. Nathan is older, more experienced; Dominick is younger but also powerful; both are sexy as hell. And in their universe, dragons mate as threesomes, MFM, most of the time.
Disclaimer: I'm acquainted with the author on social media.
This tale, set in Scotland, is an intense, sensual and sexual read with all three lead characters portrayed in an interesting and compelling way, and the world-building is excellent. Really enjoyed.
Although I am now annoyed with the author because I felt compelled to get ALL the stories in this series, though this one works as a stand-alone.
Energizing and Consuming Story. Dragons are Amazing...
The story revolves around Ice, a cage fighter whose a woman, but turns out is really something a whole lot more. Two men will change everything Ice thought was normal or not so normal, lol...
Nathan, Dominic and Ice are fascinating characters!!! Nathan gave me good shivers with his powerful presense while Dominic gave me the warm cuddly feelings, together they scream 100% masculine powerhouses... Ice is one lucky woman/latent dragon with inner strength that is something else.
This book left a big ole smile on my face.
I have voluntarily read and I'm voluntarily reviewing this book. Reviewer for Nook Books and More Blog.
This made me a happy bunch of reading nerves. A latent dragon female from an extinct clan is found by one of her mates in a martial art fight competition. Funny that female dragons are protected and put in bubble wrap at all costs. Only this female doesn't know about dragons at all or her Predestined role as a cuddled queen. Lol, the expectations that had to be broken down. With a healthy splash of old grudges and crazy villains, the entertainment was great. And my heart flew out the window for a side character the moment he entered the scene. Now I have read the sneak peek at the end of book one and I am excited to be back for more dragons and drama.
I don’t read a lot of ménage, especially ones that have a good story behind them but this series is right up my alley. Each book is of a different set relationship and can be read standalone but better to read together so you can experience the full picture. I love the concept of a species that has long since thought to be extinct being found and the journey it’s going to take to find Claire’s lost siblings. I also like how their relationship forms and blooms, their attraction is instant but it takes a series of events to make them realise that there is nothing better than their lives together.
This was a thoroughly enjoyable read, a MMF (but light on the MM) menage full of lore, legend, shifter dragons, celtic stories all set in the UK, with Dragon Clans in Scotland,Wales,Ireland and Cornwall.
I read in one sitting, but wished there has been more background to Nathan as a batteled hardened warrior of centuries old, I liked the younger Dominic with his modern ways and Ice caught up in her new world. I liked the twist of the red-haired harpie and the discovery of Ice's siblings. I already have a thing for Steffan, so hope there is some serious background to his story.
Read in one sitting, finishes on a fade to black HFN.
