I’ve read this novella multiple times since I purchased it back in 2016 but have never gotten around to posting a review so here goes. I really enjoyed this novella. I also thought that it was a good addition to the 1 Night Stand (1NS) and the Pararescuemen Series’ by LJ Garland and Debbie Gould. It was a short, sweet & steamy insta-love novella, which is part of the course with all of the 1NS Series books. Both Junior Lieutenant Kyle “Raven” Alvarez and Dr. Melissa “Lis” Anne Carter are all about their careers. Madame Eve does it again as Kyle and Lis are perfect together. Kyle and his team decide to go to a political rally, as Senator Calvin Bishop is talking and since his name keeps on coming up during their investigation into the sh*oting of Bobby’s Fiancé Siobhan, the m*rder of her brother, best friend and her boyfriend at the time, and the m*rder of Zeke’s Fiancé Kaci’s family, and her subsequent abd*ction.
Not long after the Senator finished speaking, and Congresswoman Kelly Lohengrin stepped up to the podium, a b*mb went off. The team is initially shocked from the blast but get to work at helping the injured, seeing if anymore b*mbs are set and finding the b*mber as they know that he likes to watch. When Kyle and Lis meet at the rally, as Lis is trying to save someone and Kyle tries to stop her as he judges her by the way she looks. He doesn’t expect a doctor to be tattooed with purple streaked hair. They’re both extremely passionate about their jobs. They stop arguing and get the job done to save the patient. They both left a lasting impression on the other. Kyle and Lis end up being each other’s date. Their chemistry is completely off the charts, as well as hot as hell. Arguing seems to be their f*replay. Their date is cut short when Lis is asked to come into the hospital as another b*mb has gone off.
Kyle and Lis decide that they have something together, and decide that it’s not just going to be a one time thing. Kyle drops her off at work, and tells her that him and his team think that the b*mbing at the rally seemed to be linked to two instances that happened to two of his teammates fiancés. They swap numbers and Lis tells him that she’ll be in touch later on. The b*mber targets Lis, as he saw her with Kyle and his team at the rally and knows that she’s a means to an end to get the flash drive that he needs so he can complete his job. It’s a race against time to try and find Lis and the b*mber before its too late. I’m really looking forward to reading the final story in this series, which is Jason’s story. I’d recommend this novella, Pararescuemen Series, 1NS and both authors to everyone.
