It was just a party. A silly little celebration with champagne and my best friends. As I blew out the candles on my divorce cake, I said goodbye to my failed marriage and embraced my future with open arms.
But I didn’t know the future was going to come in the form of a mysterious stranger sitting at the end of the bar stealing glances all night.
And I didn’t know at the time, but my future even had a name... Dante Amato.
Over the weeks that followed, he pursued me with reckless abandon. He broke down my walls and ignored all the reasons we were completely wrong for each other. He made me feel something I hadn’t felt in years... something so real it terrified me.
But the moment I let him in... just when I began to let myself fall for this dashing stranger... he dropped a bombshell that changed everything.
Sneaking in some reading time during my holidays. This was a light, sweet read about a much older heroine finding love with a younger hero after ending a disastrous marriage.
The age difference has its limit for me of course, and of course it goes for the both sides. 10 to max 15 years.
But scrolling through some best-sellers I wonder, why is it ok and acceptable for a man to be 2 decades older, but when a woman has a couple of years on a man, she is a cougar -> one of my most hated words.
Age is only a number. And shame on those, who bash couples with older female partner!
This story was ok. But the level of coincidence was ridiculous! Their exes were together -> he accidentally fell in love with a woman, who was an ex-wife of his ex-fiancé current bf. He rented a house near her ex. Really?.. Shut the front door!
The conflict toward the end added to the theatric show.
Cute epilogue though. Despite all this - likeable MCs. I wish she had more self-confidence. All these doubts about her being not enough -> woman up, woman, and believe in yourself!!!
Ok this one is slightly fucked up. Dante is slightly fucked up in the head, and screws things up a bit. Not intentionally but hurts Maren anyway by his actions. He could have not told her the truth, but the Amati brothers are big on honesty even if it means shooting them on the foot themselves Don't get him wrong, he's attracted by maren before anything and everything. He does want to pursue her. But he does google her after meeting her and finds out that their exes are together and being with her the first time he felt vindictive and the next morning he felt vindictive by pissing his ex off. Now this is a curious psychological thing. But what surprised me most was he was tortured by this and he was genuinely falling in love with her and absolutely HAD to come clean. Even when maren ran for her life he absolutely couldn't imagine not telling her. It was his honesty that made me overlook this little creepy detail and forgive him. He was a little bit of an asshole with the whole boyfriend/money situation with Nathan and Maren. But I am so proud of Maren and how she handled it. The way she later put him in place by pointing out that he is just a fuckbuddy NOT a boyfriend so NO he doesn't get to meet the kids was badass and it forced him to readdress and explain the issue clearly to her rather than sulk like before and address their relationship directly.

I liked that overall the romance between Maren (h) and Dante (H) was easy. There's a bit of angst with some push/pull at the start because Maren first encounters Dante at her divorce party with friends when her BFF encourages her to hit on Dante and gives him her #. Maren feels he's too young for her and while she's confident in herself in many ways, she's not confident why he would be attracted to her. They exchange some text messages, calls, and have a random run-in that all lead to some major attraction and physical chemistry and eventually a date. Maren's a single mom starting over after being a SAHM for years and Dante's a successful business owner. Both have support around them, but each is coming off the ending of a bad relationship and are unsure what they'd want so there is a sense of build-up to their relationship. But they also get serious about each other very quickly. Written in first person, dual POV. Some ow and om drama from each of their exes, but neither is interested in returning to those relationships. Neither is a virgin and both have been celibate since the ending of their respective relationships about a year ago each.
I loved the details of Maren being a single mom balancing her kids, her anger at co-parenting with her ex who's moved on with the woman he cheated on her with, and the possibilities of being in a new relationship, esp with someone younger than her. Dante was a wonderful guy with his clear interest in Maren, in and out of bed. He was caring, supportive, and showed her what a good man was like. And when these two got steamy, they got steamy, in messages and in person.
The side characters were entertaining from Maren's kids (the discovery of her relationship with Dante had me cracking up even while being horrified at imagining it as a mom), her BFF who was hilarious, and Dante's family with his brothers and sweetheart of a mom.
I was not a fan of the drama so spoilers:
The ending is also a lovely HEA with a jump ahead several months down the road and them committed to each other and then an epilogue 2 years later with them bringing home their daughter. Overall this was steamy, an easy read, and sweet.
4 stars! I really really enjoyed this book. It wasn’t perfect, but still really good imo.
This is an age gap romance in reverse, the hero is younger (27) and the heroine is older (35) and has 2 kids. I LOVE that the heroine is the one who’s older for a change. I also really loved the way the story went down. Although I did find some parts of this book to be a little icky, hence the 4 stars and not 5.
The heroine is at her divorce party, celebrating her divorce from her cheating husband (who was cheating on her with a younger woman ofc). Her friends try to convince her to go and hook-up with a man who has been checking her out, but she resists and goes home instead. Thankfully, her meddling best friend gave the man at the bar (the hero) her number. He messages her, and over the course of the next few weeks they text and call each other sporadically. The heroine is hesitant to allow even a sexual relationship with the hero because of their age-gap and their different life experiences. She does a lot of pushing away at this point, and the hero peruses her to an extent. This book, like book 1, has a lot of coincidences (or fate) that drive the plot forward. After very little interaction, they run into each other again, and the hero eventually convinces the heroine to give him a chance. They go out, sparks fly, and their relationship takes off from there.
HOWEVER, there is a plot twist here, it turns out that the heroine’s ex husband left her for the hero’s ex fiancée. So this is basically a partner swap situation. Which is just a little 🤢🤢 imo. Both the hero and heroine’s ex partners cheated on them with each other! To be honest, I ended up enjoying the cheating couple’s realization that their exes were now together. This book read a lot like the dream scenario for every older woman who’s husband leaves her for a younger “upgrade”. I really appreciated this story - because every scorned wife deserves to find a young, hot man to be with. It made my heart happy. LOL.
This is definitely a book I would recommend, and I don’t think you don’t need to read the other books in this series to enjoy this one.
Safe; no virgins, both celibate for one year, both cheated on by their exes (who are together), hero not a manwhore, no scenes with om/ow, no cheating between MCs, age gap with older heroine, om & ow drama caused by their exes. Heroine has two kids with her ex husband.

Recently divorced Maren Greene is surprised by a late night text from a stranger. As it turns out, her best friend gave a complete stranger her cell number. Dante is the totally hot, but too young stranger at the bar during Maren’s divorce party that she refused to approach because of their age difference. The two of them continue to text and talk. They each offer something the other has never experiences. Maren doesn’t give in to Dante’s pursuit easily and he’s sexier than any man she’s ever been with. When they eventually come together its explosive. As their relationship progresses, Maren realizes their age difference no longer matters. However, unexpected ties to former relations are revealed that threaten their current relationship.
Maren and Dante were great together! Dante is a near perfect hero. He handsome, generous, sexy, and great with kids! Every woman’s fantasy! Both the main and secondary characters were very well done. The pace was great and the story was sexy and sweet. The only thing that didn’t work for me was the conflict. It should have been bigger in my opinion.
Overall, I enjoyed this book a lot. It was a quick fun read.

I voluntarily reviewed this book in exchange for an advanced copy.
Overall I thought this book was ok. There was a lot that I liked about the book but for some reason it just didn't grab me. I enjoyed how Dante pursued Maren even after she shot him down. I also really really REALLY liked how he wasn't written as a manwhore. For some reason authors tend to write the extremely handsome, millionaire, hero as a manwhore. Its ok in some circumstances but I don't believe Maren would have come around if he was a manwhore - especially considering the cheating ex-husband. She had trouble trusting him as it was...add the manwhore aspect and she would have never given in. It was also refreshing that we didn't have to see women hanging all over him. He was a fantastic dirty talker too :-) Maren was also a good character. She was realistically written as a divorced mother of two who, for good reason, was jaded. I like how she didn't just crawl into bed with Dante because he was hot. However, I do feel that she lost some of herself and strength when they started sleeping together. The fact that he lived next door to his ex who just happens to be the woman that her ex cheated on her with should have brought up some questions for her. She should have been a little bit concerned and shouldn't have just overlooked it. Ultimately, and I can't believe I'm saying this, there should have been more conflict/angst in this story. Besides the age difference there really was no conflict/angst. The little bit that was there was quickly resolved in one chapter. Had that be there...this could have easily been a 4-5 star read.
I usually avoid books with shirtless men on the cover but I read the first book in this series and enjoyed it, so since the rest are included on Kindle Unlimited, I figured I would read it. I’m quite particular about the NA that I read because there’s just this line for me when it goes from being something that could be real to completely unrealistic. And yes, I know this is fiction but the millionaire/billionaire storyline is just getting really old. And boring. And predictable. I could easily guess what was going to happen throughout this book but as it was entertaining I did read the whole thing. It’s very rare that I DNF a book. I just felt like I’ve read this story before with different characters. I did like the main characters and I did like the focus on being s good parent, but the love story itself was just so-so. There were too many coincidences or whatever you would like to call them throughout the book.
3 stars!!! (full review to come) I enjoyed this one, older woman/younger man, light hearted and a fair few laugh out loud moments. I loved that Maren didn't fall for his charms straight away, she was jaded, newly divorced and a mother of two. I loved that Dante wasn't a manwhore and was sensitive to the delicate situation Maren was in, loved the relationship Dante had with the boys. Little to no angst, just a quick, easy read.
"But . . . Reckless love knows no reason. And I love her."
I really enjoyed this book. An Older woman celebrating her divorce and finds love with a younger Man. I loved all the characters how they were portrayed. It just wasn't long enough.
This author has a way of dragging you into the story and having you connect on a whole different level. Maybe it's the realistic main characters or the believable secondary characters either way you feel right at home when reading her books.
Maren was different then I expected her to be. I liked her, and felt that she was coming from a deep place and knew what she wanted.
Dante was amazing! He was different then Ace but at the same time he had the same mannerisms and sexyness as his brother. I loved being in his head.
This was a fun game of cat and mouse. There was very light drama and I felt that this story benefited from it. The ending was so sweet and perfect!
Overall this was another great book and I can't wait to see the next brother up to fall in love. This family is one of those family's you can't help but love. Add in the authors beautiful writing style and you have a perfect combination. 5stars #2OCCJD
DNF at 37%. I’m feeling bored. It’s so sex-forward (meaning that’s their primary motivation right now) and it’s not even that interesting there.
She says she’s been out of the working world for a long time. And she’s 35. And she said that before she had kids, she was an HR manager. And now she’s working for minimum wage. Other than her thinking bitter thoughts about her young manager, I don’t get why she wouldn’t chase after a better job.
I was given a free copy for an honest review. O.. My.... I am in love with this Italian family. 1st book was Ace (hot as f*ck) now Dante's story. One word of advise ladies, when your BFF says you need to have sexy time with a millionaire.. you need to listen to her, don't hesitate (At All!) Marin did indeed listen to her BFF and Damn if it wasn't hot and steamy.
Ok read, but not as good as Heartless, mainly because the hero is not as interesting. He is a fairly generic rich, successful, and handsome man. Thankfully, he is not controlling. I liked that he heroin is in her mid-thirties, older than the hero, and sensible.
I received this as an ARC for my honest review****
This was an honest to goodness lovey dovey, sexy and beautiful story. Maren is a recently divorced in her mid-thirties celebrating this event with her closest friends. Being in one relationship her whole life, Maren is self-doubting herself and trying to stay in her little bubble that includes her sons and her friends. It’s not until this night that she finally feels a little rejuvenated and happy with her sexy body since she has been hitting the gym hard core. It also helps that she has a hardcore military trainer. Her body is at its best since having 2 kids and even though the scars are there from C-sections, the work she has put into her workout is showing. Seeing a hot sexy male at a bar and being provoked by her friend to say hello and strike up a conversation is totally out of her comfort zone. Not to mention, this hot specimen is a whole lot younger than her and she is scared to be rejected. So even though this evening is for her to celebrate her being single, she still can’t find it in herself to put herself out there. Dante is a sexy, successful and smart businessman. He is currently renovating his house after a breakup with his fiancée and trying to put his best foot forward. Moving on means he needs to reestablish a home for himself without the old memories. Living in a hotel temporarily and running a business is a lot of work. He hasn’t put himself out there since his previous relationship. However, seeing Maren and watching her from afar. Her laughter and smiles stirs something inside of him and he is intrigued. Getting her number from her friend is definitely an odd way to start up something, but it’s a start. He is immediately interested and contacts her right after he leaves the bar. The little twists and turns is cute and a little laughable. I was so proud of Dante for admitting that he knew about her situation prior to sleeping with her. It surprised me at first, but being that Dante is such a stand-up guy and he really does love with his whole heart, it’s no surprise. These two are a lovely couple who find the way to be together even if there are road blocks. I love when Dante shows his aggressive side and finally gives Nathan what he deserves. But I also love that he is truly interested in her boys and there happiness. This is an all-around love story. I love Winter’s novels and only continue to look forward to the next because I know I will fall in love with the characters.
This review may contain SPOILERS! I was positively surprised by this book! After finishing the first one, which was okay, I was unsure if I should continue with the series. But this one was so fun, and refreshing and it actually felt really deserved when the "bad guys" got what they had coming. Something I realized while reading this book is how fun and flirty guys who are not bad boys or players are, such as Dante was. He was a genuinely good guy, who LIKED monogamy. Also the rather mature Maren was exceptional. Their chemistry was good and I loved how sure of his feelings Dante was throughout the whole book. The conflict towards the end was rather unnecessary. I mean it was a big deal, but not a break-up-kinda-big-deal, so I felt like it could've been resolved faster. Although the length of the book wasn't that long and actually fitted the book quite well, it felt rushed towards the end, when the conflict resolves. I think a few more pages would've done the book good. Apart from that it was a good and enjoyable romantic novel! 4/5 stars

Another winner. No one captures my attention quite like Winter Renshaw. She has such strong characters. There were moments that made me laugh like when Maren meets Lauren for the first time. Both her's and Dante's ex are dating each other AND they live next door. Way too weird for me. A little sad that Dante & Maren didn't take full advantage of that situation since clearly their exes weren't over them. There were moments that left me breathless like when Dante writes his own list and gives it to her in an effort to win her back. There were tears- let's just leave it at that. Very happy to read another Amato brother story. Can't wait for the next one. Winter's books are only getting better.
