"A hero or a villain
To them it’s black or white
You’re a spectrum of a person
And none of them are right"

Alex's Spilled Ink is a compilation of Alex's poems, divided into three parts: heaven, earth and hell.
Heaven. Dip your hands in the warm, crytal water and reach for the words at the bottom of the lake. Inspiration. Hope. Love. Which will you take?
Earth. Keep your feet on the ground but look up towards the sky. What do you see? The moon, the stars, life passing by?
Hell. Fire burns but so does passion. You fight your battles and sometimes you lose. Hurt. Pain. Grief. Keep on fighting, there's no excuse.

Okay I have tears in my eyes and I don't know where to start.

The collection of poems is so full of live, the words are breathing, living creatures that once you lay eyes on then they stay with you. They are beautiful, simply beautiful. Sometimes in melancholic and distant way, other times vibrant, bright and shining with happiness.
I definitely enjoyed this collection of poems and I would recommend everyone to read. It's a beautiful, moving and thought-provoking book.

Beautiful poetry.

Alex has written a wonderful book. I have read this in two separate sessions. I am not much of a reviewer but I want to say this: Alex is a true poet, and I can recommend this book to anyone who is interested in very personal poetry.

If I'm being honest, I'm not usually a fan of poetry. But I did want to read this one, and I was not let down in the least. It's very emotionally intense, which is something that I generally enjoy, so it was a huge plus.
My only regret is that I kept it on my kindle for so long and I didn't pick it earlier.

It's a gorgeous book full of beautiful words. I've read this through several times now, and I've taken away something new with each read.
Think 'Success', 'Kaleidoscope' & 'Contradictions' are my favourites :)

Alex's Spilled Ink was a book published in 2016. The topics explored in this book are common. Divided into three parts: heaven, earth, and hell, this is a beautiful collection of poetry that talks about love, hope, pain, grievances, and all emotions that a human soul will experience in his/her lifetime. This book is a quick read and has only 46 pages. Even though it's short, the poetry presented in this book has a deep meaning.

When life gives you lemons, make lemonade - this is a common phrase that most of us have heard before. This is the message this book is trying to provide. The writer honestly tried to tell the readers how to turn your negatives into positives. Life is a bumpy ride, you gotta go through ups and downs until you reach a state of mind where you find stability in everything. There are so many people who go through the same shit you're going through. Don't give up! Don't live in your past. Everything's gonna be normal if you don't quit.

You will find support even when you are striving alone in the dark. When nothing seems right, find comfort in those who love and care about you. Acknowledge their efforts. This book tells you to not give up, no matter what happens. Be optimistic in your life.

We are all broken, we are all flawed, we are all the same. Some people will love us no matter what and that makes us question why they love us. Love is a topic that has been explored in many ways in this book. The writer used the five elements to represent different phases of love in the poem The Elements of Love. The author also tells even if you feel alienated in society and you feel disconnected, you can find solace in books and music. We need to appreciate the little things in our life. Sometimes they help us in our tough times.

The writing style used by the writer gives this book uniqueness and separates it from all the insta-poetry books released recently. Poetry sounds so fresh in this one. The writer has made use of many literary devices to express her thoughts. Rhymes and rhythms play a major role in making this book an interesting read. Symbolism has been used brilliantly in some poems. The diction used is easy to understand.
I liked this book very much. The first time I read this book was four years ago and on my second read this time, I felt more connected to this poetry book. I was able to relate to a lot of poems. This is a book that I'm gonna read again in the future and I recommend this to everyone even if you are not a big fan of poetry.
