I write what I know and care about.

My work is infused with relentless furious action and/or paranormal charismata. Contemporary worlds infused with mysticism. Breathless, brain-twisting plots. High stakes suspense that churns the psyche.

But ultimately it is knowing and experiencing the lives of people that provide the impetus of Stories that Grip the Soul.

I've made music with Kainai First Nations, helped save Russian refugees from deportation, hung with Martial Arts Grandmasters, counseled WWII vets on their deathbeds. Not to mention deep Chinese, cultural participation,

This Rayna Tan thriller was a great read, full of action, twists, and with some great character development too. I really liked finding out more of Rayna's backstory as she seeks out her birth family, but there was a couple of things I didn't like in the book, not least the 'miraculous' recovery of Rayna and her father (though I'll say no more so I don't spoil the story). However, it's still a good story, and if you can ignore your disbelief about some elements (it is a fiction book after all), I'm sure you'll enjoy it too.
NB I received a complimentary copy of this book, but I always give an HONEST review based wholly on my own opinions

Rayna is back with a vengeance as her company deals with a rich and vicious Chinese gangster. In addition to the intrigue associated with catching the Mandarin, Rayna takes the opportunity to delve into her own past by seeking to find her birth parents. The characters are rich and fully developed, and several plot lines carry through the book. Rayna enters North Korea to take out a meth lab and kills the Korean General who is selling the products. Whether it is a small Chinese village, an ancient Buddhist Temple or a fancy hotel or restaurant, the action is continuous and the suspense is unchecked. This is a great book!

This adventure introduces you to the dark under belly of China. A young man, spoiled and overindulged, causes possible disaster. They discover illegal drug use, drug manufacturing by the rich and greedy and the sex traffic trade. Rayna and Fidelitas are in China to take revenge on those that took part in the shoddy construction of two schools that killed or injured many children. Those that took part were greedy government officials and business men. Fidelitas gets involved where injustice is found. Rayna takes some personal time and makes a big discovery. This book is filled with exciting, page-turning adventures, full with unexpected thrills and mystery. A must read.

Rayna Tan and the Fidelitas group are at it again; this time taking on a sinister crime lord to try and prevent him from launching a chemical attack on the US who he blames for his son's death. This is a non-stop, heart wrenching blockbuster from Mr. Lowe as he brings Rayna Tan to life with her backstory. The characters are intriguing and very believable in the world of today. I absolutely love and recommend this entire series.
I received a copy from Mr. Lowe, and I have thoroughly enjoyed spending time with the Fidelitas and Ms. Tan. Beauty and brawn in a dynamite package.

Wow! What another great book in the Rayna Tan series.

You will find Rayna Tan finding both of her fathers on a trip to her ancestral home in China. Then fasten your seatbelts for a ride where you find her doing things that you never expected nor anyone has seen before in Wes Lowe's previous novels about her. It's a trip to behold.

Great book

This was the first I've read of Wesley's books, but I'll be looking out for more of them.
A few things seemed a little 'cliche' at first, but they work and make for a great story.
Well worth the read.

Great reading full of action and emotions. Rayna along with her adopted father go to China as part of the Fidelitas team. The author portays a lot of Chinese background and brings the reader into close contact to the chinese People both the good and bad sides. Well worth reading.

Rayna’s job takes her near her birthplace in China. With her Dad’s help she tries to find her relatives. Little does she know how things will turn out. You’ll have to read the story to find out, because I don’t want to give away and of the action packed twisty plot.

The Mandarins Vendetta Review by Wes Lowe (Rayna Tan Action Thriller Series Book 2)

Rayna takes it a step further with an all-out action storyline! 5 Stars again!

When Rayna and the Fidelitas team go to China to administer justice to the corrupt officials and businessmen who caused the deaths and injuries of thousands of schoolchildren, a heinous plot is discovered. One of the perpetrators, bent on revenge against the American system that allowed his son to die of drugs, alcohol and inadequate medical care, plans to kill a million Americans with a deadly new drug.

“I received this for being an advanced reader for the author. Besides getting all the good books in advance of hitting the market and have the opportunity to share my remarks, I love being part of the team that works with authors as they share each new book that they pen”.

What did I like? American Terrorist is a work of fiction, but what’s truly scary is that the scenario is frighteningly plausible. This is no conspiracy theory. We do have shadowy, brutal enemies. Can we stop them from executing destruction again? Again this book has continued the action that I really like and when I talk about action I don’t mean just the war and brutal action I mean is the tense action, what is going to happen next??? Type of action, where do I go, what do I do? It keeps the flow over the book and Rayna is constantly trying to figure out the next step, the next move. The other thing that I like is the complexity of the storyline that also follows suit from the other two books. This author is clearly good at what he loves to do and he is capable of drawing a person into the actual feel of the intense action and deeply moving storyline.

What are you going to like? Another well thought out and researched storyline that is flowing and extremely complex. Each member of the character list is amazing and show strength and vulnerability in a way that makes them even more real and adds immensely to the feel of the book. I love Rayna but who wouldn’t? She is sexy, capable, vulnerable, just has this something about her that makes her so unique. This book works like a well-oiled machine together with the story and the characters and I can see this series developing and continuing with many stories that will draw us back time and again. I love action storylines that feel real and make me proud to live in the country that I do and I know that the author will makes us all proud with each book. I for one will be going on and reading everyone that he writes. Hope you will join me!

“The Mandarin’s Vendetta” eBook was published in 2016 (September) and was written by Wesley Robert Lowe (http://wesleyrobertlowe.com). Mr. Lowe has published nine novels. This is the second in the “Rayna Tan” series.

I received a galley of this novel for review from the author. I categorize this novel as ‘R’ because it contains scenes of Violence and Mature Situations. The story is set mostly in China and North Korea. The primary character is Rayna Tan, formerly a Canadian Special Forces operative and now filling a similar role for Fidelitas.

Tan is part of the Fidelitas team that heads to China seeking justice for a pair of earthquake caused school collapses. Fidelitas is a shadowy organization that uses its might to seek justice. While pursuing those responsible, the team discovers a more sinister plot to kill many Americans.

The Fidelitas team finds themselves in one life threatening situation after another. Adopted Tan is also able to discover some of her long thought lost roots. While most of the party survives, they do not avoid tragedy.

This was an interesting 3.5 hours read of this 262 page Thriller. While the pace was fast and there was plenty of action, the flow of the story felt rough to me. The focus seemed to jump around rather than focus in depth on scenes in the story. I think it would have been improved with a little polishing. I do think that the cover art was well chosen for the novel. I give this novel a 3 out of 5.

Just as Great as the First One.

I loved all the action, intrigue and thrills in this book. Rayna Tan is one tough girl.
Most of the action takes place in China in this one, and some of the things I had heard rumors of showed up in this book.
I Highly Recommend This Book.

Not too bad of a book. At times a little unreal but still fun to read. I'll probably go find the first one in the series also.
